    Change Vikings to Danes

In order to compensate for the problem of Denmark being the Scandinavian hegemony in one era and Sweden in the next, I think it's easiest to call them Norse, have their capital at Copenhagen, and make dynamic names so that it can switch between Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Kalmar Union, what have you.

    Modscenario: Playable Byzantines, 610AD.

Yes, I still think some manner of Justinitian's reconquests need to be put in. Controlling Italy, North Africa, and Spain by some certain date (kind of weird, considering Justinian died in 565AD... but, oh well).

    Modscenario: Playable Byzantines, 610AD.

As a replacement for the renovatio imperii? I think recapturing Italy, Spain, and North Africa is more challenging than simply holding on to Greece, Anatolia, and the one/two cities in the near east.

    Modscenario: Playable Byzantines, 610AD.

I would say retake Italy, North Africa (Egypt + Numidia), and south-eastern Spain, as those were the areas retaken by Justinian's renovatio imperii. As for a date, it all depends on when the Byzantines spawn. Ideally they'd spawn at around 476AD, but it depends. The Hagia Sophia is fine...

    American Challenge

The settler maps are not the same as the stability maps. The settler maps dictate to the AI where to build cities, but have nothing to do with stability (although often they will be closely linked). America's settler map, afaik, does not stray too far away from North America, but its stability...

Make sure you only replace the two occurrences of getCivilizationShortDescription(0) with getCivilizationDescription(0) around line 2990.

    Suggestion: negotiating land with neighbors

Yeah, I've always felt it's silly to have a huge invading army not controlling the land they pass through unopposed. This would also prompt you to garrison your borders rather well, instead of shoving everybody in the nearest city, which is a bit inaccurate. However, I don't think this should...

Yes, I am thinking that this would be the best path for this project to remain viable and easy to update / use.

    Suggestion: negotiating land with neighbors

For this to work, the way borders are handled would have to be radically altered... instead of cultural borders (or maybe in addition to?) there would need to be "political" borders. I have always thought it would be better to have technical, actual borders determined by political means, with...

    Inflation - what is it?

Stopped reading after this. The fact that people believe this crap sickens me. Do some research, please.

    Inflation - what is it?

Did you even bother reading the thread? Obviously. If we make minimum wage $10 billion, the price scheme will readjust accordingly so that the "middle class" now makes $1 trillion and a candy bar costs $15 billion. How does this help? The real value of wages and prices remain constant...

Turn 91 without calendar and you're in Okhotsk via the New World, with a conquered Aztec and a conquered France and a vassalized Portugal... hmmm, worldbuilder much?

    v1.185

Just some general feedback about the patch... I played the Vikings in the 3000BC start. At my spawn date (540AD, iirc), every single civilization was extant: Babylonia, Egypt, Carthage, India, China, Rome, Greece, the Maya, etc. It took nearly 200 years for the first to collapse (Carthage...

    RFC: BtS Bug Reports

I started with 3000BC as England, with the intention of switching off to America in 1777AD... but, after the switch, America has no technologies, forcing me to start researching from the stone age.

    RFC Plays on its Own?

Switching civs undoes any changes you may have made in the "Options" menu, even though they appear to be checked. This is a known bug. Simply go to options, and uncheck and then recheck all of your options and it will function normally.

    Father's Day

I play Rome: Total War a lot and really like it. How is Empire: Total War and how does it compare? I am a little anxious to see musket battles (melee is the most fun, imo), but hopefully they've done it well enough.

Your units flipping to the rebels

And that "objective" piece was found from a one-page long Wikipedia article with only 1 verifiable citation, which doesn't even relate to the paragraph you cited... hmm... My only point is that Washington is a poor choice for a Great General unit; he hurt the revolutionary effort more than...
