A Buff Mod is a gameplay mod for Civilization V. It is a mod for buff people to play when they get home from the gym and see that Maritime City-States are still ridiculous.
This mod is available from the in-game mod browser. Simply search for "buff" and install A Buff Mod. That's it.
v1.0 Features
Production Cost Changes:
- Hammer costs of Ancient, Classical and Medieval Era buildings reduced by 25%.
- Hammer costs of Courthouse, Castle, and Mughal Fort reduced by 50%.
- Courthouse can now be purchased with gold.
- Hammer costs of Renaissance, Industrial and Modern Era buildings reduced by 50%.
- Hammer cost of Stock Exchange reduced by about 70%, actually making it possible for commerce cities to build this turd before the game ends.
Gold Maintenance Cost Changes:
- Gold maintenance costs of Granary, Watermill, Floating Garden, Hospital and Medical Lab were removed entirely.
- Gold maintenance costs of Circus, Colosseum, Theater and Stadium reduced by 2.
- Gold maintenance costs of Monument, Temple, Opera House, Museum and Broadcast Tower reduced by 1.
City-States
- Military City-States will spawn units more frequently (reduced the base spawn time by three turns).
- Maritime City-States will provide less food. Generally, the Capital will receive two less food from Maritime allies, and other cities will receive one less food. It is now possible to receive no food bonus at all in cities outside the Capital.
Resource Improvement Yields
- Farms built on Wheat resources now provide +2 food.
- Pastures built on Cow resources now provide +2 production.
- Pastures built on Sheep resources now provide +2 food.
- Camps built on Deer resources now provide +2 food.
Planned Features
- AI tweaks. I'm hoping to actually make the AI a credible challenge.
- Changes to the upgrades and/or Promotion of Crossbowmen to Riflemen to address the problem of promotions becoming useless in this transition.
- Social Policy balance adjustments.
