2006/2007 College Basketball Thread

St. John's is awful, they had like 8 points in a HALF against Duke.

Texas should have beaten Kansas today if Durant hadn't twisted his ankle. Thank goodness he is not brittle though. This team is turning out to be MUCH better than I thought they could be. Poor A&M, thinking there was a sport they could be better at then UT

GAAAAAAAHHH

American had Holy Cross by the BALLS in the Patriot League semis...had a 10 point lead in the second half, but Simmons got a twisting layup to go in with like, 3 seconds left. Holy Crap wins by 2.

AU might have snagged an NIT bid with a win...and would have been a game away from its first NCAA apperance. We graduate our top 4 scorers this year. Crap..we're going to suck for a while.

Have we ever had a March Madness pick'em thread? Maybe we could start it with the conference tournaments...the big ones I mean, since all the smaller ones are over.

Local Update: MY TEAM, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, has a really good shot at winning the Southland Conference and being in the tournament :D If you remember, the rep from the Southland (Northwestern St.) won in a major upset in thier opening game. SOUTHLAND REPRESENT!

Al Costa Maryland Hate Update: The Terps lost to Miami, so much for being a 1 see

Air Force just lost in the MWC first round, thus now playing themselves into some serious bubble trouble.

Go BYU baby.

Oh my, can this day get any more perfect. Both Duke AND Maryland lost today. The site of Maryland lovers, because I posted that I told them so, are pissed at me, but whatever, at least North Carolina didn't lose to Miami.

And tomorrow, Ohio State gets to beat Michigan for the third time in 18 days...oh, how satisfying!

I love living in ACC country. We get to watch tight, exciting games all day while other people suffer through "20-16 at halftime" snoozefests.

Too bad our refs are the worst in the business; we could've had 3 overtime games. Maybe this gets FSU in the tourney, though; they're a decent team, and Al Thornton is an absolutely sick player.

Shortguy, what's the deal here with the hostility? Still bitter over the recent loss to Wake? Or maybe it's being one of the few teams to lose to a Big 10 team during the Challenge. That's it? Isn't it? You still haven't gotten over that have you? Still having nightmares of Tarrance Crump hitting that floater with 1 second left on the clock to win the game? Just remember, as Azale would put it, "Flukes happen." Granted, it was your 3rd loss in the Challenge, but as Azale would say to that "Flukes happen." You have to learn to move on, or you'll never find peace in life. ;)

You know, I'm not sure. I think "hostility" is a bit of a mischaracterization, though. Just some bragging, maybe. :p

A little, but that's irrelevant. It was ours, doggone it!! ;) Just goes to show, though, there's really no easy away game in the ACC.

No, we've always been pretty bad away, and though we're pretty good this year that hasn't really changed. The last second loss against Stanford was worse. Anyway, that was what, 5 months ago? There's been a lot of basketball played since then.

Really now, a Big 10 fan reaching to the ACC-Big 10 Challenge to prove a point is pretty weak. 8-0 now, is it? :p And OSU's record isn't really pristine either.

Miami is up by 10 on Boston College. I really hope Carolina gets the chance to beat them by 40 again.

Bragging?? If you were referencing a conference like the Big East or Pac-10, I'd understand, but the Big 10??? Geez, isn't that like gloating over the Big East in football?? :p

Kind of like the Big East, a basketball conference peer.

OSU's record isn't pristine (and we also aren't haven't been good til recently at Bball), but we aren't the ones bragging, now are we? ;)

You said it, not me. ;)

I was bragging about the ACC in general, not about Virginia. God knows we don't have much to brag about from the last 8 years...
