I really like this mod but it is a bit overwhelming with all the changes. Are there any LPs on YouTube or otherwise that I can look at to learn from?

I was trying to convince Marbozir to make one, but he ended up not doing one. Probably a case of my complete lack of charisma as usual :D

I would make one myself but my complete lack of charisma would probably get in the way of it.

I would really, really, really love to see Marbozir LP this mod. I don't ever get excited about LPs, but that would possibly make my week.

Anyways, I just sort of stumbled upon an LP that someone appears to have started this week with Japan. I don't know anything about him, just found his video through the search bar :)

I hope he doesn't mind me linking to it, his first video is here.

Great video! I think you (or he) should make a post to the main LP forum (if such a thing exists), or perhaps even reddit. More publicity = more users = more bug reports for me!

Oh, hi there. I'm that guy that made that thing.

The first couple videos are a bit shaky, but I hit my after that.

I'd be a bit too embarrassed to post it elsewhere, though I guess I really should at some point.

You did great! I really enjoyed the videos - it was nice to listen to your commentary and, frankly, to see what areas of the mod make sense to players and which don't.

I only noticed a few things that seemed to confuse you at first and weren't addressed. later in the video The biggest issue was city happiness: cities cannot produce more unhappiness than there are citizens in a city. If a city has 3 unhappiness, and they are all impoverished, all other forms of unhappiness in the city are ignored. If, however, 1 of those citizens is no longer impoverished, they can become unhappy for other reasons. That's why, around turn 97 or so, your city had three unhappiness from poverty and, when you change around city tiles, 2 from poverty and 1 from being disconnected. You also seemed to have a hard time remembering beliefs - that's not a big deal, as they were all modified, however don't forget that you can see beliefs in the civilopedia or, even more easily, by hovering over the religion's icon in the city banner.

Edit: also, I'm glad that Deity is a challenge! The CP is still improving, but I think it offers a more rewarding experience for players, especially since the AI receives far fewer innate bonuses on higher difficulty levels. That's something I don't think I've mentioned very much around here: a Deity-level AI is far less 'cheaty' in terms of bonuses than vanilla civ 5.

Ohh ok, that makes perfect sense now that I think about it. I'll make sure to address that in the next part.

And yeah, I'm certainly finding Deity to be more of challenge than I thought! Like I mentioned, I played through several Immortal campaigns and never really felt like I was falling behind, so it was a bit of a wake-up call to see a civ two eras ahead of me. Just out of curiosity, what sort of bonuses do Deity AIs get?

Oh, and pls don't take my fanboying over Might and Piety as "you should nerf these", I'd be very sad if that happened :p

Fanboying over something usually doesn't mean that they are overpowered. I mean I've been fanboying terrible things for ages :D

On a more serious note, I don't think Might is overpowered I think it is easy and feels strong, which is a perfect spot for it really. It got powerful policies but the most powerful of them (the happiness and culture from garrisoned units) require you to keep a garrison in every city, which is expensive.

On piety, I don't know really, I think it needs to be strong because the alternatives are pretty strong even if they are more specialized.

I won't - Might and Piety are in a good place right now. Strong, yes, but they both require a specific playstyle to truly maximize, which makes their strength variable. In your game, for example, Piety may not be the best choice, as religions seem to be slow to reach your empire. That's a fine balance, in my opinion.
