Nonconformitist, no they were 4 normal boats, among them the small coastal submarine "Perla".
PH, you´re wrong but in the right direction. They were not transferred to the German navy. But what happened to them?

I'm gonna say the Germans done a Mers-el-Kebir and destroyed the fleet before the British could use the subs against them?

No idea, it was a guess.

No, remember where ETHIOPIA is!

Ehiopia is a land lock country. It's cloest neigbour being Eritheria which is boardered on the sea. So Iam guess that the fleet was station with the nile and the lake / river area. Reason why the fleet consisted of small sized vessels.

Iam guessing that the fleet ended up on stranded on dryland.
Not really worth the effet getting them up all the way back upto Egypt and the Med.

Eritrea was Italian Somaliland until ww2. It belonged then for a long time to Ethiopia, until the 1990s. So my question is, what happened to these 4 submarines. A hint they drove away, but where and no, not to the Japanese.

awwww man, I can't believe I said that. it sounded good at the time but thinking more about it makes it seem rather bizarre :crazyeye:

Ok, if they drove away........ has to be Europe, there's no allies that I can think of nearby, erm.... Vichy France? North Africa maybe?

Okay since now it is only guessing: The boats arrived at Brest a few month after the forces in Ethiopia surrendered. They had no cusualities on their way around Africa. And this happened with a coastal submarine!
So Stevie I think you can ask now.

Adler

Thanks Stevie.

At the end of 1918, a few hours away from the armistice, an American army captaiin in France ordered his troops to keep firing to the very last moment before 11am on the 11th of November. Who was this captain, and why can this be seen as symbolic?

I almost replied without thinking there. forgot I just asked a question  I'll let someone else answer. IF you've got it, go get your Horrible History book, it's in there ;)
