I just re-installed Civ 4 Complete and it will be at least a year before I move up to a 64 bit system, there's no making it happen any faster.

I just tried Caveman 2 Cosmos and going into it I knew there was a high likelihood it wouldn't load. I got almost to the start of play and it died. I'm thinking the massive size of the mod was the issue. I can play other mods of smaller size without issue, so obviously it's mods that are in the gigabyte size that my system can't handle.

My system:

  • Win XP SP 3
  • 2 GB ram
  • Intel dual core 2.8 Ghz
  • Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT 1 GB

So my question is this:

  • Which Mods don't crash to the desktop on a 32 bit system?

VIP reporting for duty on 32 bit systems :wavey:

I designed it with memory consumption in mind, and while small in size (80 something Mb) it adds tons of new stuff and quite a few concepts only seen in this mod.

In fact, most of the mod was designed on a 1.5 GB ram, 128MB Nvidia, XP machine.
Though I wouldnt recommend running neither Giant or Colossal map sizes with those specs ;)

Screenie is on Huge Map (Big & Small) with 18 civs (16 left) 1650x990 (custom windowed) resolution. Modern Era. Turn times is around 1 minute (with lots of wars going on)
My current specs : 8800 GTS 512MB Nvidia, 4 GB RAM and E7300 2.66 GHz Intel Core Duo 2

Just tried them both and you're absolutely correct, 0.92 is much more complete. Very impressive work!

Now I just need to find my way through the tech tree >_<

It takes a little getting used to, as things have been tweaked a bit. Now, if only someone would flesh out the FE a little bit more :mischief:.

ROFL! Will do Oh Great One!
