When I was into rock/metal, I liked Guns n Roses, Metalica, Nervana. (with many others inbetween) In that order. I still think Metalica are pretty cool, but i got into house music not long after Kirt Cobane shot himself.
Since then, my musical tastes have been geared towards trance and all its spin offs. (Not the chart music types)
My tastes in 'rock' music are pretty varied now; every thing from Floyd to U2 to the Chilli Pepperes. But they are not my first choice in music these days.
Dance/Techno, whatever you want to call it, is my main music.
It is music that evolves with technology and not just the artist/band. This is why it has kept me interested for so many years.

Wearing black doesn't make anyone goth. Listening that kind of music that you do even less. Those artists are far from gothic... so now I don't understand why do you even mention it?

To give a more serious and less spammy answer - most of the bands you listed would be widely considered to fall under the category of "Alternative", I believe.
