I don't really argue it that way since I don't tend to agree with government "Encouraging behaviors" but if they can encourage health behaviors by dictating rules about packaging, why can't they encourage morality by refusing to officially recognize gay marriages? I don't see any logical difference here, except that the gay marriage thing is even less a big deal because a gay marriage ban doesn't ACTUALLY stop you from doing anything you like. The soda thing prevents you from getting a 32 ounce soda. Sure you can get 2 16 ounces, but hey, its more inconvenient. So its encouraging a healthy decision. What's the difference between that and "Encouraging" morality by banning gay marriages?
