Your favorite Era to be in?

Ancient, Medieval, Industrial, or Modern? I'd prefer the Medieval ages.

Modern Times. The music and cities are the best.

Ancient and medieval era, as I prefer the units in this era and don't like to play too long. I normally finish before the industrial era.

Industrial. That's when I really feel my lead. Getting Steam Power and RP puts me out of reach of the AI. Besides, I like having rails and getting from one side of my empire to the other in one move.

I'm split between the ancient era for the rapid expansion phase and industrial era for the transition to railroad. Either one can keep me up over night.

I enjoy the industrial era in Civ 3 much better than in Civ 4 as railroads can be discovered much sooner and have a much more powerful effect. Industrial is also quick in my opinion and all the other eras seem to drag on.

Late Ancient era. Known as the Classical in civ 4 and 5.

Ancient: land grab, trying to stay ahead.
Medieval: first wars, trying to get luxuries and some islands overseas.
Industrial: Expansion, perfection, exploding economy with rails. First wars with the big super powers.
Modern: better toys.

I like the early eras, but I think the Industrial Era must be my favorite: Artillery, railroads, cavalry. . . what more could you want?

Ancient: Love it for the "How can we eat? Why do we eat? Where shall we have lunch?" mode, where you've got no idea who's around you, and you're just exploring and having fun.
Medieval: Not as much, usually a drag for me.
Industrial: Better than medieval.
Modern: Love the music, and the feeling of, ah, here we are at the cafe for lunch.

I like the Ancient era, particularly late Ancient, when the REX is at its peak.

I also like the Modern era, with technological advancement at a dizzying pace and everyone vying for spaceship or UN victory; it can be a tense phase of the game, as the endgame phase should be.

Hard to say, possibly mid-late medieval, I think. MDI's, longbowmen, knights, muskets...frigates and galleons.

My favorite era is ancient. Everything is still a mystery and the landscape still undeveloped and full of barbarians.

I like the Industrial/Modern, the Railroads, units, everything.

Industrial. For me coal is the real game changer. If I have coal then I am a builder with rails and factories followed by TOE and Hoover. If I don't have it then who do I have to go to war with to secure my supply.

I love the ancient age best - the era of discovery and development. Ancient sets the stage for everything to follow; a good beginning usually means a good game... spoken by a wussy warlord player
