A few bugs, I think... (10.1)

In my game...

1) The Monarchy benefit of extra wonder production does not seem to work.
1b) The Landed Elite benefit of extra food production for defense buildings doesn't work either...

2) Protectionism's -20% purchase cost does not work; instead it triggers the "all policies adopted" benefit for Commerce.

2b) I'm not really sure about this but I think Mercantilism (the one before Protectionism) did lower the purchase cost by 20%... and maybe I didn't get the stated Mercantilism benefit?

3) The levy unit looks the same as my Roman legions... :crazyeye:

4) Allied militaristic city-states don't ever seem to give me military units... until I conquer them.

5) The Scientific Theory description is now incorrect...

6) With military caste active, paying for a unit in a city will NOT raise happiness if there was no unit in there already -- the unit must be moved out and then back in on the next turn for the happiness point to have an effect.

Not sure if they are fixable:
* America civ description, second-to-last infobox: "capitol" should be "capital".
* When trying to raze former capitals, the message is "Cannot raze building that was a capitol. --> should be "capital".
* There are some random places in the Civilopedia where the plural possessive of "Inca" is "Incan's", as opposed to "Incans'" or maybe "Incas'".. I don't remember where now....
 
Take a look over the Common Checklist. Several problems sound like #3 a cache issue, or #4 multiple versions of the mod installed.

3) New units like Levies currently have temporary placeholder art.
4) Militaristic citystates work in my test games, so let's see if we can identify the problem for you. Below the Common Checklist are instructions on how to install the tuner (bottom of that post).

  1. Load your game.
  2. Open the tuner.
  3. End your turn.
  4. Copy-paste messages that display in the tuner.
5) Tech tooltips generally have a low priority since the information is displayed on the tech box itself. I've been thinking about removing the tooltips.
6) Purchased units can do nothing the turn they're built, including garrisoning. This is a vanilla game thing, and probably intended. You can hit the F key to fortify the unit in the city on the turn after purchase (no need to move out and back).

Thanks for pointing out the spelling errors, I found and fixed the mistakes with "capitol" and "Incan's" for v10.3. :thumbsup:
 
K, I'll try the tuner.

Dunno what you mean by tooltips -- I'm talking about the text that appears in the tech tree screen. Is that it? If so, please don't remove the tech tooltips. The Civilopedia stuff is pretty bare as it is...

Aside: I love all the background stuff, but beyond that the Civilopedia is bizzarely unlinked (or, not well linked) and there are so few actual numbers for the game mechanics. :[

Edit: I cleared all the cache stuff and restarted the game. Still the same issues, so it doesn't seem like it is the cache...

Edit 2: Ok, the policy issues (and I suspect the military issues) were caused by some impromptu tinkering that I had done... uhh, never mind that.
 
The Civilopedia is woefully lacking... I don't look at it anymore, and instead do searches on google or civfanatics for information. The pedia just didn't get much polish. I think what they should have done is create an ingame web browser for the pedia, which links to information in the game data and wiki. It would require a little more effort to set up, but much less effort to maintain in the long run, and more functionality.
 
I finally got a military unit in my capital. I had been allied a very long time to two militaristic civs -- perhaps 100 turns or more. Does the speed of the game (eg: Marathon) affect the gifting rate? I am playing on Marathon.
 
It should be easier to see progress on militaristic rewards in v106.1 beta, where I added a display for this information to militaristic citystate tooltips.
