Shouldn't that be New Amsterdam?Ditto.
Playing America, I prevent the building of New York. No Yankees!

i loved Rome on BBC 2, can't believe they cancelled the 3rd series
but more on topic, when playing as england i re-name all my ships HMS _______, it just feels right that way
I've always used Gorak (South Park). The first warrior is always renamed nugz (Encino Man)
It was on HBO and it certainly seemed like the show was meant to end after the second season all along. Historically speaking, nothing interesting happens in Rome for a long time after the second season ends. (Cleopatria and Marc Antony are both dead and Augustus gets named first citizen(?))

Actually, HBO originally announced they weren't even going to pick it up for the second season, then changed their minds.
And then of course there's "Steve".very nice. My new #2.
My first carrier gets named USS Enterprise, my second USS Nimitz. Sometimes the battleships get named, too (Iowa-class).

You've obviously never watched the amazing BBC series (and book) I, Claudius.
Historically, the end of the second series of HBO's Rome started what most consider to be Rome's golden age.
Yes, I knew that and that's probably a strike against it for good drama. Backstabbing, War, and Intrigue is what made the HBO show interesting. I'm no historian, but I think the peroid after the HBO show ended was basically Augustus with absolute power reigning over decades of peace and prosperity. Doesn't exactly sound like the stuff of a great HBO drama.
I spam the map with signs to indicate sites of historic victories (or defeats). At particularly grueling city battles, I often leave a marker over the ruins to indicate that it was the Battle of (city name here).
