  • Oh I see. It could be worse. You could know all sorts of French but have no practical application for those terms IRL.
    1. Children are going to become older and in any case they still think more rationally than any animal, the senile and mentally impaired still have souls.

What about plants? They are alive too! But just being "Alive" doesn't make you have a right to life.

In any case, I don't support the absolute right to life either. I support the death penalty for certain exceptional crimes, but that's an entirely different issue.

    2. No, you really couldn't, but my point was, if you want to think that vegetarianism is the only moral option, I don't have an issue with it. I would disagree with you, but I wouldn't really mind so long as you intended NOT to enforce it in the lawbook.
Well, I look at it as, animals are soulless, have nowhere near the brainpower of humans, and the entire makeup of their brain not only is or always shall be (Or at least for 10 million more years;)) Survival. Eat, sleep, laze around, whatever. There's not real variation or personality.

Now, I still do agree animals have basic rights, such as not to be forced to suffer and not to be mistreated (Though I would consider beating your pet dog a lesser offense than beating your child.) However, I don't really have a problem with vegetarians, as long as they do not intend to force it on others.
So do you think its wrong in the personal sense, or wrong in the sense that it should be illegal?

Second of all, do you object morally to the killing of animals all the time? For instance, insects? We have to to be able to exist. What about a starving family in India who kills a cow (Let's not debate if India's laws are actually valid, but is it wrong for them to do so?)
Traitorfish, I want to pretend to be annoyed that my satire was taken seriously, but I'm actually secretly pleased (in a bizarre, disgusting sort of way) that I was mistaken for srs.
Yeah that's what I think. I've been trying to justify eating meat but everytime I hear about the meat industry abuses it makes me sick. I just love the taste of it so much :(.
