3.13 patch installation path

the patch 3.13 does not allow to specify the installation path. It automatically chooses a path, which in my case is a wrong one. It is installed automatically on the C drive, probably taking the standard installation path. But CIV4 and BTS is installed on a different drive, so everything is screwd up.

I tried to manually copy the files over, but the program crashes immediately to the desktop (right after clicking the exe and before getting to any screen).

How can this problem be fixed?

unfortunately nothing short of a full uninstall and reinstall of Civ4 and BtS to the default locations seems to help - the patch installer just has some paths hardcoded and won't let you change that

I would trust that Firaxis are professional enough to bring out a patch for this.

*sigh* me too - unfortunately we have not heard from them yet... no one knows if there will be a new patch and if so when to expect it (they also broke Multiplayer between people with and without BtS with this patch, which would also warrant a new one...).

I have managed to fix it. I had to uninstall BTS but not CIV. It was not straightforward as the installation was broken and did not automatically uninstall.
I do not post here the procedure, as it involves manual changes to the registry and can easily screw up other stuff.

For those who do not have installed 3.13 yet:
adapt the program files path to program files to actual path before the civ directory and then install the patch. After installation the change can be reverted. Do NOT restart windows inbetween!
If windows crashes, inbetween, the fix has to be done manually.

This is really not nice, the development team should take action!

I followed advise of others to reinstall, how ever Civ4 did not completely uninstall. And yes, I have folders created in a few different places. I'm tired of uninstalling everything (Civ4, Warlords, BTS). I can play Multi with random events off. I just felt like . .. .. .. .. .ing.
