2006/2007 College Basketball Thread

Ok, people down here are a little off their rocker. They're saying UF's win over Ohio State is a sign that UF will beat tOSU in football now. I mean, I'm a Gator, but that's just a little bit ridiculous.

Spank.down! Wow Florida is absolutely pounding OSU. They're goooood.

UCLA looked great today as well and the Pac 10 overall looks awfully solid conferencewise.

Washington State about pulled one out of the hat vs UCLA last night :wow: .
Neither team looked exactly up to Florida in my opinion.

The Pac 10 has been playing mighty good ball though. I think we had the best record of all the majors before conference play.

Wash. State has only lost 2 games so they may be better than given credit. Arizona put the hammer on Cal, though. :mischief:

It could be the first year in a long, long time where we see reasonably tough Pac 10 conference games.

North Carolina lost to Gonzaga correct? Who is on a four game losing streak?

Pssh, Florida would beat UNC by 20 right now ;)

Rebuilding ACC teams don't lose to Air Force by 40 or so points. :p

Hey I can take the crap talk, but just wait--- they'll be back--- maybe not
soon but they'll be back. Air Force will make the tourney. It was just an
off night for Wake, they usually only lose by 20  . Prosser is just
picking out some land to 'start' the rebuilding.

I swear, we're a top 10 team when playing at home, and a Big South cupcake when playing away.

I'm a Duke fan, but I think their ranking of #5 (it's going to go down now since they lost to VT) is way too high. They committed 20+ turnovers today, and in the last few minutes of regulation they must've turned it over 5 times. Paulus is really having trouble at PG, getting himself trapped and then making a bad pass far too often. DeMarcus Nelson is the only one they can consistently count on.

I hate them, and I also disagree with their ranking :D

But who saw Washington lay it up over Paulus?

I saw that as well...

Georgetown (from DC, so maybe you like them as well) did real well against Notre Dame today too. It was something like 23-6 real early.

Honestly though, don't be that person that's like "I hate Duke. Duke sucks. They're ranked too high. Players have no talent. UNC all the way." I can't stand those people. Just because you don't like them doesn't mean you can't give them some credit. I like Duke, but at least I admit UNC is the better team this year, and they deserve to be #2.

Duke fan too, #10 -#15 is more reasonable I think. Turnovers have been the achilles heel all year, they are very sloppy with the ball. Their shooting % is actually higher than last year but they are getting less shots due to the turnovers. Mcroberts has had @ 5 game games in a row now.

dude, pawpaw, I don't know if I've asked this, but how did you end up as a Notre Dame AND a Duke fan? Glutton for hate? :p

I absolutely despise Duke and anyone who saw them play knew they were overrated. They lost to a good team (Marquette) and haven't played a single other decent team. I'll give them credit for at least winning those games, but not more.

Duke beat Gonzaga.

Gonzaga beat UNC.

I'm not trying to prove that Duke is better than UNC, but you can't go on about how Duke is severely overrated and not other teams. And Duke's easy schedule isn't their fault...conference games just started this week. ALL teams play weaker teams for the first 10 games or so.

North Carolina has played Tennessee, (#6)Ohio State, Gonzaga (Loss), and Kentucky.

Duke played Marquette (Loss), Georgetown, and Gonzaga.

I can say Duke is overrated. They have not played exceptionally well in any game they have played. Their quality wins were each by 9 or 7 points. North Carolina won by 21, 9, and 15 in their "quality wins." North Carolina has played a lot better than Duke this season. Duke has not played like a top 5 team this year, and they showed it today when they finally got challenged by someone.

Virginia was beating Gonzaga by 34 points at halftime, and won by 21.

Virginia lost to Appalachian State.

What's your point? :p
