********GAME FULL*********

Looking for players who want to controll two civs!

My plan is to make a PBEM game that is twice as exiting when you get your e-mail!

Here is what I propose

Map: Tilted Axis
Size: Huge
Climate: Temperate
Sea Level: Meduim
Era: Ancient
Speed: Normal
Landmass: Small Continents
Level: Nobel

I am planning on 12 civs with each human player controlling two civs, each human player's civs will take their turn in sucession. I am thinking 4 or 5 human players. This puts us at 2 or 4 computer controlled civs.

I figure this will take a few years to complete at one turn every two or three days so think about that before you sign up. My additude towards people finding themsleves unable to play durring vacations and other such things is lenient as long as you use this thread to notify everyone of your blackout dates. Any one who drops out for an extended period of time without warning will be replaced.

If you think this is interesting please message me your top 5 civ choices in order, your GMT, your physical location, and your e-mail address.

Thanks, I look forward to seeing you in the fake world!

Tim Ford

Players so far…

Tim Ford - Victoria English & Alexander Greece - GMT-7 - LA, CA, USA
Bathsheba666(aka Ozymandiaston) - Catherine Russia & Genghis Mongols - GMT+1 - London, England
Dazz_G - Napolean France & Hapshepsut Egypt - GMT+1 - Belfast, N Ireland
agemo - Fredrick Germany & Saladin Arabian - GMT-8

I would also like to join this one ... I will PM you shortly.

Bearing in mind the map is to be huge, would small landmasses reduce the possibility of any one player getting both their civs in one area and gaining an immediate advantage ?

That was my though in using small landmasses, that one player would be less likely to have his civs start next to each other.

If, however, a player starts with both civs next to each other then he/she has fallen into some good luck and other players should act accordingly.

As for passwords. I wasn't going to use them. That was it will be eaiser to replace someone if they dissapear (including me!). I trust that a Gentelman's agreement to not play your opponents turn would be good enough.

What do you think of this?

I feel passwords should be used.

Game organisers such as heihojin insist on having all passwords submitted to them upon startup for record keeping purposes ... it makes replacing any player simple and from this angle, heihojin's games keep moving quite well.

Tim: I would like to play but only if this is Warlords. If it is, I will let you know my info.

Yes, I'd play if it was Warlords as well.

So Bathsheba666 and Dazz_G, doesn't seem like anyone else is that interested in this game. Should we just start this on a smaller map, just the three of us and like three computer players?

What do you think?

I have no problems at all with just the 3 of us.

Other civ 4 games I've started with 4 players, a few have dropped, and eventually we gave up on replacements and just three of us are whizzing along on two games. There is a third we are in, but that still has a fourth player, and is a lot slower.

Having said that, I personally hate small maps, or even maps where you meet others soon.

So I would much prefer a large or huge map.
I also think we could have more than just a few ai tribes..make it six or more if you like.

Anyway, the one thing I hate more than small maps, is one person dictating to others what should happen, so rest assured I will go with the majority view on size, whatever you decide.

Bath I am totaly down, we will keep the game huge. I'm confused about what you are suggesting with tribes.

Would 12 civ's be good? With us controlling 6 (2 each) and the computer controling 6?

If this is cool with both you guys I am ready to start.

Dizz, you want to give me a password?

4 players is good.

I think we can have 14 or 16 civs in a civ 4 pbem, so 6 ai is still possible, but you may want to reduce it now we have 8 human tribes.

We have 2 players gmt and 2 players west coast.

As the play order will I assume be follow the sun you need playing times to set the order.
I can play anytime between 18:00 and 22:00 gmt.

Do we have any kind of commitment from individuals for their throughput?
I can usually do one turn per day, so the 2-3 per week suggested in your opener is fine by me.

I typically play twice a day, before and after work. On weekends I may do more.
My typical playing schedule will be roughly 7-8am then 9-11pm PST

Hey guys! I'm so excited this is comming together!

I will reduce the AI civs to 4.

I can play in the evenings gerneraly. So the order will go

Tim Ford
Bathsheba666
Dizz-G
Agemo

Or something like that.

It sounds like we can each take a turn regurlarly so this should be fun! Perhaps we will have the oppertunity to take a turn 4 or 5 times a week! Yeah!

I'll start it tonight.
