3CC AW PTW Monarch

Unless others have a problem with his 21, I'm cool with playing 9.

Once one person says I can play, I'll go.
 
Either way, all out archers aren't as good as all out archers and a couple of spears... I'm going to be flying 18 hrs for now, so we could either skip me, hope that killerkid goes quickly, or switch killer and me in the roster for one turn. Also, do we want CB more than militaristic techs like IW or wheel? (all the good squares in the new cities are outside the first 9)

@glenmetz: What's done is done, but for the future, 10 turns. 5 when we get to the IA. ;)
 
OK, I'm done.
Things are moving slowly but steadily.

If we are aggressive, in 4 turns we will have a 3 archer raiding party outside the Jap city. I didn't attack in this set, since 2 archers aren't enough.

If we play conservative, in 7 turns we can have a party of 6 archers and a spear for defense outside of the Japanese city.

We got Writing, and will get CB in 1 turn. I researched CB because as Qoou said, a lot of productive squares are outside the original 9.

The set:

Turn 0-1725 BC- ZZZZ

IBT-Jap archer kills one of our warriors. (0-1) Yellow scout comes by. Uh-oh.

Turn 1-1700BC-Our archer kills a warrior, and our warrior kills a warrior (2-1)
Yellow scout is Mongol. They are 4 techs ahead of us, but lack writing. Pity we couldn’t wait to DOW them. We Declare war.

Turn 2- 1675 BC- Our injured warrior retreats, archer will be fully healed by next turn.

IBT- Bergen Archer>Archer

Turn 3- 1650 BC- Moving units

IBT- Our archer kills Jap archer. (3-1) 2 more Jap archers appear. Oslo Archer>Archer

Turn 4-1625 BC-One archer kills Jap archer, one archer loses to one (4-2)

IBT- Jap archer kills our warrior (4-3) Writing>CB in 5 turns at -1 gpt Trondheim Spear>Spear.

Turn 5-1600 BC-An archer kills a Jap archer (5-3). We so far have had 4 elite victories, so leader chances should be coming soon.

IBT-Jap warrior appears.

Turn 6-1575 BC-Move injured archer away from warrior.

IBT-ZZZZ

Turn 7-1550 BC-Get reinforcements of 3 archers and a spear closer.

Turn 8-1525 BC-ZZZZ

IBT-Oslo Archer>Archer

Turn 9-1500 BC-Send 3 archers near Jap city.

I'm still here; I'll have to play tomorrow morning at like 5 though; killerkid, didn't the Mongols have any cheap techs like Wheel or CB that we could've bought? The scout right by our main force is going to be useful (we can capture it, right) until we can get some horsies out. I'm going to go IW, is that OK with every1? I'm probably going to wait for the main force; I don't like attacking with only 3 units in the AA... I'm going to get a temple in Bergen Asap (arch due in 1 means it should finish relatively quickly). (This is my "got it")
 
They had CB, IW, Masonry, and the Wheel. They wouldn't sell us CB- we only had 80 gold.

Are you sure? I could've sworn I captured a scout with Russia a couple of months ago... Neway, we need to get everyone else in a war, so that their research rate goes down...

I edited that for you :smug: . And yes, choxorn's right. Scouts would rather die than be captured. I think the idea is that non-expansionists can't have scouts anyway, so a civ that can't physically have a unit must kill it.

That's right a catapult would be destroyed if captured by a civ that didn't have mathematics, I've seen this happen.

Yeah, I meant set. However he said he'd play this morning at 5, and it is 15 hrs past it on my time. (EST)
 
Okay, something tells me qoou isn't playing his set, got it. I'll play tonight.
 
I didn't have enough time to upload it; sorry. Choxorn, watch your diplo screen every turn; I had to restart because my contact got sold... Also, 1 archer can take out all those annoying barbs.
