7 grams - DG with AI Armies

Republic might be the best way to go for now. We can always switch later if WW becomes a factor. The one other factor is how much unit support costs will set us back.

He has already started to upgrade a few of his troops, but pillaging the iron source sounds like a plan. We should be able to take the forces he has if we take the higher ground and let him come to us. It worked for me on my first turnset.

Preflight check: Well, not sure I can play all 11 tonight, but will try.

Trades: Sign Peace with Byz, getting Republic and giving 253g
Sell Republic to Spain, getting Monarchy and 9g
Buy Fuedalism from Inca for Republic, Monarchy, and 291g

Abydos is being setup to spit out workers. We need some more to clear the jungles around the core and to get Adrianople up to speed.

Incan iron will be disconnected next turn.

An Incan galley is trolling off the SE coast near Caesarea.

A well executed set of turns!

Four Pikes visible, I hope they have not had time to upgrade too many in their cities.

Very nice going. I wasn't sure we were ready when I started the war on Byz ~35 turns ago, but it looks like we have the upper hand and we will probably can take control over our continent.

Great work everyone.

Good job. I think now would be the time to push for Chivalry and be ready for a more violent war with the spanish when it comes. Nice going witrh the war, I just hope a bit of luck so that they keep their MDI uncovered from pikes

Whatever Incan city is building the GLib will hopefully keep working on it if for no other reason than it won't be producing units.

Preturn- We look alright.

IT- I renew our spices/wines deal with Isabella, giving up 50g to do so. We get Mono, start on Chivalry, due in 10 turns.

T1 260

Lose an elite WC taking out a reg Pike. I join a few more units to the SoD on the iron. I asume the galley to the east is waiting to be suicided, so it heads out. Should it survive, we'll have new contacts next turn. I switch a few cities to markets to help out economy.

IT- We lose a pike fending off a sword after killing an MDI. The galley sinks, of course.

T2 270

Kill an MDI. I decide to hold back our stack until it gets reinforced a bit.

IT- zzz

T3 280

More troops gathering, Inca troop movement.

IT- Inca move a pike and spear into our land.

T4 290

Kill pike and spear at no loss. SoD will move out next turn.

IT- Inca bring in pike and two archers.

T5 300

Defeat the invaders. SoD is next to Tiwanaku.

IT- Isabella demands our horses. I don't think so. She backs down like a good girl. An Incan MDI kills our defending pike.

T6 310

At Tiwanaku we lose only one WC in killing three pikes and we take the city. An elite horse takes a whack at a wouned MDI and we have a second leader, Cheops. I figure he'll end up as another knight army. Two knight armies should make this one a cakewalk.

IT- zzz

T7 320

Kill two archers. Another galley takes the leap of faith.

IT- Galley sinks AGAIN.

T8 330

Move our troops towards Cuzco. Chivalry next turn.

IT- We get Chivalry. I set research to Theology but turn it down to zero to get cash to upgrade our horses and WC.

T9 340

Upgrade 7 horses to knights. Will attack Cuzco next turn.

IT- zzz

T10 350

We lose a few WC, but Cuzco is now ours. Our knight armies are now fully functional.

Summary

Have fun with the knight armies :D After Incas are gone, theres no reason not to take out Isabella. We'll have more than enough firepower.

Great progress.

We now have 2 knights armies at hand. A few notes about our moded armies:

1. they are less stonge than regular C3C armies due to:
a. less hit points.
b. no strength bonus (at least until cavs or Pentagon/Mil academy)

2. we can tranport them without waiting to navagation.

good job kb

now i'll get back to my roster duties :)

Roster:
grahamiam
Kaiser Berger
M60A3TTS -> UP
Mailman -> on deck
Wotan
Beorn-eL-Feared

The save at 460AD

Pre Turn- All looks ok. We have science turned off, don’t know if this is an Glib steal strategy or no. South is a bit bare of troops inviting a landing. Have to watch that. Hit enter

IBT- Memphis market>FP. Pi Ramses Market> knight. Hieraconopolis pike>harbor. Abydos worker>market.

Turn 1 (360AD) Whack a vet archer and move the troops forward.

IBT- Caesarea temple>granary. Oh sweet, Pacachuti was extra nice in building The Great Library for us in Ollantaytambo. :goodjob: Spain cascades to Sistine.

Turn 2 (370AD) Well our good fortune takes a bit of a turn as I lose one of the knight armies to a pike in Ollantaytambo size 10 and we lose another knight for good measure. :( But the town and the GLib is ours. :) 3 MI and a sword move next to Machu Pichu. Add a couple war chariots for good measure.

IBT- Incan archer gets a reg pike. We learn lit and get the HE message. Thebes knight>knight. Nicea temple>harbor. El Armana knight>knight.

Turn 3 went missing somewhere. Uneventful, I think.

Turn 4 (390AD) Take Machu Pichu at the cost of 2 MI vs. 2 reg pikes. :) The extra gems there let us drop lux tax to 10%. Elite WC gets the pesky Incan archer. Bring up 5 war chariots and a pike next to Huamanga.

IBT- Barcelona completes KT. Tiwanaku starves to pop 1.

Turn 5 (400AD) Attack a MI with knight and lose our mounted fellow. Finish off the MI with a knight. Try several war chariots against Huamanga, but they have pikes defending. We lose one and kill nothing. We’re not going to get anywhere with them. Send 6 chariots and a horse to Tiwanaku and upgrade them all to knights.

IBT- Thebes knight>knight. Vilcabamba temple >harbor. Inca sends a spear out of Huamanga.

Turn 6 (410AD) Bring up 6 knights. Attack Huamanga again, lose one knight and defeat 4 pikes. We own that town now. :) Kill the wandering vet Incan spear with vet knight clean. Spend 16 ducats to bring a galley in a turn ahead of schedule at Smyrna. Move knight army and knight into Spanish territory to get kicked forward.

IBT- Don’t get kicked forward.

Turn 7 (420AD) Kill reg pike with knight at Corihua…whatever. Lose the 8 HP knight army to another reg pike. Vet sword showing.

Note to team: These armies suck. :p

Load a galley with two knights and set sail for Vitcos. Need some taxmen.

IBT- Huamanga flips. :(

Turn 8 (430AD) Kill vet spear with knight in Huamanga. Bring up some more troops.

IBT- GA ends and Adrianople riots. Scroll ahead to fix remaining towns. Giza and Hierancopolis start pikes.

Turn 9 (440AD) Kill a vet pike and spear at Corihua whatever. Vet spear still defending. Recapture Huamanga defended by two spears with our knights and an MI. :) Drop off two knights two tiles from Vitcos. Archer in the vicinity.

IBT- Get a knight kicked out of Spain. Lurking reg Incan archer at Vitcos dies attacking our knight who loses a hp. Resistance ends at Machu Picchu and Huamanga.

Turn 10 (450AD) Lose a knight trying to kill a reg spear at Vitcos.

Hit enter somehow. The wine deal expired and I didn’t renew pending a decision from the team. We may be going to war against them soon enough. Adrianople riots, scroll ahead to fix the rest.

Turn 10 1/8 (460AD) Take Cori…whatever which cost us the knight army last time. The continent is now clear of Incans. Not really my turn, but it was a revenge thing. ;) And done.

Post turn- We have all the Incan towns pacified except the Glib town of Olantaytambo and Corihuayrachnia. Vitcos and Andyhuyalas are still on that other island to the south.

Isabella still lacks horses, but she has KT in Barcelona now, so they’ll be a distraction.

I spent almost all our cash upgrading the WCs.

We need some happiness buildings as soon as they can be fit in. I’d also suggest artillery will be key in the future, these armies really lack staying power. Fortunately short-term Izzy is defending with spears.

Ollantaytambo is still very much in resistance and a flip risk until we dispatch those Incan towns to the south. Maybe ally with Byzantines, she’ll do the deal straight up.

The FP is due in 1 in Memphis.

I got it. will probably play only in 24 hours.
I think I will sign peace with Inca and start war on Spain after regrouping.

Do we have enough forces south to take over ther remaining of the Inca?

It is a very nice thing of the Inca to build us a great library a turn before we took them out.

If the WW will not kick in too much, I will get rid of them.

They just have two little towns, Vitcos and another whose name escapes me. Defended by spears, I tried doing it on the cheap with two knights, but it didn't work. Four should do the trick.

preturn:
War wariness already affect us. raise lux tp 40% to overcome all those specialists. take knights south and upgrade one horse. rush 1 galley.

Summery:
Got rid of Byzantines and the Inca. started war on spain.
capture 4 cities (2 Inca, 1 byz, 1 spain)
founded 1 city.
Failed to take Santiago on first try.
pretty good kill ratio [28-3] (since it is mostly against spears). altough we hawe many wounded units.
I think we should wait for healing before the second wave.
We can probably get the south island pretty quickly.

Gee Mailman, couldn't find anyone else to declare on, huh?

When Santiago goes, maybe we should just raze it. I don't like living next to a volcano and we could use the workers.
