2006/2007 College Basketball Thread

Well look at the Big 12! Texas, Texas A&M, Kansas...and no one else. HEAVY AT THE TOP BABY!!!

Kinda like the football version of the Big 12, minus A&M and Kansas :p

You said it, not me. ;)

I was bragging about the ACC in general, not about Virginia. God knows we don't have much to brag about from the last 8 years...

Well, it's pretty obvious the Big 10 is top heavy, just like Azale said about the Big 12.

And actually, here in Ohio we've gotten a decent amount of the ACC tourney games. Right along with the B10, P10, MAC, A10, BE, and the tens of minor conference championship games they are showing on ESPN.

Pop Pop Pop! Thats the sound of bubbles breaking. Nevada and Xavier lost, so the WAC and the A10 are suddenly multi-bid leagues. (Utah St. and George Washington?)

A&M CC is in the finals, woot. They could be a problem for some teams in the first round...I hope they get the 16 seed if they win, so they can be the first 16 seed to beat a 1 seed ;)

With Selection Sunday on hand, place your bets on who will be 1 seeds.

I'm going with:

1. Ohio State
2. Kansas
3. Florida
4. Wisconsin

#1 seeds
Ohio State
Kansas
Florida
UCLA/Wisconsin (if Wisconsin beats Ohio State, they get a #1 seed. If not, UCLA.)

#2 seeds
UCLA/Wisconsin
UNC
Georgetown
?

I'm not quite sure who to put as #2 for the last spot - Memphis? Amazing record, undefeated in conference play, 22 game win streak, but C-USA isn't really a powerhouse conference. We saw what happened last year when they were a #1 and lost in the Elite Eight. A team like Texas A&M, Pittsburgh, Louisville, and Nevada have all lost 2 games recently in their past 3 or 4.

Well, a lot can happen today, so that'll could make the two seeds clearer. For example, if Florida losses, they'll certainly drop to a two seed; the same thing with Kansas. However, I think Wisconsin and Ohio State are assured of 1 seeds due to the fact that the seeding has to be completed before the game is over (since they release it right after the B10 championship).

Easy schmeezy lemon peezy

1. Ohio State
2. Kansas
3. UCLA
4. Florida

I still don't see why UCLA deserves a 1 seed. They've lost 2 games in a row.

1. Kansas
2. Wisconsin
3. Florida
4. Ohio State

they make the seedings before the Big 10 title game. OSU is a 1 seed *lock*, and I think, ought to compete for the 1 overall seed. Its either us or Kansas.

WOOOO A&M CC WON!! Now, to see who will blow us out in the opening round :D It's still amazing though. This school didn't even get an athletics department until 1999. We almost blew it at the end there and we can't offensive rebound to save our lives, but Chris Daniels is a stud.

Texas up 4 over Kansas, was at one point 19 points up...

Wow, best Conference Championship game by a LARGE margin! OT now, Kansas with a small lead.

Where is everyone? :p

EDIT: It looks like their shooting FT's now, Kansas has this pretty much inhand...this team dissolved a 20+ point lead like nothing, they will be very dangerous. I mean, I would be surprised if they didn't make the Final Four.

Where is everyone? :p

Driving back to school after Spring Break.

Shame that NCSU fell short; heck of a run they put up.

Florida is the No. 1 overall seed. that's shocking, but I'm glad. I think the SEC tournament proved that when focused, there's nobody better in the land.

WTH?!?! #1 in the SOUTH???? And Florida #1 in the Midwest???? What the heck. They just got done saying how they try to keep the teams as close to home and they give us this crap.

They only do that for the first 2 rounds. You'll notice that the opening round venues aren't tied to region anymore (i.e., some west region games are in Columbus).

Brackets are out.
