I'm playing my 2nd Civ III game and built the UN HQ in 2049 (sheer luck, not timing). I was offered the chance to hold the election, I ended up losing. Apparently I'm not a nice world citizen.

I restarted the game from a previous save (approx 2045) and played some more. This time I declined the election and ended up winning at retirement.

Here is my question:

It's now 2165 and I haven't been prompted for another election. Is this because I've already won?

ALSO, I've built all the space ship components, but I am unable to see the spaceship screen anymore. (I could before I completed the last component)

Are all non-violent winning options removed after you've retired (at 2050)?

thx

Actually all victory options are removed after 2050. You can continue to play the game, but no scores will be recorded.

Actually, all winning options are removed after 2050 -- you can conquer every civ and settle every tile of dry land, and the game will keep on running (although you will get to see your foreign advisor adivising you to "Make more friends!").

Edit: cross-post with Thunderfall -- scary congruity in language; one of us must get more creative ;)
