2K First Lie : Walk your Talk

The issue that brought me into this in the first place was when 2K Elizabeth stated that she had collected all this data about how the community yearned for Steam.

Its been 2 months since 2KE dodged my request for her to walk her talk and show some evidence of this. Another forum member reminded me she hasnt coughed up the data. So I'd like to re-issue this request.

I don't have a nifty chart or graph for you, if that's what you are looking for, however I run our customer service group and I frequent the 2K Games forums as well as read feedback from consumers across many blogs/forums for all our titles - it's that information that helps us make these decisions.

This answer is simply unacceptable. I do not beleive your job is so nebulous that you would not be required to put together some sort of presentations of the data you are gathering. When the choice to add Steam was on the table someone would have asked for a report on the reaction.

In my opinion the suits blew off that data and then you lied about it, which is why we shouldn't allow you to speak with perceived authority in this community. Civ does not exist to boostrap your employer's social media marketing scheme.

What does that we mean? You, sir, are certainly not a representative of "this community". It's you who shouldn't speak with perceived authority in this community. While it's true that Elizabeth, 2k, Firaxis or anyone else for that matter is not above criticism, yours is not a criticism. And should be rewarded as such, if you ask me.

Evrett it's extremely rude of you to continue to make jabs at her, I really do not think it's justified at all. I have no doubt at all that she has made the feelings of the community clear, but also keep in mind that it's not 100% negative. Even in the community polls that I've seen there's usually more people saying they're buying even with Steam than those who say they won't be. You are making the mistake of assuming that your opinion is the one that is right, and that things have to go your way otherwise the world will come to an end.

Elizabeth is extremely hard working and dedicated to her job day and night. I mean, she's often still doing work when at home for the sake of the community. She is not obligated to show internal documents, emails, or any other data that she has put together on the matter of community opinions on Steam. I have never seen a CM at any studio or publisher give out internal documents in order to satisfy someone's paranoia that they aren't doing their job right. Most companies prohibit the release of those types of docs anyways. If you've ever worked anywhere near the industry you'd know that just about everything has a confidentiality notice on it.

Just please back off already, this is getting to be really obnoxious. If you think Elizabeth doesn't care about the community you're dead wrong. She is quite possibly one of those most pro-community people I've ever seen in the industry.
