Okay I found some pics of 9/11 and made tech icons out of them, I wish I could have found one with the 2nd plane about to hit but thats's fine.

Since C3C edit doesn't all events you use tech as events; this can represent 9/11, Terrorism or something like that.

Right now it only has a Pedia listing (in the readme2.txt file); I'm gonna add a Civlopedia entry later...I've written and studied a lot about 9/11 and the effects it had on the World so I can write a civlopedia entry.

First one didn't work but thanks to StormGrunt it works, this was my first graphic and I don't screw up now; also here is one StormGrunt made which has a preveiw done the way in the thread.

I might use these for my 3rd mod for the Terrorism Tech ... and maybe for Modern Religious Fundamentalism tech in the 2nd one.

Your Welcome. I'm using them for 9/11 in mine and I'm sure folks will think it; I'm also going to add some more tech graphics later.
 
Could be used for asymmetric warfare, war on terror, terrorism and anything like this. Thanks.
 
Have you tried these in the game? The reason I ask is I opened them up in paint shop pro to have a look and I noticed a couple of things:

The pixel dimensions are off: lg Icons are suposed to be 128x128, and the small 32x32.

The palette also looks reversed you have the magic magenta and green indexed as 1 and 2 they should be 255/256 and black is at 255\256 it may cause anything black in the picture to show as magenta in game...;)

Edit: I just tried them in game and the small one works but the large one is just a blank magenta Background as I feared. If you post the original image in its full size I can probably fix it and make them a little less pixely for you..

BTW: I started converting my avatar for you. just blending some of the colors to make it less grainy should be done tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks for testing it; its my first graphic and since I did the small one right I think I can learn the large ones. Heres is the original pic:

Got it..I'll start working on this tonight as well..
 
Here you go....I did the best I could to maintain as much detail in the SOL. some was lost during all the operations.soooo many different shades of blue in the photo made it hard but it still looks good.In the future try to select an image that is as close to 128x128 as poss. you lose less detail in the re-size if its already close.

Game tested. Don't forget to update the file in your first post with this one. ;)

I read in your first post that you wanted one of the towers geting hit so I did this one too.

This looks better since the statue of liberty is not in the pic. (it is a civ-specific wonder in my mod)
 
i think you miss the point: no one has a 'better' opinion than anybody else, nor is anybody 'wrong' in their opinion, thats the great part about an opinion!

lets get back to the tech icon shall we? and no getting in hte last word this time, we left that behind in 9th grade.

this was made originally for the Mid east 2006 scenario, correct? i wonder if El Justo might be able to use it in TCW? i say this since youre already using the works for his other icons, correct?
 
I've made some he could use like Special Ops (I fixed it), EU (in his it could come late as EC or WEU) and the Fall of the Berlin Wall.
 
yea i saw the EU one nice work! i dont know about techs, but i do know that with wonders and improvements that there is a limit, because El Justo hit it in TCW and AOI. If there is, im sure we havent hit that yet, it might be possible to create a miltant islam tech, that might give the Arab nations some more stuff to use, maybe a terrorist unit? Muslims have been strpping on bombs and jumping into buildings since the 70s, so its would certainly be applicable in TCW. the EU, im pretty sure, didnt come along until the COld War was pretty much winding down, although there were attempts at similar relationships earlier on. YOu think we might be able to implement this?
I wonder if this would interefere with his timing in the ages, though. as im sure you noticed, the ages progress right in time with the year, you wont hit the 1960-69 era until its actually 1960 in the game, he did this by making all techs required and the min research time 6 turns, so you hit all the right times at the right time. Neat stuff, eh? I hope we dont throw this off.
