I've tried to contact Dazz, but he has not responded. I would offer to take his turn for him, but I don't know is password. I'm crossing my fingers he turns up soon.

Wow. So there is no way to kick a player from a game so someone can take over even if passworded? That sounds weird. The admin can't take it over? Cant the player be kicked for a turn with the AI taking over and then have a human take over the following turn? I'm just throwing out ideas.
We're not that far in so I guess restarting is okay. The alternative seems to be just sitting idle or letting this game die. Its been quite a while now. Waiting until January at this point seems a bit silly. Even if he's on a long holiday I wouldn't give him more than another week.

We might not have to restart. This is what Ruff_Hi posted in another game regarding Dazz G's disappearance.
"the utility 'saveconvert' will enable you to swap out a human for an AI and the password doesn't come into it."
I've never used it myself. I doubt it is a mac app.

Hey all,
I have some very bad news. This morning I received an e-mail from his wife who had just noticed my e-mails expressing concern for his disappearance.
She has informed me that Dazz G was in a "serious road accident. The kind which is very near fatal."
Right now he is in the hospital for an indefinite amount of time. He is completely bedridden and unable to do pretty much anything, much less be able to sit at a computer. According to her he has no alternative right now but to drop all of his games.
His wife talked with him about me and the forum. She says his memory is still very vague but he remembers playing civilization with us. He insists that he remembers his passwords and has given them to her, and she has given them to me. He has requested that I try to notify the participants in all of his games and that I assist in replacing him with the passwords.
He has also asked that I let everyone know why he has disappeared and to pass on that he wishes us all well and hopes to return to the gaming scene again some day.
For now Spikeit can e-mail me his turn and I will take it until I can get a replacement.
