[1.0.7.9] Heroes, Beowulf the Vampire Slayer?

Not sure if this is a bug or working as intended... When Beowulf uses his challenge on a vampire, it appears the vampire is permanently dead. I did not see the vampire materialize anywhere. Can anyone confirm?

I found same thing.
I'm not sure whether this is intended or not.
(If intended, "destroy" would mean it.)
