I couldn't find an appropraite thread and was loath to start another ... so decided to cleanup this old party space ... and have ordered plenty of tobacco and beer ... and dancing women

... what I really wanted to do was congratulate Civ General on the city's name ... saw a documentary on Heron ... man he was one of the forgotton thinkers and master of special effects ...

He designed, using water filling counterweights large temple doors to open automatically ... as if by devine magic when the head priest lit the sacred fires ... man in those days no wonder the Gods were alive and well ...

He also developed war machines which were unlike any previous ...

I also think that much of his work was lost in Alexandria's fire
