1/3 Movement on Road == Evil

Back to the infinite transfer along road ideas. RR would now allow instant defender support to anyone along the road network. That means if a city is about to fall, any units along the rail network that were fortified(other cities) can be transferred over immediatley to fight, maybe with a combat penalty. This would make modern warfare a lot more difficult, as you would definitely have to attack infratrugtrue
.

I'll be happy with any road or railroad bouns movement in Civ4, as long as they make it moddable in the editor :)

I really get annoyed when people nitpick about the whole time being off... I mean seriously. If you want to nitpick about htat why are you even playing? THere are tons of messed up things about the time... BUT IN GENERAL IT IS ACCURATE! When it comes to discoveries and civ size etc etc.
I mean if you are gonna nitpick that RR should be infinitive becuase turns are about 2 years then why not nitpick your guys should just be able to move to whereever they want on the board???
Or you should be able to build like 4 or 5 city improvements per turn at that point... Or Workers should be able to irrigate the whol surrounding area of a city (this ofcourse would be early on... I mean centuries to irrigate???)
The game was made to be yearly accurate on what your guys can and can not do. The years are simply there for a reference to acheivment... THATS IT.

If you aren't happy with that concept you really shouldn't be in the turn based genre IMO. Stick with Start Craft or whatever.

Oh and as for a more effective movement, I made a thread but received little comments. Please read it if you havent. I thought I had some good ideas.. But I also think it should be tweaked and adjusted.

I never complained about turn scale, I complained about the HUGE, MASSIVE, GIANT leap between roads and railroads. Either railroads need to be slowed down(removes most of the defensive advantage you need in a modern war) or roads sped up. Roads did allow superfast transport in their day, just not compared to railroads and modern roads.
