The Civilization III Hall of Fame has been updated. 59 games were accepted during the last 2 weeks.

Congratulations to Bartleby for the highest Firaxis score of the update with a milked Huge Monarch game for 30292 points.

William of Orange was the most active player during this update, submitting 10 games of varying types, including all victory conditions except diplomatic.

Only one player was brave enough to take on Sid this update. Moonsinger submitted a 130BC Small Sid Domination and a 1440AD Tiny Sid Spaceship, both new #1s.

A number of players gained number one positions:

Congratulations to killercane for becoming the 4th player to become a Quartermaster.

A number of players are working towards the Quartermaster, gaining awards as follows:
Machavelli : Xeroyne & a space oddity became full Machiavellians.
Pentathlon : Tone, killercane, Dianthus and Denniz became full Pentathletes.
Octathlon : Tone became an Octathlete.
Histographic : Xeroyne completed his first Histographic game.

There have also be some changes to the website since the previous update. These are pretty obvious visual changes. Thanks to Mistfit and Lyonesse for the icon/award graphics :goodjob:.

Congratulations to everyone, and to the staff. The icons are eyecatching but [nitpick] the one for "level" seems superfluous as the tables are already by level [/nitpick].
On a personal note I was secretly hoping that I'd get the highest firaxis score of the update so woo-hoo for me :D
In case anybody is bored or curious enough, I included my 2049 AD save in the submission and if you so wish you can win by any of the legal in-game victory conditions...

Any? You mean space, diplomatic, 20k, 100k, conquest and domination are all possible? :)

Great update for me - I don't have to change my sig.. :D
New cool graphics too!

The level icon isn't superfluous if you're looking at a game somewhere other than the tables. i.e. Looking at the update itself, or looking at games on the machiavelli/pentathlon/octathlon. New icons look good, but I think it will take some time to get used to them, I have to think about what sort of game it was rather than just reading text for it.

Love the graphics. They will take a bit of getting used to but well done to all involved.

@sanabas: Trust me to choose the same empty space as you for a Large Regent Conquest attempt with Iroquois. You beat me by four turns so I'll need to try a different spot now if I want a number one conquest game! :)

Nah, do the same one again, it's not that strong a finish. I started on the far right of the pangea, it was a long, long march to finish off the last 2 AI's. A central start would have cut minimum 10-15 turns off my finish. I was trying to turn myself into a half-arsed master before this update, I picked the easiest & quickest to play open slot to get a 2nd conquest game. RL and self destructing sid games got in the way though. Should get it done for next update though, and I just submitted a 20k Sid game. I'll write that one up tomorrow, I want to have a whinge about the lack of SGLs. :)

Well you both picked a category that I am currently working on! I wasn't trying very hard because the category was open (no mapfinder, no ag trait - just did ctrl-q). I still have a long way to go but I just built my first-ever rider army, and it rocks. I guess I'll settle for being in the top 10, and bring out all the tools preparing for the next one.

Nonetheless it will give me Machiavelli, one closer to Pentathlon and one closer to Octathlon.

Nice work both of you :goodjob:

The new format look great, Dianthus! :goodjob: Thank you for the hard works you and the HoF staffs have done to resurrect this forum.

 Of all the empty catagories it's amazing that we chose the same one.

As sanabas has already said, these dates can be beaten. In my case I waited a little too long before starting the first war. I also didn't realise that I was at the top of a horseshoe map until it was too late, got the balance wrong on distribution of troops and I didn't have any boats to transfer them quickly when one side was defeated. At this level mounted warriors are formidable and sooooooo cheap so I never ran out of troops; it was more a case of getting them where I needed them. Still conquest is a new skill for me and practice makes perfect so I'm happy enough with the result.

Quite strange to see that I'm the first player to score the most slowest Domination Victory on large Emperor maps. Well, at least I reached the highest score on any of large maps. I'll probably try the milking score on Huge maps, however I'm kinda lazy and impatient to manage my huge empire waiting probably 10 - 30 minutes every game turns to see other rivals moving their SOD against other AIs and telling their workers what to do. This is also the case for SID huge maps.

Congratulations everyone!

Submission cutoff for the First May update will be simply end of the month.

I assume you have something in store for us for the event and QC award winners. Looking forward to seeing them. :)

I'd like to thank Lyonesse for doing the lettering on these. She did a wonderful job as expected :goodjob:
I'm absolutely horrible at the lettering portion of graphics (and I can't spell worth a dang)

Sounds like a good idea. I can't comment on the pictures as either my broadband or the CFC server is slow right now. They aren't showing up and the links time out. I will try again later.

Edit: Ah. Something changed. They look good! :goodjob:

I guess I should have bumped this a day or so ago. The update will definitely be on Sunday. ;)
