1933 ww2 v7.0

Some feedback from myself:
Playing as the 3rd Reich, I was unable to build Afrika Corps, but instead I had the Desert Infantry.
The Soviets should have 1 or 2 more cities.
The production speed of tanks and other military units is to fast. I basically didnt have to build infantry at all sice for the time it takes to build one Waffen SS I could build a Panzer IV or maybe wait 1 more turn which is not much. I suggest it to be 2-3 turns for infantry, waffen etc. and 4-7 turns for armored units, depending which unit it is. For example a Panzer II could be 4 turns while a Tiger 7 turns.
A normal army ratio is probably 3 infantry : 1-2 tanks : 1 artilery : 1 armored vehicle. I played with 5 tanks : 1 infantry :D
Also resources might be of bigger importance as well, especially oil.

Hi, your scenario is quite good, one thing that bothers me though is how units do not upgrade properly. The build list gets very crowded as Infantry I stays there, BT-2s can still be built 2 generations later, carrier can be built after you discover improved carrier and so on and so forth, this is the biggest problem with all the scenarios out today. Why does no one fix it?
 
It's connected to mod not scenario - the main reason was that idea of upgrading for example PzKpfW 38t to Maus - sounds like a nonsense to me. You can upgrade infantry quite easly - but upgrading armor divisions, ships needs to scrap everything and build once again - so they need hammers not money.

I'll add upgrade of mechanical units in future versions of mod (i would do this earlier, but i'm not fully convienced how it should work)
 
Okay well fine lets skip upgrading, but is it possible to at least remove them from the build list? I am aware it's connected to the mod, but as far as I know you're connected to mod as well.

So yah the main issue is build list clutter, also Ministry of Culture and other minstry wonder don't disappear from the list once built, they can be built again in a different city and once completed with disappear from the original city they were built in. Very odd bug...

Again though keep up the good work definitly a diamond in the rough here :-)

i'll check if it's possible - maybe it's possibility to setup obsole tech - i don't rember it right now.

Yeah ministries was made like palaces - i don't think it's bug - when enemy have taken your capitol (or it's high risk he'll do this) you can still move palace and ministries to other cities - they are very important for global (in all your cities) economy, production, culture, happiness etc - taking city with ministries can be key strategy for victory so i left possibility to move them to other cities.

in comparison to national wonders you should be able to build more than two in one city (the effect is for whole economy, culture, etc. not single city), and move to other cities when it's needed

Thanks for the feedback... Do you like the 1933 scenario the best because it is a world wide game - or is the European Theatre/War your main interest?

I would like to find a slightly disproportionate map which does make Europe a little bigger, and slightly diminishes the size of some of the other continents which are of lesser importance at that time, i.e. Africa, Siberia, South America, etc. - just for the sake of balancing the world by population density. But, I haven't seen that map yet. So... we have a lot of ancient cities to fit into Europe that can't fit, when doing a worldwide game. This is about all the fits on a map at the moment, and to go any bigger in map size would be very hard for most computers to handle.

Upgrades are a seperate issue I believe asioasioasio is working on or deciding if it is practical to put back in the game.

Again, I appreciate your comments and we will hope to have a new version out in the next 6 weeks or so.

I like 1933 scenario because is all world not only europe and is a specific climat:)

awsome mod, only complaints here are the leaders all look the same and it takes a long time in between turns also the ministrys wont disapear after you build them, but other than that great great mod, when are yall coming out with the new one??

The lack of leaders is solved - they'll be nice stack of them in next update :).
About ministries - it is intended to work as Palaces, but you're not first person you've noticed this - i'll change it.

1st September is release date - i hope it won't be any delay :)
 
Just a quick information about France.

Albert Lebrun is a mistake. It's true he was President of the Republic, but during the French 3rd Republic that's about as powerless as being the Queen of England. I guess the most influential French head of government during the 1930's was undoubtedly Léon Blum. He would probably be a better representative of France in your scenario. ;)

It probably could be something in between, depending on your skill level. You can change the "Calendar" by editing the "Public Map" prior to your startup by changing the Calendar=CALENDAR_SEASONS line to Calendar=CALENDAR_MONTHLY. ;)

Thanks for playing the game and we will consider changes when the next version is out. Hopefully it will be compatible with Warlords AND BTS.
 
I keep getting a CTD when I end this turn. I attached the savegame.

Also, the turns take 5-10 minutes to resolve. I have no problems with any of the other mods or Civ IV/Warlords in general.
 
jefmart1 - the game wasn't attached to post, but here is a guess...

Ensure you are not using the first version or two of this game, the wonders when completed made the game crash after ending your turn due to mod errors in the wonder movies.

Restarted as Russia using the updated files you sent me. Seems to be no problem.

Quick question: Is tech trading disabled?

Also, is there a reason that Poland is not separated out from the Neutrals?

Glad it's working fine... :D

Yes, Tech Trading is disabled in this scenario, to keep nations with unique advances from trading them to less advanced "friendlies" and taking the knowledge gained to a unhistorical level... they could trade to jets and more well before their time. You can certainly enable Tech Trading by editing the startup game file if you wished. :mischief:

Poland was put in with the Neutrals because it did not have a large enough power base and infrastructure to stand on it's own with two cities. I didn't include any nation with less than 3-4 cities as playable - just too unwieldy and unnecessary IMO. :sad:

Yup Poland would be to weak with only two cities (in global scenarios europe is always to small), couple of resources and being "kind of breakfest" for ussr or germany (with all respect to Poland - country where i come from :)) and it would make more lag than fun - each country takes much of computer's resources.
