Welcome to Civ VII Game of the Month - 05
These games will allow new and old GotM fans to play Civ7 in a friendly competitive environment. Participants are encouraged to post questions, stories, advice, tricks and failures in the dedicated game threads (described below). Each game will specify the Civ you will play.

How to Play
1. Please read our Must Read Rules and Game Details sections below for important information before playing.
2. Consult our Other Useful Information section below and ask spoiler free questions in this thread before starting your game if needed.
3. Click the 7otMxxx.Civ7save file attachment at the bottom of this post to download the Civ6 savefile.
4. Move the Civ7 savefile from your ...\Downloads folder to your ...\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VIi\Saves\Single folder. (This is the standard Civ67install location so please let us know if yours is different or you can't find it)
5. Load the 7otMxxx.Civ7save file in Civ7 and play the game adhering to all our Rules and Victory Conditions specified below. (In game, click Single Player, Load Game, 7otMxxx should be at the top.)
6. Once finished, report your results in the appropriate thread and attach your finished save game to your post in the final thread.

Must Read Rules!
We would like to ask you to please abide by our most sacred rule: Do NOT replay any turns! If you make a mistake, accept it and try to recover. To ensure fair play and prevent results exclusions, please set your Autosaves to 1 turn. In the event of a computer crash while playing, just reload to the previous save and play it as closely to how you played it the first time.
We also ask that you only use UI mods and not any game changing mods.

Spoiler for a neat trick for those that are still learning.

Spoiler First Expansion Trick :

One way to get a quick 'extra' expansion.

The goal of the below is to get the Grand Canyon "+2 science bonus on flat terrain in this settlement" as fast as possible without committing a rural district 1NW.

- If you start building a new urban district, it won't expand your boundary until the first building is complete, but...
- If you replace a rural district with an urban district, your boundary is already expanded, but...
- You can't expand from this new urban district until a building is complete in that district.

Specific trick that may be helpful for this start.
0) On T2 you will complete your first unit; start building another unit
1) On T3 you will receive a population expansion.
2) Place the population expansion 1NW bringing the natural wonder into your borders getting +2 science to all flat terrain in this settlement!!!
3) Now start building a Granary in that rural district, move the granary to the top of your queue to displace the rural district, then you can delete the granary from your queue
Note: You won't be able to place another urban district until you have completed a building in this urban district 1NW (doesn't have to be the granary)
4) Now you can place the rural population growth again; one potential location is 1SW which will give you +5 food (+3 for tile; +2 for resource; which doubles your current food from 5 to 10) and +2 science (increasing science from 10 to 12). The extra food early allows you to get to size 5 quicker for the potential of earlier settlers.
Note: Even if you wanted to, you can't place the rural population on the Grand Canyon tile because it doesn't have a completed building in the urban district yet.

Below is T3 photo (scout not moved to avoid extra spoilers). With the urban district replacing the rural district, there is still the population expansion to place (again, not placed to avoid extra spoilers).

You can build in a different urban district if you queue it after the granary before dropping the granary from the queue. You cannot have more than two pre-placed urban districts that way, though, from what I can tell (i.e. you have to build in one of the two before going anywhere else). Empty urban districts also block new wonder placement.

Oh my! I'm sure I'll find a situation I want to do something like this!!
