Making Sparta a playable civ would be in conflict with the Greek, Byzantine and Osman Empires.

Id like to see random unique units given to each civilization to end the 'oh no its Cesear, i must smash him into the dust to survive the game' rush.

Equally so for Justinian.

And Montezuma too with his no resource swordsman.

Though Sparta was indeed a city state of greece it did indeed captured other city states, not making it an Empire but a civilization.

Thank you Webster for defining the word 'civilization' as a city-state that captures other city-states.

Sparta was part of the Greek or Macedonian civilization, depending on the time period. Now if you were to argue adding Macedonia to the game... well, I don't suppose that would be any worse than adding the HRE.

Now we're at it, add Belgium, Tibet, Luxembourg, Hungary, Poland, Ukraine and Mexico too! (sarcasme)

Given a choice, I'd rather have Macedonia than Greece, but I think that having them both is a little ridiculous.

I don't think some of the Units in the game are really accurate. For example it makes no sense to me that Bombers cannot kill off enemy units. Um, excuse me but the last time I checked, bombs kill. I hope they bring back lethal bombardment. At least for bombers.

Foot units should not be killable by aircraft or siege. You can never get the last few guys. Armor, other aircraft, ships, sure.

Bombers killing units would totally spoil the gameplay.

No need to explain this.

Nonsense, the Peleponesian league would work for Sparta. :scan:

And the 'Republic of Texas' would work for Texas, but that doesn't make it a civilization.

Now you did it; you woke up the Texans.
