A fluke?

I was going through OT and looking for closed threads. I think that it's cool to read closed threads because there must have been something outragously out of line for it to be closed.

IIRC super-mods have ultimate power - one of those being that there's no "Last edited by..." tag at the bottom.

So what is going on?

Below is a "last edited..." thingy by Lefty.

Thunderfall just decided to turn that option on for everyone... He likes to fiddle with the controls every now and then. Speaking of Thunderfall, I just saw him on MSN as I was typing this!

It's an option in the forum's control panel.

He has MSN? I have a better chance on catching him online with MSN rather than ICQ (which I have on my buddy list now) but he doesn't have it in his profile...

As I type this, he's online ICQ, but currently "N/A"

There's certain things beta testers can't give out, like specific info of other testers.

Click on Forum Leaders in the lower right of the screen.

That's a good way to find out how many we are now, zelig.

As compared to 2 years ago, consider that Civ3 didn't exist yet, 2 yrs ago, and then look at how many mods we have for the various Civ3 forums.

Well he asked "how many moderators are there?", so it answers that, and 2 years ago I only came to the site for game information stuff and not to the forum.

Hmm...two years ago...

Well, TF used to handle the future Civ-3 forum alone, then he had Stormerne and Blue Monday.

Smash and SunTzu handled Civ-2, J Valdez scenario creation.

We used to have a fellow named woke who handed MP tourneys, and let me see if I can remember the name of the fellow that modded civ 1...hmm, can't seem to recall.

Matrix of course, also doing tourney and GOTM stuff, and we had Drake, who was a "moderator at large" (which means he was in name only, the lazy scoundrel never modded anything! )

Cornmaster handled OT stuff, and was joined by pale Horse, and I came on when PH took a leave of absence.

We also had a guy who was removed, who handled some game I can't remember.

So it was 12 in all, I think, but that was quite a LONG time ago, and people who were posters became mods (like my buddy Hippo-man).

Didn't TGG or someone have Civ1 (The Civ1 site is still up) or some other game? I recall seeing some Civ3 thing in the archives. By archives, I mean the Internet Archives

Lefty was a Civ3 moderator I think, and was a regular mod before he became a supermod.

CM moderatored Civ3 once - read a couple of civ3 bashing threads that were closed by him. PH also was a Civ3 mod too, but I didn't know about moderating OT

TF was doing the civ2 GOTMs, and I think maybe the civ3 at one point. I'm not sure because I was looking through all his posts (searching for one in March 01/02) and caught a little bit of some civ gotms.

My posts never used to show "Last edited by GerrardCapashen..." tags even after I edited them multiple times on different days. Only rather recently have the tags begun to appear. I actually like having these tags show up because they remind me when I have edited my posts and they may possibly render later posts responding to me irrelevant because I have changed the part in question. I wonder, did I somehow have the super-editing ability? That would have been very cool, even though I couldn't edit other people's posts (I found that out when I accidentally clicked the edit button instead of the quote button in the upper right, at least that's the official story ).
