This wonder gives 400 science and culture on all game speeds. This ranges from godly on quick speed to pathetic on marathon speed. Nonetheless, the production cost scales with game speed. Other instant yields, like popping great writers/scientists, scale with game speed, so why doesn't this?

Proposal: Building the oracle gives:
300 Science/Culture on Quick speed,
400 Science/Culture on Standard speed (unchanged),
600 Science/Culture on Epic speed,
800 Science/Culture on Marathon speed.

All other effects of the oracle are unchanged.

Why not use the existing InstantYieldPercent column?

75% on Quick (300)
100% on Standard (400)
150% on Epic (600)
200% on Marathon (800)

My mistake, I was trying to but mixed up the epic and marathon multipliers. Edited the OP.

I personally would treat this as a bug correction, not even a proposal.
Having an instant yield in the game which does not follow the scaling rule is abnormal.

Kinda inclined to agree actually.

Not against this, but this would affect every instant yield building wouldn’t it?
Stonehenge
Circus, Ceilidh hall
zoo,
stadium
Is this a specific cutout for oracle, or a general rules change?

Doesn't those buildings also scale with gamespeed ? If they don't, they would deserve to.

Stonehenge definitely does (so in all cases you get a pantheon)

Yeah this can be fast-tracked if it gets a sponsor.

There's no reason it doesn't already scale with game speed? It's using the same table.

Well, if it does, the proposal is vetoed. If it doesn't, the proposal is accepted. Time will tell. :)

Apologies, it seems like the game does already work like this, so this can be withdrawn. I think this wonder should get a bigger gamespeed scaler, but that will have to be for the next congress I guess.

The wonder is nearly a free tech and policy on lower game speeds and hardly a blip on marathon. It ranges from something to beeline on lower game speeds to junk on higher game speeds, and I believe its value should be consistent across game speeds. One reason its value is inconsistent IMO is because the instant yield scaler is different than the production cost scaler. On marathon, buildings cost 3x more IIRC, yet the instant yield scaler is only 2x. For things like border expansions, it makes sense to scale those less with game speed because you can use those extra turns to expand more and get more instant yields. But building oracle can only be done once in a game.

Proposal vetoed.
