I thought it might be a good idea if we all posted here to say what kind of Civ players we are, so that we've got a good idea of individual strengths and weaknesses.

Personally I like the financial, expansive, philosophical and industrious traits and play with Elizabeth or Qu Shi Huang. I'm pretty horsehockey at combat and city defence which is why I don't play with barbs on, lest I lose early on in the game but I love worker and citizen micromanagment. I always always go for a cultural or diplomatic victory, allowing loads of religions to spread within my territory but never adopting one, beelining to Free Religion instead. When it comes to combat I'm going to shut the hell up and let you guys do all the work!

I love to take the religion path and rarely ever play anything besides India. Our industrial Theology shall reign supreame. Though I will tell you I only play on Monarch

I used to be a builder but now I'm more into combat. Financial or Organised are my favs when paired up with Aggressive.

I love to win by domination or conquest but I mostly play against the AI so I need to play against humans more, and I'm working on that. :)

My flavour kind of depends on the map. I usually adapt to my circumstances, e.g. if Germany is next door I might as well get in to a war sooner rather than later. Regardless though, I’ll always want to heavily industrialise my Civ.

I try to use different leaders every time I play, but I prefer financial or industrial leaders.

I suck at Civ4, but i like the Civ3 MTDG and thought I would sign up for this one. My only non conquest win was a space race because i wanted to see the video. It was against 3 aggresive leaders out of 4... Anyway, I am only good at late game and science, all my conquest wins were in the industrial and modern ages. I like spiritual, financial, and industrious.

I don't really favor any traits or maps over others(I usually take random). I am more of a builder and really have to concentrate on war to do it well. I try to adapt to my circumstances but sometimes I end up going through the whole game without a clear plan in mind, which usually leads to space race victories. I play on prince.

i like to make money so we can finish building quicker so that why i like to build the pyirmids so we can get universel sufferage

Actually, that's a good point to discuss: should we (situation depending, obviously) go for the Pyramids? I've been experimenting with it and I'm not so convinced of the initial worth - the time spent constructing it could be better used to get a military advantage.

i usually play india or france or england. research early techs then go to christianity since other religions are founded by then. afterwards i try to build up the treasury.

i say chop chop dig dig timber
i way we chop as many trees as possible

I am addicted to aggressive civs. I usually tend to pick Japan, Greece, and Aztec the most as aggressives. Then I tend to favor Industrialism. About the only trait I am not fond of personally is Expansive. Creative come in at the bottom too but I use it sometimes. Like Freddy of Germany.

Alot of my playstyle and objectives are determined by what I see in the beginning really. Sometimes I am Japanese Hinduists, sometimes I go without a Holy City and mooch religion from neighbors. I am more of a land hog I guess. I want to monopolize the resources.

I am glad to see you all like building though, I have played Gandhi once. So this will be fun.

EDIT: I second the Pyramids. Being Spiritual, should we rush religions?

I'm still learning a lot. I've been playing only for 2/3 months CIV4 (I didn't play the prevouis games, I was playing TOTAL WAR series then). I play on monarch now. I decided to switch form prince after a few wins but my only wins were SPACE wins. I've never played for cultural or diplomatic victories. I'm very interested in DOMINATION victories (it's difficult for me to get to something on monarch without fighting a bit), but I guess I have to try first on PRINCE. I like to play QIN and Elisabeth as well, maybe QIN better, because I think I don't control yet well the specialists.

Saludos.
