I've played several games now it I've found myself always at war with the same leaders. And it's always them trying to blind side me with agression. This has lead to the violence spilling over into other games.

Montezzuma is pretty famous on these forums and well known. But there are other leaders I've found to be even worse.

My worst enemy is Surrevyman II or how ever you spell his name, from the Khmer empire. Every single time I've played BTS he has wound up being a western border neighbor and has commited hostile acts towards me. And it always winds up dragging me into an age long war that hinders my infastructure and research developement. I have grown to hate this AI Leader more than any other. He is my civ4 mortal enemy.

Dishonorable mentions would have to be Ramsesse because no matter how many times I start off being friends with him in the early game, by the Renaissance/Industrial era's he always backstabs me. Cyrus did that in 2 games as well. But the REAL dishonorable mention hear would have to be Wang Kon. We have a confusing relationship. One minute he's half decent and the next he's betraying me followed by me vassallizing his 2 timing sorry keister.

Who are your worst enemies in Civ?

It's hard to tell - too many jerks to choose among... I think Zara and Joao are in the lead - i really hate those, while i just strongly dislike the rest....

Mostly for they annoying tendence to expand like mad, settling every little bit of crappy land. Tho they are not the only leaders that do so, Joao has Carracs which allows him to take it one step further, and also settle all the little crappy islands. Zara is a religion fanatic and has the most disgusting LH animation as little Bonus.

Monty is my favorite AI. He's in my games all the time, and so fun to conquer. Sometimes he'll even declare the war. It's so cute. I have had so many GPP farms in Tenochtitlan that i've got to have a soft spot for the guy. Napoleon is similar, but I don't see him as much.

It's the expansive civs that annoy me. I hate it when some AI sends settlers over to my freshly conquered continent and build cities in my tundra and desert. Just so lame.

My worst enemy isn't my worst enemy because he's aggressive towards me, but because he's the most useless ally I've ever encountered. He's never once DoW'd when I ask him even we're Friendly and he's furious with the enemy. When I get dogpiled by a group of heathens he's NEVER once been willing to help no matter how many +Diplo modifiers we have and has actually joined in the dogpile against his religious brethen on the the heathens side more often than not. For these reasons I despise him more than any other civ in the game. If he's in game with me now he gets crushed and eliminated, he doesn't deserve the glory of becoming my vassal. This turd of a leader is none other than Sitting Bull, or 'Sh*tting Bricks' as I like to call him now, because that's about all he can do when I roll an SoD over his pathetic civ.

Monty and Shaka are the two that raise my ire. Any civ that requires you to rethink your whole game strategy because they are present would make my list. Both of my top picks automatically make me think in terms of war planning. :ar15:

I've noticed that with him too. He hasn't ever declared war on me yet, but it seems he does make a HORRIBLE ally. Not matter what he will not help out or pull his own weight, and he'll constantly demand you cancel deals with other civs that he only has a -1 modifier with. And those are civ that are fairly populr with other civs too. I'm beginning to feel like you. But I have found Ramesesse and Cyrus to be even worse. They never help out and have backstabbed me in a dopile just the exact same way you describe... 2 games in a row now.

Cathy aso gets a worthy mention. What AmazonQueen says is true about her she is a sneaky back stabber. But I've also had it good with Cathy. If you can get her to very Friendly, she makes a powerful ally. Especially if she's on another continent from you.

Cathy. She's just a duplicitous, rexing, pain in the ass, and the fact that she looks like my ex-wife doesn't help, either.

i cant stand any Indian leader, they both a tech-whore bastereds. not a big fan of the obvious ones as well, monty. Ive never been in a game vs. Yaqob, but i am playing as him right now, and its great, good civ to be.

I personally cant figure out why Ethiopia is in the game as they've never been huge players on the world stage... and they have some real famine problems.

They were however, big on th African stage, and Civ needed another african civ. if you look, they had alot of religious and economic power (not recently, however ;) ) they are pretty much responisble for all christianity in Africa ie: the bible and the story of peter and the ethiopian

Inca irks me, primarily if they spawn far away. HC is an annoying wonder hog that will tend to found a religion, grab 3 allies, and tech wildly if left alone. When he's near me, I smile and murder him. When he's that far away, I know I'm going to have to deal with a monster at some point. I don't like him at all. Also, he's just militaristic enough that he'll DoW weak neighbors and take their land. Terrific :(.

Brennus always seems to have that effect in my games also, as does hannibal. These war/tech balance guys who favor war slightly really bother me. They are priority targets and they must die ASAP as far as I'm concerned.

the thing is with monty, shaka, rags, al, all the uber-aggressive guys, if you bribe them into attacking someone else, they'll totally leave you alone, other than the "welp, more plunder for us!" request for war help. They gotta war and unless you can get them warring on someone besides you, they're gonna try to take _____ your capital here _____

Isabella and my archenemy, Montezuma. That kind of warmongers don't like peacemongers like me.

just share a same legion with Izzy and she will be in love with you
but the problem is in my game she is usually has a region of her own from the rest so its not worth it :D

Monty, Ragar, and Toku- oh my! They are mega nazi warmongers that should be wiped off the face of the earth.

I've never had much problems with Toku. Sure he's hard to get along with an ally or bribe, but I don't ever think I've ever been declared on by him. Ragnar is another wierd one. He always seems to be at the bottom of the points list in all of my games but yet he always winds up in war against me. The thing is, he's so week and far away that I don't even pay any mind to him. Once I do get to him, I easily squish him like a bug.

Qin Sun Shang (name?) of the chinese is quickly becoming my other worst enemy with Surryvarmand. Shame really, because I was hoping to build a rapport with him, but he always sneak attacks me.

Issebel is a 50/50 situation. There's not much in the middle with her, although right now I am. But quickly I see an affair developing between Isabelle and myself in my current game. :D We seem to have common enemies.

Oh yea, and Sitting Bull now definately goes on my *hit list. He's a horrible ally and a great enemy.
