We are starting up another ZWK scenario game by kobyashi.

Here's the games description:

'You could say that the purpose of the scenario is to discover which other ways WWII could have unfolded if different personalities were involved. Another departure from other war scenarios is the heavy emphasis on research. So this is not your typical tactical battle type scenario. Consequently, there are no restrictions on negotiations or the transfer of technology other than forbidding the Allies and Axis to negotiate with each other.

ZWK is different from other WWII scenarios in that it was designed with multi-player in mind. So do not expect any events or programing to ensure that the War takes its rightful course and there are no free units to beef up the AI. However, the map, tech tree and the political/military balance is such that it steers the players towards the initial phases of the War simply for the sake of maximize their chances of winning. '

We plan to start this game within a week max. so if you still wanna join be quick. We sure could use a human player on the Axis side ,Or me and Duke will have an easy time with the Axis.

Anyone interrested?

I'm not that good at Civ2 but I'll play as the Axis.
Yeah! We have a victim, er, um, I mean another player. :D
You don't have to be good at Civ II to play this game, the cities are built and the troops are ready to go! :)

If anyone else would like to join, we do have the two minor nations as possibilities.

If we don't get anyone else, we can plan on starting this weekend perhaps....? I won't be here Saturday much, but we can at least get the ball rolling then.

Be sure to read the rules and instructions and be sure you can get the game running on your system. Try a few turns in single player mode to get use to it. If you have any questions let us know.

Be sure to read the PBEM FAQ thread, especially the part about pressing Ctrl+N at the end of your turn to avoid the AI from moving your troops.

er, um, I feel stupid asking this, but this game is worth playing twice. Unless anyone else comes, can I take the Italians? It might actually be a good idea. If the axis player is new to this, having a good ally could help out.

I'll play a minor if you hare room for me..

I'm new to Civ2 multiplayer, so i guess i will be an easy target
:D

Same issue then - pair the stronger players with the newer ones. Elibb & I v. sas &DoM.

OK. Can everyone please check and confirm that they can get the scenario to play for them and post back here. Once we get confirmations, we can start. When you post here, you might want to check the box for e-mail notification. That way you will be alerted each time someone posts here and can check if it might be your turn soon.

BTW, if you ever need to reach another player, you can click on their names above to PM them. :)

Edit: Game order changed to the (I think) correct order. :)

I confirm. I also would just like to make the suggestion that since this has more people than usual that for everbody's sake we keep punctual. Just keep some sort of routine for yourself, like signing on and giving it fifteen minutes after you get home from work. It would be cool to get a turn in daily...

Well, the first move would be DoF's, so take it away.

Actually, it would be eibb.

IIRC, in this game the soviets have already moved, so the Axis goes first.

Previous post from Koby:
This particular scenario is slightly different. The Axis start - cause the soviets have already moved. So [The Axis] should start, then the Allies move next.

I'll PM elibb now and change the order the names are listed above to the turn order (later tonight).

oops, sorry

If you guys saw my post in the ZWk 2 game thread, I thought that there should be a 'key master' that holds everyones passwords for the game. That way, if a player has to drop out, the rest can keep player once a replacement is found.

Kobyashi has agreed to be the 'key master' for our game, so please send him a PM once your turn comes around and you set-up a password.

good idea

Here's my game, but I've got two questions. What exactly am I supposed to describe that happened in my turn besides event based things? Also none of the units that were fortified had any movement points left when I unfortied them to push CTRL+n before I saved. Was I just supposed to push CTRL+n anyway:confused:. I hope everything works.:)

You can describe your turn with something as simple as a list of battles and their outcomes, or cities taken, or you can read some of the other threads in here and see how they sensationalize things. :)

If you didn't have any units with movement points left, then it's a non-issue to press ctrl+n. That is only to keep the AI from moving your troops that still have movement left. I would do it every turn just to be certain though. You may want to actually have a unit that is not being used that is purposely 'awake' just to press ctrl+N with. Some unit not near the front lines that is sitting in a city that will basically just sit there otherwise.

Be sure to attach your saved game also. :)
