Produced by the Lumber Mill which is now unlocked at The Wheel.
Required to build early units including:
Siege Units: Catapult, Battering Ram, Siege Tower
Naval Units: Galley, Quadrireme, Caravel
Note: Timber is a bonus resource to prevent it from being traded. Lumber Mills are too frequent on the map which creates excessive Timber quantities. Excessive quantities enable the player to take advantage of the AI during diplomatic trade.
