It seemed to be working for the first few turns, but within around 50-60 turns (on Marathon) it stopped. There's no goody hut reward for dispersing a barbarian clan. This, of course, completely broke my game. The error can be seen in the attached upload; simply disperse the clan with the war-cart and watch Epic Quest not work.

Yeah, it's just consistently not working with outpost after outpost. This is very frustrating.

Just to update, I went back and restarted the play-through. It's actually only the very first outpost that properly triggers Epic Quest. No others.

I just started a Sumeria game with barbarian clans yesterday. It worked on the first outpost and I got a eureka for clearing my fourth, but that was it. Since I haven't played as Sumeria much, I wasn't sure if I'm supposed to get a tribal village reward every time or just some percentage of the time. It was disappointing, but it didn't occur to me that it was a bug.

Interesting. Maybe they changed the rules so that now you only have a chance to earn a goody hut reward, rather than a guarantee. I kept playing, and in the attached save, the warrior is about to clear an outpost. This one yielded a reward.

Since that second successful outpost clearing, I haven't had the Epic Quest ability fire once. That may well have also been my fourth outpost of the game.

This should be fixed with the March 2021 Update - Version 1.0.11.16
  • Sumeria's Unique Ability Epic Quest has been updated for Barbarian Clans gameplay: When you disperse a Barbarian Outpost, receive a Tribal Village reward in addition to the usual Experience Points. Pay half the usual cost to levy City-State units.
