By turn 278, I had 5 cities, sizes 22, 21, 21, 12 and 9, for a total of 17.3M pop.

The Iroquois led with four cities, sizes 60, 51, 39 and 9, for a total of 184.6M pop.

The other five surviving civs had populations ranging from 48.2M to 96 M.

Do the AI totals seem weirdly high, or could it be a coincidence?

I haven't seen this happen, so a savegame and mods folder would help. :)

This is the game where I was going broke near the end as well. The save is effectively one turn after I finished, but in this one I haven't launched.

I got the Mods folder out of the trash, so let me know if there's a problem. I used InfoAddict and Custom Notifications as well.

What difficulty level do you play on? It's most likely some mistake I made in my recent changes of the difficulty settings. It's the only place I know of where the AI is treated differently than the human for growth purposes. I haven't figured out exactly where the problem might be, if there is indeed a bug, but am doing some testing.

I played on Immortal until v6.8, and then switched to Emperor.

It doesn't really bother me, either, since it boils down to an AI buff. Oddly my growth seems right.

I'm not sure if this is the same thing, but the Inca's population started sky rocketing in my most recent game before I started again.

I'm using v6.9, game was on King? (1 above normal) and epic time period.

Attached is a screenshot of Infomatic as well as the lands that the Inca was settled on; Save + Mod files are included as well.

If the Inca aren't you, it probably is. Thal said he was checking it out, but hadn't found n immediate answer.

I was Siam in that game, so I imagine it's the same cause.

Thought Thal could use some more data sources, helps eliminate causes.

It doesn't look like it's a bug unique to the Iroquois; neither the difficulty level Immortal or Emperor.

24 seems like a relatively reasonable number... I've noticed small civs tend to shoot for high growth. The earlier-mentioned 60-pop cities did seem odd, though I haven't seen the circumstance yet in my games. It would help if we could figure out what's actually leading to the growth (seeing it after the fact makes it more difficult to figure out the source).

I've attached a game where there seems to be early evidence of excessive AI pop growth. Siam has only two cities, and is probably friends with only one Maritime. He doesn't have great food resources, but has triple the pop compared to my two (with a Maritime ally). This could be a false alarm, but thought it may be worth glancing at.

I'm also using the IA and CN mods.

Considering the other problems we've run into, this one might also be caused when multiple versions of the mod are installed. Let's try and figure out if this happens if only one version is in the Mods folder. :)

Considering the other problems we've run into... good thinking. I'll wait for another hame with what - 100M+?
