I got a bit bored so I posted a poll: which is your favourite civ in FfH 2

If you can't decide one choose several.

a poll is always an interesting thing, but perhaps post a date next time in the thread title ;)

Or wait until the first release of Shadow, so we can start thinking about civs that need drool factor (again).

I didn't know there was another such poll, i tried to look for it but didn't find one. And that is more than half a year old.

Let's decide that this one is for later versions, 0.25 but especially shadow.

So if you think Shadow will change your favourites don't vote yet

Clan, Khazad, Ljosalfar, and Sheaim for me :)
I generally like them all, though.

I like the idea of posting this thread every once in a while, FWIW. Civs change, so preferences change.

If you're interested in my views: I went for Grigori, Elohim, and Khazad. I went back and saw that on the previous poll, apparently I only picked Grigori and Khazad. I think I picked Elohim for their ability to lower the Armageddon Counter - it's nice to be able to play a game without having to worry about others razing cities and unleashing unholy destruction on you. I've played some Amurite and Sheaim since then, and I like those civs too, but not enough to put them in the fav's. Luchiurp, to me, is interesting but annoying (for some reason). Calabim is fun, but seems overpowered when you're doing well (and thus, no fun because it's no challenge), and disappointing when you're not (and no fun because you're losing). Ljosalfar and Svartalfar I just couldn't get into at all, which is strange because I usually play elves in almost any fantasy setting. Bannor and Malakim seem boring to me. Also Lanun and Kuriotate, although it's not so much that they're boring, but more that they seem like one-trick ponies.

At last enough votes so I can vote here too without affecting the results.
I like the Amurites because of their powerful magic and I tend to play science rush. Cassiel's philosophy is very close to my own so that's the second choice, and Mercurians because of the rubber band effect.

Build units, take crazy risks in combat, if they die, you get angels now, if they kill, you get angels with lots of xp later

I really like the Ljosalfar. I've been playing a lot on Sureshot’s 21 civ map, and they rock. They have good synergies, good units, and very good cities. Archer and Satyr rushes rock! My other choices would be Elohim for their religious synergy (monks) and their AC checking powers. I recently discovered the awesomeness of the Dwarves. Both factions are incredible. The Khazak have awesome production capacities, and the Luchurip are awesome warriors. Make a huge stack of golems, and add in 4-5 enchantment adepts and your unbeatable.

Ljosalfar FTW. I play as others, but always gravitate back to everyone's favorite tree-huggers. They have incredible synergy with FoL, of course. But the greatest part of the Ljosalfar/FoL synergy is flexibility. Throw in fire mana and you have surprisingly good warmongers; they're unstoppable if your enemy's land is heavily forested, and more then able to hold their own against others. They lack the aggressive punch of say, the Doviello, but their excellent archers allow them to hold what they take.

The last poll was quite a while ago, and as far as I know, the old votes cannot be changed. My preference has changed several times in that period, both as a result of version changes and discovering new strategies. It was time for a new poll.

I agree. I had never played the Elohim before. Then, I read a thread here that made them sound like an interesting civ to try. While I occasionally try other civs, most of the time I play using the Elohim, specifically Einion Logos. I figure if you are going to play a game using the slower speeds you should use your favorite civ most of the time and then just fiddle with the many other options.

It would be interesting to summarize this poll or maybe have another to determine the percentage that prefer Good, Evil or Neutral civs.

kinda suprised that the infernals and Mercurians arent way up there since they were the highlight of the last phase...
