    Byzantium has switched back to Christianity (eastern orthodox obviously) as a state religion. muslim and jewish peoples has a choice: do not convert and stay (restricted to the lowest class) stay and convert (you can be in any class) or leave.

    i can do this: adopt a Christian state relgion, but give the muslims and jewish epoplesm a fair representation in the government, and that they are allowed to do anything they wish.

    well fo course a leader is ok, it helps with organization. i just didn't think Jesus meant for that to happen.

    and no, the Emperor is not the leader of Orthodoxy. the patriarch of Jerusalem is. but since there isn't any, then the most senior surviving orthodox patriarch is in Constantinople. (actually it would be Antioch, but you banned me from taking that city... so, Constantinople.)

    that is what i am saying. im not sure of eastern orthodox organization is right either. basically what i am saying is we barely have records of early Christianity, so who knows what it should have been.

    but... i know that there wasn't supposed to be a pope. ever. there wasn't supposed to be a spiritual leader either. only Jesus can claim those two titles.

    (do not worry, i still recognize your pope. its suicide to not listen to the pope.)

    well the Catholics certainty aren't Christian. more and more people around me think that Catholic has evolved into its own religion.

    frankly, i agree with them. there was never supposed to be a pope or any leader of Christianity, only Christ himself can be the leader.

    OOC: to be honest, i believe that eastern orthodoxy is more true to Christianity than the Catholics are. Byzantium directly controlled Jerusalem from 395 to 637. so we had less than 300 years to study it.
