Sullla's AI Survivor Season Eight - Championship Thread

video totally stopped on me ..ugh

I did not see your score, My...nope

Looks like Kait was the top CFCer!!! :goodjob:

Sorry for dipping here - ended up giving up on it and focusing solely on the stream to save bandwidth and battery.

What an ending, though! Very slow burn game but boy was that an exciting conclusion! I missed when Gandhi launched his spaceship (did he?) but that might have been the new closest Championship ending in AI Survivor history!

I am a bit disappointed that Gandhi couldn't pull it out in the end, because that would have been one heck of a way to win. Fighting off multiple attackers, making the Nuclear Gandhi meme a reality, gaining three different spaceship techs from the Internet... Liz certainly deserves her win but it was a lot less interesting.

I am happy that Liz finally got a season of redemption after having so many rough goes in the past. While she certainly has her weaknesses, I do think this season's run for her is more indicative of real strength as an AI than past ones like Louis or Burger King. If she can expand properly and not get buried by wars - exactly what happened this season - she can tech like nobody's business.

Everybody forgetting that Liz literally COULDN'T tech Stealth before Composites was amusing.

This was an interesting map and not bad overall, but I suspect it was too big as some people have said. Everybody gets too big, which makes it too hard to accomplish anything via the military path. Augustus and Gandhi both had much longer roads to conquest ahead of them as a result, and I think that slowed them down significantly. Augustus at least. Churchill would never have survived without the extra space.

We'll see in the Alternate Histories though. I secured dibs to run them for this map and intend to start pretty much as soon as the file available. We'll know more about it's overall dynamics soon enough. :)

Are we going to do a postseason thread for Season 8? Seems like a good idea to me.

Yeah I agree the map was a bit too big. Too easy for them to expand at their leisure to 12+ cities each. The more peaceful AIs (i.e. not the Shakas) generally don't even think about plotting until they have run out of valid city spots so it meant the first war declaration came very late and the later game tech pace was very fast.
