There's a new greek video out that shows a bit of the beginning gameplay with Morocco, long look at the tech tree and a bit of social policies. Lots of greek talking that I don't understand, but maybe we have someone who can watch it and find out if he says anything interesting.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3a6ySIvag5Q

Here are my notes from watching it:

Tech changes:
Animal Husbandry:

New effect - Allows establishing an additional international trade route.

Sailing:

New effect - Allows establishing an additional international trade route.

Penicillin:

New effect - Allows establishing an additional international trade route.

Refrigeration:

New effect - Extends the range of sea trade routes.

Policy tooltips:
Liberty policies:

Adopting Liberty will provide 1 Culture in every city. Unlocks building the Pyramids. Adopting all policies in the Liberty tree will grant a free Great Person of your choice near the Capital.

Citizenship - Tile improvement construction rate increased by 25% and a Worker appears near the Capital.

Piety policies:

Mandate of Heaven - 20% discount on all purchases of religious units and buildings with Faith.

Honor policies:

Warrior Code - +15% Production when training Melee units and a Great General appears outside the Capital. Great Generals are earned 25% faster.
Discipline - +15% combat strength for melee Units which have another military Unit in an adjacent tile.
Professional Army - Gold cost of upgrading Military Units reduced by 33% and construct Barracks, Armories, and Military Academies 50% faster.

Increased produciton speed for military buildings from honor will be good. I jsut read someone on here the other day suggest honor needs that, or even free barracks like the tradition branch has free monuments, in order to help make it competitive with liberty and tradition starts

I like the theme music.

Damn, it is buggy as hell.

I recommend downloading it. The guy talking is a bit of a weirdo as well, I think at some point he said Morgan Freeman does the tech quote voice overs :p

Why doesn't he just make a farm until he discovers mining!

Also, the city screen makes city noises from what I hear. Was that always in?

I'm not sure if this has been seen before, but around 7:19, it can be seen that the logo for the barbarians is different on the processing turn interface.

Yea, it's a winged helm now.

Hearing the echo effects of Ashurbanipal just made his leaderscreen a whole lot cooler

Yeah, I was about to point that out. His screen is pretty atmospheric.

Is there only one video? It stopped short.

So we can finally hear the Main Theme... Somewhat... I cannot wait for Michael Curran and Geoff Knorr to update their websites, so I can hear the music without annoying voices over it.

I don't seem to be able to hear Morocco's theme... :(

Piety is available from the Ancient Era! Patronage and Aesthetics from the Classical Era, Commerce and Exploration from the Medieval Era, and Rationalism from the Renascence Era.

The player is not that good, is he? :p Give your worker something else to do if you don't have mining!

Someone know polish here? Translate Casimir's lines, please! :) Again, no Polish theme...

Wow, he is getting Policies quite fast!

Gajah Mada sound SOOO awesome! Again, translation please! :D This player is playing with no music, I'm sure!

Ashurbanipal sounds powerful! :shifty: Better not mess with him... What language is he talking?

Is this an Earth Map? It looks like an Earth Map...

And that is it! :D Still no Maria I... Still no civilization themes... Not much has happened...
Overall, meh...

And thus concludes my thoughts! :D

There's useful information in the tooltips that he accidentally mouses over, but it's frustrating to watch someone who clearly has no idea what he's doing. I don't see the logic in having someone preview an expansion to an existing game when he clearly hasn't the slightest idea how to play that game.

I also find it amusing that it starts with this lavishly-produced title sequence, and then cuts into the previewer's voice that sounds like he's talking on a bad long-distance telephone from 1980.

If Piety is in Ancient there are possibilities. Man with a buff and no rationalism lock go go Byzantium, you will not be a no UA civ anymore.

edit. I find it profoundly sad that the one video from a known civ player, zacminor, was also the shortest. He actually had enthusiasm too. I'm guessing Firaxis threatened him to keep it short knowing his civ knowledge would tell him what to give away.

Yeah, I was about to point that out. His screen is pretty atmospheric.

It was posted a few hours ago so there might be more coming. Someone needs to translate what he says at the end.

Lighthouse Old efects +1 production from sea resorces
Sydney had 3 Luxury resources.

Piety is in the ancient era!!!

That also means that Patronage is going to be in the Classical era, as we know that Aesthetics is there as well.

As Gali mentions, good boost for Byzantium, and a fairly big boost for the Maya as well (like they needed that). And it makes a Religion with a number of beliefs that affect Shrines and Temples a lot stronger.

Casimir's lines:

Initial greeting: "Ja, Kazimierz Wielki, witam Cię na ziemiach wielkiego Królestwa Polskiego." - "I, Casimir the Great, welcome you to the lands of the great Kingdom of Poland."

Let's hear it: "Zamieniam się w słuch" - "I'm all ears."

Neutral no: "Absolutnie nie." - "Absolutely not./Of course not."

Casimir's theme unfolds very slowly, with choir and strings, but I can't tell what it is based on yet.
