If desktop PCs had a built-in UPS, and when the power goes out and it switches to the UPS, the OS gives the user a warning and if the user doesn't press any buttons, the OS figures they're not there and it saves everything to hard drive (like hibernation) and automatically shuts it down before the battery runs out and thus there is little damage. Sorta like laptop battery power settings.
I know I'm sorta rambling, but wouldn't that be cool?
Should I try to sell the idea to a company? Or has it been done already in some way or another?
