    You generally get the effect of both buildings. So a city with 5 monastaries gets +50% to its science output, as well as getting the culture bonus from each of them

    No they're not. The Indian workers walk faster, they don't work faster. Sure, walking faster means that you can walk on to a hill and start a mine the same turn, or you can walk in to a forest and start chopping on the same turn, unlike regular workers, but even that is a 1 turn bonus at best...

    It's all about commerce. Your science output is basically determined by your total commerce. If you've got the slider at 100%, then that means you're converting 100% of your commerce is to science. So the more money you're making, the more science you're outputting.

    Yes and no. If they're not going to give them to you at any cost, then redding them out does save time and effort, which is a good thing as far as making sure the game plays at a decent pace. Unfortunately, it does deny one the chance to annoy the AI by making unreasonable demands :)

    It generally depends on the specific mod. Some work only on new games, others work on games in progress. As for that specific mod, I have no idea :)

    Personally, I'd like to be able to cut down forests around enemy towns and turn them in to catapults right on their doorstep :)
