Civilization VI - Game of the Month 40
Welcome to the 40th game in the 6OTM Series! These games will allow new and old GOTM fans to try out the new features in Civ6 in a friendly environment. Participants are encouraged to post questions, stories, advice, tricks and failures in the dedicated game threads (described below). Each game will specify the Civ you will play and the Victory Condition to strive for. We will be working to refine the 6otM concept as we move ahead with the series.

Must Read!
We would like to ask you to abide by our most sacred rule: Don’t replay any turns! If you make a mistake, accept it and try to recover. To ensure fair play and prevent results exclusions, please set your Autosaves to 1 turn. In the event of a computer crash while playing, just reload to the previous save and play it as closely to how you played it the first time. Please let Leif, or Myself know (via Conversation (Private Message)) if you experienced a crash and how many turns you replayed. Gifting of cities is an exploit in a religious VC the AI cant see that it will lose if it accepts the cities.

Information about threads associated with each individual 6otM -- Must Read if you are new to our Game of the Month!

Spoiler :
Please note: If you wish to make a video of your game, please do not post any links to it until after the game submission date has passed. This is because of the potential spoilers that are created by posting before the end date. Thank you for your cooperation.
Announcement thread (this one): This thread is used to announce the game and clarify the settings and rules (don’t be afraid to ask questions). It’s also used to discuss the game before you start, and post problems with opening the save. Once you have opened the save, DO NOT POST in the Announcement thread, even non game-related information. Instead use the next thread.
Opening Actions thread: This thread is used to discuss the game's opening decisions and strategies through the first 100 or so turns. Here you can post questions related to the game and share your achievements/anger/frustration/victories while you play. We encourage players to use the spoiler tags for screenshot. During the time the game is active, please do not post any information concerning the game outside of the spoiler threads including screen shots, videos, or recorded/live-cast Let's Plays on other websites.

After Actions thread: In this thread you can post the results of your game. Please state your victory/loss date and final score (preferably in the post title) and describe your path to glory in this post! Players are encouraged to provide feedback on the game. Some players like to replay the game, and although we will not record the results from a replay, you can still post your new experiences. The game will not be closed as such, but after one month, the results will be compiled, and will not necessarily be updated with reports coming in after the finish date.

So, Prince ... :hmm:
Well, at that difficulty it should be rather easy to get golden ages for the UA. I expect some very fast "religious" victories from players who will just conquer every other religion founder (and some). I don't play for ranking so i plan to play this one peacefully (as much as possible) but we'll see who's there.

Looks like a more than decent start. Settling on spot would allow a good Holy Site next to the gems/bananas with the jungle pantheon (it's rarely taken by AIs) but moving there would give better production from T1 and some money while moving on the bananas would give river adjacency (thought without wheat/rice the water mill isn't as great but still nice to have).
I'll probably move the warrior on the hill/gem to see what's on the other side :dunno:

That is, after i play the Lautaro culture game of course

I would definitely settle next to the diamonds. Not sure about needing to eliminate other players though, on Prince they are very slow at pushing out religion, so you just need to snipe away a few missionaries and convert their holy cities. Maybe we'll get some interesting emergencies this way?

Of course, after I too finish the Lautaro game

I'll settle on the eastern diamonds and go for early Stonehenge. Goddess of Harvest pantheon if it is available.

More jungle to the south, so warrior will move west initially and loop clockwise trying to find CS.

May try one city and peaceful (other than emergencies) for fun. Wide empires are tedious and I rarely finish those games.

Might be an option but it means 2 turns moving and settling T3, might as well settle the "river island" then. I actually like improvements in jungles as you get to keep the +1 food bonus and you can only do this when there's a special resource so i tend to avoid settling on jungle resources.

How can you tell there's more jungle, or is it just a guess?

If you're not playing for the ranking and not submitting your saves you might try and play with CQUI mod, it makes managing (reasonably) wide empires much less painful. The R&F version is still under development but mostly working now (you have to get it from GIT hub thought, it's not on steam workshop yet)

save is up
So where's the link?:bump:

True I lose 2 turns, but I'll take the extra 1 production city center and immediate ability to sell the diamond lux for gold to a neighbor for rush buy purposes. Settling T0 on the warrior tile would be standard and good too.

Jungles are usually more than 3 tiles thick vertically, and we are at the northern side of the jungle. So it is an educated guess. We'll see if I'm right soon enough. :hmm:

I'm not playing by the clock either. But would like to start with my quest to build the 1st Modern Armor army of this 6ofM.

Nice. Never played Religious victory before, so it would be fun. And surely easy on Prince difficulty.

I think on Prince the AI will not have much gold to buy it.
