Your Code

hey dont blame TF! The code monkeys fall behind and dont haave time to write neat code. How do you think your ;evil; becomes  once you submit? It gets submitted to code monkeys who convert it using HTML but cannot perfect it because too many people post al once!

Actually good coding is nice, but not too important with the latest versions of IE.

But it isn't just a science, its an art. ;)
Seriously, there is a certain way coding should be done, so it stays neat and organized, but it isn't really necessary (usually).
It's funny you say that "it isn't really necessary" because what the whole neat code movement, if you will, is about is the fcat that it is becoming necessary, probably very soon too. With PDA's and cell phones that can access the web, strict coding standards are becoming more and more important because sloppy coding is not being displayed properly on these devices. You can code sloppily all you want, but, eventually, people just won't be able to view it.

Of course not everyone likes or uses IE... ;)

Without wanting to patronise, you sound like a textbook. ;)

Whilst you have a valid technical point, there are a few things that are maybe more relevant:

- This main pages were not intended be available on PDA's when designed
- This forum works as is
- It was made with FrontPage, presumably speeding up the development process a few hundred percent
- This forum is free
- You are the only person to have ever complained
- Your complaints are esoteric, not practical
- Changing the code will have (probably) no discernable difference
- Changing the code will take considerable time

Why not go to M$.com and complain about their sloppy web coding? I see enough of it there....

how can you tell if a place has sloppy codeing?

In IE you can right click on the page and choose 'View Source' - you get the pure HTML.

There are many other ways to view the HTML if you don't have IE, but in that case you also probably know how to view it anyway.

From the HTML itself you can see it is badly formed, with many open ended tags (you will need a very basic conceptual understanding of HTML for this).

This all matters, how?

Civfanatics is the best! RA! RA! RA! :yeah:
