Hey are those flags actually animated? If so that's awesome. One other thing, I would probably use a larger texture for the British flag.

Those look quite a bit like the ships from Pirates! I know because I recently managed to get them into Civ4 also.

If not, then well they really look quite similar

Yeah they are from Pirates! BTW FFH2 also have Pirates ship.
