a lightweight discussion of WW2 aerial ops and the like

Not open for further replies.
well , this little nonsense of mine rather seems to have distanced a bit from a little analysis of WW 2 aerial operations ; even the 20th Century itself , with my stated-here intention of writing a book of history never to be finished or something ... Possibly with the clear need to explain how could ı ever know in the first place . Knowing people (from a distance , no less) helps greatly . Heirs to a reputation of integrity and honest brokering ; and a certain amount of success in being judges of character . End of the Ottoman Empire , you know , with all those European vultures hovering around , beaming smiles and promises of everlasting agreements on their lips ; soon to be replaced with hate and righteousness as they rolled in for the feast . And a bit of grief , especially after they were given a bit of hot lead and cold steel . Just a bit . The reputation of honesty was certainly not that among the Anglosaxons now that they failed splendidly to succeed in their god-given duty of one single world goverment or something for Capitalism ...

but counted enough to host the negotiations that ended up in a Panzer school in Kazan .

you see , the Bolshies were utterly frightened of Germans of stealing their brightest boys but coveted the German know-how , while the latter obviously needed unfettered tests and trials to keep their prowess on the cutting edge . With Christian fundamentalism on the prowl , long forgotten but somehow never forgiven , we (as in some dudes from the sands of Gallipoli through the deserts and the lot , 1911-22), were in favour for the continued presence of both and in the few cases when asked our arbitration was final and unchallenged . Yeah , babble and prove it was not so . It's this kind of reputation that drew some hapless Japanese dude all the way from Tokyo , in the summer of 1941 and look for a way to find a way out of the morass his country was directly headed into ; he was capable of looking into maps and the lot himself , he had never needed any convincing that if China was conquerable , Mete Han would have done so . You know , but you certainly won't be telling that this was a period Americans were all for a scrap ; USN advertised there would be no limits to American manhood this time . With widespread publicity of exercises where the enemy planes wore Red Crosses as the insignia , after RAF shooting down Luftwaffe SAR planes in 1940 which were possibly indeed conducting reconnaissance as an hobby . Yeah , we all saw what America was capable of , on December '41 .

alas , they must run out of supplies outta there . It's a fact that any White should tell lies to a monkey likeTurks but we (as in real people and not me , the heir dudes and stuff) were long spared any waste of time . See , there are people who are really confused not merely due being blondes ; their actions are even causing beliefs that they can be assets for the all conquering New Turkey . To the extend of modifying laws . Saudi way of Islam and stuff always works in a given way . There are bad women out in the streets and they are taught to dress and behave correctly . Which is also an Iranian thing , but anyhow . So on the first day of the Bayram , there is this nurse in shorts on a public service bus and she is not even looking around when she gets kicked in the face by some guy . The way of handling such stuff in Turkey has long been declaring the attacker a nut and it an isolated incident and let the nut out as soon as possible . When you can't find your wallet on a bus in Turkey , the bus driver like locks the doors and drives to the nearest police station ; the driver of the bus that the attack took place says the guy pulled the emergency lever and he couldn't do a thing . Passengers have of course intervened , the attacked says she has heard 3 cousins fought with the attacker before he slipped away , the attacker claims to have overcome 20 Leftist terrorists escorting the devil , the nurse in shorts . Typical insanity clause that always works and kinda proves women can be attacked in the streets with impunity and they should better stop acting like professional sex workers and stuff , if you know what ı mean . Which invariably ends up in enforcing a foot of beard and blowing up any nearby Buddhist temples and the lot . All those thousands of people who successfully campaigned on the web to overturn his release will surely be offended to hear that yours idiotly firmly believes in "wring their neckss" when in comes to dumbos and it always pays to lick some American shoes ; in this case on how the New Turkey like totally respects the women . Much better than hearing Japan is ready to work with Turkey in Eurasia . Just wait for smarties to discover the Greater Co-Prosperity Sphere or something and how they can provide it to almost Muslim like Japanese . Yeah , they must run out of supplies outta there , resulting in a lack of any decent people . America will need a necromancer or two , to raise those oldies who knew better than thinking that they could lull people all the while everythin intentionally is kept going downhill . Certainly not after being told 10 times in as half as many years that it's not working and the repercussions will be far harsher .

just keep on unbelieving

oh yeas and peas , America has a long list of best buddies . Like friends eternally forever ; and doesn't it amuse to see the ever glorious Foreign Ministry warning the Colonial Governor in Ankara not to act like a Colonial Governor ? On the account of taking over some 24 municipalities from the seperatists , locations A-K-P can not win by the power of the vote , though hope for a better outcome now that they can totally provide a better service to people of those locations and guess what , they can be right about that , too . Or how the leader of the almost Racists warned Washington over that this country was not the 53rd State of the US . Due to neck problems , the dumbo has no need to learn the finer points of this last , for the rest let it suffice that Americans of yore were so in control of the country that they banned Area 51 like totally here to the extent that even 52nd would not apply , so it's like totally true that a deck of cards has 52 and new additions to the US start from 53 ; it's even prevalent in the guys who have actually lived in the States as yours idiotly heard it from a guy similarly serving the compulsory military service compressed into 26 days for 4500 good old Deutche Marks or equivalent . In the very very coupist Etimesgut Zırhlı Birlikler Okulu . ı don't know whether they also moved out the Tank Museum , which am still on track to see someday . Possibly before the most obvious result of the July 15th Disgrace is realised as some villas and the residential areas and the lot . Yeah , whenever Puerto Rico joins the abomination , America's best buddies will talk of how Turkey is not the 54th State of US .

of course the term best buddies is relative in nature . America's buddies get bester ... Hell yes , the "more form" of best is bester , which equals better squared and which still falls short of bestest . If you don't know English , pal , go and learn it . America's buddies are bester when they also accept Saudi overlordship , grow a foot of beard and mock whatever Faith one might have in the process . If you have problems of 'rection , you can see newspaper accounts of the court case where a guy talks of which Ayets from the Kuran to "fix" that . Gotta be a Zionist conspiracy or something for when the "fix" doesn't work , people will be like giving up being Muslims and stuff ? So , has the responsible "party" been condemned throughly by Ulema , which we regularly hear , is entitled to rule the country ? Sure , by the 24th Century . There is so much work to do ; they have renamed Gülhane , which was the Military Medical Institution , after the Sultan that had it founded it and opened it to the general public . In the name of Democracy , with the picture of some overly religious dude walking past the gate . There will never be end to the sufferings of "Muslims" of this country you see , it might well be 34th Century before they stop telling they couldn't enter in the days before the Republic fell , you know it being a hospital for military personnel and military personnel respecting the laws of the country that banned such clothing . Nobody has ever heard such "Muslims" suffering for any lack of medical attention but whatever . ı somehow feel suspicious on whether they are reciting the Kuran instead of going to some hospital when there is stuff ... And that only because they will then be talking of how the coup of February 28th banned teleportation and stargates to "Muslims" .

meanwhile Democracy and toleration fall to former besseres buddies of America to handle . A former almost racist ideologue has come up with a mostly correct account of inventing false quotes from Atatürk . Says the guy was a great one , making up stuff according to political aims of the Present cheapens and hurts an otherwise deserving Past , a richly proud heritage . The centerpiece of the argument seems to center on a visit he made to the military airfield in Eskişehir in 1936 . Where he supposedly declared , translated in the haphazard r16 way

Have no doubt on it that Future's most effective craft and weapons will be airplanes. One day the Mankind will walk in the sky without planes, travel to the Planets, maybe send messages from the Moon. There will be no need to wait until the year 2000 to see this miracle happening. The [rapidly] developing technology tells us this. Our duty, then, is to assure we won't fall too much behind the West.

about halfway through the thread ı have started to use Italics to stress quotes - some other people's writing but ı understand Chrome makes everything tilted to the side anyhow . And in any case it's entirely refused by the columnist in question . With damning proof that very word "teknoloji" was first used in the official state dictionary in 1969 . Atatürk could have only used "fen" at the time .

oh-kay , yours idiotly is a propeller head who kinda feels insulted at this . Let's see , on June 9th ,1936 Kemal was either probably talking in the language of "Kamutay" , meaning the Parliament . And all those MPs , who were no slouches in getting the very best education the Ottoman Empire was capable of giving , would be seen in a standing ovation in the Parliament for the speech he had just given ... and ask him personally on what did he just say ... And he would provide a translation /summary . Or just reformed and a return to the "normal" , laden with all those phrases of Arabi and Farsi . In either case too heavy for us people of late 20th / early 21st ... Entirely possible that it was "translated" at around 1969 itself when rather poor TV footage was beamed down from the Moon . This entirely disregards the thing that he might used technology from French or even technologie or something from German ... In a bid to overcome stupid Kemalists and stuff who look like vindicated halfway with the July 15th Disgrace , the columnist conveniently overlooks the Germany after 1930 was awash with the excitement of rocket travel , into Space no less .

what we see is just an informed man of the early 20th Century that has accepted the possibility of intra-Solar System voyages but with practical experience of wireless sets , starting from those frail German stuff of the Great War . Finds it real difficult to swallow that direct contact can be achieved on a distance as great as the one between the Moon and Earth . And he talks of airplanes not airplanes and rockets ; allow me to assume he has heard about Sanger and his spaceplane . And talking to officers , people supposed to have some brains as they face equally intelligent people bent on dealing death and destruction to his beloved Turkey , he certainly doesn't declare the great genes of the Turks will allow us to foxtrot alpha romeo tango in space to travel further and faster to conquer all them planets out there . He just tells those dudes who were possibly flying some decrepit stuff like Martin B-10s , if not some WW I biplane , to keep up . The only problematic areas are the year 2000 where he obviously looks 30 years off for any Kemalist writing up stuff from his backside for political gain . And walking in the air without a plane . The columnist of course declares nobody knew Zero Gravity in 1936 , kinda insulting to all those people who like totally went to Moon using slide rules and even had to wait for invention of microchips to do the Tomcat , that fearless F-14 thing . And all the raging talk in Germany where there's bound to be some people that could have imagined that one would float in the air effortlessly and Germany being one country where Atatürk is really popular as proof that dictatorships can really work ... Some stuff it must be , considering Germans were capable of running their trains on schedule without the benefit of Benito Mussolini . Naturally the columnist is wrong , Atatürk assumes there might even be a breakthrough to allow an anti-gravity system .

and just for the benefit of the historians of the 44th Century wonderin the why of the neck-wringing and the following destruction of the US , the 1941 date for the moon landing is an anti r16 joke which unfortunately was not like followed ... CFC is lagging behind in this vital thing , with even no Zheng He accounts lately !

the "scandal" of the days ? Some company has put some gaudily coloured slides and the lot for kids to play . To Anıtkabir , the resting place of Kemal . Naturally ... The Leftists scream at the insult . A-K-P naturally claims it is some private company doing some good deed but naturally does not shirk from reminding that the place took 15 years to build and if Atatürk loved kids so much , why there was no playing ground and the lot in the complex ? Just for throughness let's remember the company in question is this most exalted one that runs a cargo business . During the 1999 'quake and its typically disasterous aftermath some British aid organization assembled a planeload of aid and discovered the company had a cargo plane in the UK , they called the company to inform they had such and such freight . Oh yeah , the company wanted the British to pay the full fare , despite the thing that the plane would return to Turkey anyhow . Planes are complex stuff , if you put stuff in them their drag increases . Which means more fuel burned . It might have cost the company a couple of thousands of dollars to carry aid to the victims , on top of thousands of dollars they spent anyhow flying the plane home , empty .

and please no ranting on how they are penny pinching Kemalists and stuff who buy slides for kids instead of carrying food and bandages to thousands in need . Their "Muslimness" is for all to see with their kinda "illegal" hotel construction a few years back . Illegal construction by non-"Muslims" are lately torn down with TV cameras , Mehteran blaring in the back ground . So , what the hell they are doing in Kemal's mauseleum ? Oh , let's see ... Back in April , on the childrens' day and stuff , hundreds of thousands of people visited the site . Obviously a couple of unruly kids and their parents "asked" for a game area . To the soldiers guarding and the 2nd largest army in NATO could not afford one on their own and asked for sponsors . Yeah , sure , being the Army of Petrol makes one only the property of the Saudis , nothing rich like Saudis .

and the thing about soldiers lately ; they are such PR "capable" ... The famed guard of the palace was founded by some Colonel . Who was like the single pro-Democracy witness in the very famous Balyoz case and stuff and got the command of the palace guard and the lot as a reward . This is Turkey , man , naturally , just naturally , he turned out to be a Congregation man . Sacked . His unit disbanded , and that not only because it was first organized by Kemal himself , Police now guarding the palace . Oh wait , the light blue uniformed honour guards strangely still do exist . No doubt , the showercabinetsons , too ...

and the thing is it's actually a cover-up . You see, the mighty New Turkey has decided to get into the same time-zone with our Arab friends to our Southeast and stuff . As befits a soon-to-be empire of Arabs . As ruling over the Arabs as subjects or something . By not getting into Winter Time or whatever it's called . And this is the second time they try . With reportedly a 180 degree of difference between the arguments put forth first time . That everybody will have to get up in the middle of the night to go to work or send the kids to school and that will create more opportunities for people to have the morning prayers is a side effect nobody cares for . Because gotta be in sync with out sunnier Sunni brothers ...

no , the slides are not covering the time change . The Army of Petrol , cleansed of traitors , carried out a blitzkrieg and captured a town on the border . We heard how the unbeatable ISIL was defeated in 12 or 14 hours straight . Not much reference that they had just fled . Within a week , we heard how the border had been liberated ; some little slice America had not yet given to the seperatists yet . How there would be no more rocket fire on a border town . Daily press releases , a month straight with this place taken and that place also taken . If they had avoided maps solely aimed for daily bragging of how they occupied the missing link between the seperatist holdings you would be ready to think that they were just about to reach the Indian Ocean . 30 days of successful advance , right ? And yet more bragging of they were conducting the modern war , airpower , indirect fire , special forces who are oddly not counted as boots on the ground as per American practice . And how they are managing local expendables in true proof of greatness , Arabs are dying for Turkish interests and we all infidels and stuff to see THAT ... A moment of oh , dear ... Inevitable indeed ... Some component of the so called army of democracy minded Syrians , some heroic brothers who are not Jihadists decide to get insulted by the presence of Americans around and leave some 20 villages to ISIL , which also gets to fire a Katyusha or two across the border to the same town . Which are naturally described as "roketatar mermisi" which sounds more a RPG-7 round to me ...

would you expect any smarty to eat his/her word that they have gloriously disrupted the game , the evil plots of America and any other enemy of New Turkey ? That they deserve respect as if they equal any of the 5 permanent members of the UN Security Council ? Naturally , no . They will take those villages back from ISIL ; respecting civilians and stuff they just can not fire their glorious Fırtına howitzers on the advancing ISIL . So , ı sniff the smell of another millions of dollars of bribes in the air . And expect the slide "scandal" go on as long as the negotitions continue ...

opps , an immediate twist ... A demonstration tears away the slings and stuff from the kids' playing lot . The command at Anıtkabir promises to take them way entirely . All hail the Main Opposition ( by suddenly discovering the kindergarten stuff standing there since April , the other side of the year), has saved the Army of Petrol from becoming noticed . As the protector of a rabble of jihadists who melt away at the whim of the highest bidder . While so called great States buy the services of rabble , we are a special case -we need to be convinced that the Sun henceforth revolves around Ankara . And guess even the America plays the game . Instead of nuking us for the full liberation of the SouthWest section of 'stan , they are sending the civilian dependants back to Turkey , if above 21 and willing . Though the tour of duty for Department of Defence gets shortened to a year ... Everybody did indeed laugh where the then Colonial Governors were declared persona non grata during the times they were personally running the Ergnekon Conspiracy . Yet it's not related to then undiscovered sleeper cells of Congregation in the long extinct Turkish Military , perfectly available to stab in the back . More due to the thing that the Russians are supposedly engaging spies on the ground with Kaliber missiles . Strange fact , everybody respects Lord Vader when there is a shooting war .

what they are afraid of , ı don't know . It can't be the Army of Petrol that slickly sacked some Lieutenant Colonel , the older brother of a fallen Captain of Jandarma . We are assured that it's not because he raged against some ex-Goverment Minister who declared he was willing to become a Martyr and nobody actually ever saw him in combat in the Southeast , his armoured limo and at least 30 bodyguards . Nor ı can understand why the said Minister has not volunteered for the glorious operation in Syria . Is it because this is not the election time ? Only because America needs the Army of Petrol for the Counter-Revolution , you see . So that we will forget we are Turks , scum of the earth and die easily , when Washington decides it's time we die .
historic ? Real ? Actually , you will see it's exactly as ı say .

uhm , time to correct a thing it seems ı have personally contributed to . As must be evident ı was a nutter right from the start for military stuff and hence a regular customer for the 2nd hand book shops . To buy anything ı could afford . Afford being the primary thing here . Fancy "coffee-table" or whatever-they-are-called-size-of-books-in-regular-bookshops costed far beyond what yours idiotly could pay for . Though saving was always possible , am pretty sure my first ever purchase a naval magazine , 2nd some magazine centering on NATO members . One that shook yours idiotly to the core or something for an article on winter warfare challenged the casualty totals of Sarıkamış that ı had been taught in history lessons . Means that modelling magazine must be the third ; the amount ı paid for it was found real excessive by a classmate of the time . With a still useful article -perhaps 30 years later- on the hose nosed , ensign eliminating F4U . Which seemed so strange at the time , a totally weird "ship" ... But it must have been real effective since even in my limited-then-and-not-much-improved-since English ı could understand it had so truly thrashed the famed Zero , despite a very bad start on the type's combat debut . From the rather limited number of Turkish language books on warfare ı knew the Zero was the king of the sky until better planes came along ; betterness grasped from numbers on the yellowed , poor quality pages of encyclopedias of the school library . If P-47 had 2000 horsepowers and 700 odd kilometers of speed it surely was better than 1000+ and 520 or so of the Zero . Knew zilch about dive-shoot-climb , respective pilot training , reflector gunsights and how Japanese could have the Reppu in place for 1943 by not going to war in the first place and the lot ... See , was not even 18 , still believed ı could score high enough in the university exams to become an aircraft engineer ... Yeah , didn't turn out that way . Then there it was , on the shelves of a secondhand shop , a well worn copy of ... which was bound to be rather more worn over the year to come , some book named The Thousand Miles War about the hell that the Aleutian Campaign was . For both sides , that terrible weather to begin with . The people who insist on following yours idiotly can get a visual of the theater from that TV documentary , The Deadliest Catch or something . Oh yeah , Yamamoto loses the war with diverting 2 carriers to Dutch Harbour ...

Meanwhile, four of the homeward-bound Zeroes spotted an American PBY flying low on the water. The PBYs waistblister gunners raked the sky with tracers that seemed to have no effect on the diving fighters. But three of the Zeroes broke off and headed away, too low on fuel to stay for the finish.

One stayed behind to finish off the PBY: Flight Petty Officer Tadayoshi Koga, a slim young man with an abiding hatred for Americans. Koga blew the plane apart in the air with his guns. The Catalina splashed into the ocean, but Koga stayed to make sure. Finally one man (Aviation Machinist's Mate W. H. Rawls) crawled out of the burning wreckage and paddled away in a life raft.

Rawls, the blister gunner, had put a machine-gun bullet into Koga's plane, though Koga did not know he had been hit. That one bullet, a third of an inch in diameter, was to bring the Allies a decisive prize of war.

Koga circled the bobbing rubber raft and machine-gunned Rawls to death in the water.

Koga climbed into the soup after that, but at that moment the needle of his oil-pressure gauge dropped to zero. Convinced his engine was about to pack up, Koga turned toward the nearest land—Akutan Island. He sent out a voice broadcast to the I-boat submarine which he had been told was standing by to pick up downed pilots. Coming in over the island, he prepared to make a forced landing on the flats. He made the mistake of lowering his landing gear; his wheels caught in the boggy tundra, snagged and flipped the Zero on its back. The crash broke Koga's neck.

The alerted Japanese submarine searched the coast by periscope, but could not find Koga's plane. (The Zero remained undisturbed on the lonely island until a month later, when a U. S. Navy PBY sighted it. Navy crews were immediately dispatched to collect the prize.

(Aside from a few dents, Koga's Zero was intact. Its only damage was a single bullet hole, from A/M Rawls' gun, severing the pressure gauge indicator line. The gauge was broken, but the engine was unharmed. American crews quickly dismantled the Zero and shipped it back to the States.)

(Tadayoshi Koga's fighter was the first Zero captured intact by the Allies in World War II. The apparently trivial loss cost Japan dearly. American engineers, with this opportunity to fly and study the war's fastest, deadliest and most secret fighter aircraft, would design the Navy's F6F Hellcat around principles they learned from Koga's Zero; in less than eighteen months the Hellcat would drive the Zero from Pacific skies and insure Allied supremacy of the air.)

ah , incredible . Yours idiotly has read every single possible book and stuff including John Toland's Pearl Harbour and Aftermath or something as it was translated into Turkish ; knows some Filipino pilot was flying a P-26 and saw some Zero which was so agile that it turned almost as fast as a ping pong ball bouncing off the table or something . Zero was the instrument that ruled supreme , the first Superfighter , the means that allowed the Japanese to grab the largest empire in "surface area" in history in the shortest amount of time and stuff . This last is a qualified statement or something that ignores the thing that , say , that the Japanese took Wake does not mean they absolutely controlled the waters around it ... And look what hate does ! If Koga had not hated so much he would not have stayed behind to kill Rawls , if he had not stayed behind he would be in formation where the other pilots could see that he was not leaking oil or would have followed him to Akutan Island , see him flip over and remain motionless in cockpit , presumably dead . The I-boat would have taken away his body and burn the wreck and the Japanese would have held the Guadalcanal and would not be nuked ... ? ...

do not hate while killing and fighting . Something to follow surely .

and it actually has a precedent . Roland Garros , famous stunt pilot , kills Germans with ease with his secret : Deflector plates attached to his tractor prop , performance of which allows to catch up with all sorts of German planes while his forward mounted machine gun , fixed within his sightline , massively eases aiming . He will destroy every single German plane , French artillery spotters will correct every single barrage and Garros will win the Great War . Somewhat exaggerated but so or something . He gets to bomb a railway tunnel , he keeps on trying and is rewarded by a single bullet . You know , which hits his oil line . His engine packs up , he force lands among this sizeable contingent of Bavarians and the secret is out ! Germans call on Anthony Fokker to equip his new Eindecker with it , the wily Dutchman goes one better and invents the interrupter gear ; which will cut such a bloody swath of Allied airmen in the Fokker Scourge to come . And it's a fact , entirely true and stuff , reinforcing the folly of Koga in blind hatred .

apart from the little thing that the Scientifc American or something , at least a magazine in the USA , actually had an article before the war , maybe even in 1912 that fully described the thing about a cam-shaft or whatever to block the fixed gun from firing with the propeller blade approaching . Vickers had it buried , with the obvious thing that a flexible gun covered a lot more volume and ground attacks in planes with fixed machine gun/guns required dives which would obviously end in a crash . Interrupter gear would filter into the UK after apparently some Rumenian convinced a couple of people . The French ignored it totally with their preferred disdain , they also taking the British way of double seater with a gunner , though they were real quick to learn their folly . As for Roland Garros , he ended up a victim of combat reports from Libya where we had all sorts of trouble in judging the lead in bringing down the Italians . As the Little Prince of Ste. Exupery proves nobody ever takes Turks seriously in matters of sciency stuff .

yeah , the story of Koga was always on my mind , even before ı joined the weird Turkish language forum but am pretty sure hatred has a place , if it involves neck wringing of dumbos . The world will be a better place with it .

despite my computer surely bleeding bytes once again . When measured against the likely saving of 10 000 Arabian lives , if not 100 000 or 1 000 000 before Unce Sam finds the courage ... yeah all those funny peoples' lives , some stuff only we dirty worthless Turks are supposed to respect , it must surely be worthwhile ; and the option of looting one working laptop from the dusty , glassy , shiny in the darky US of Ameriki always is there , right ?

oh-kay , the Hellcat is just a stop gap between the Wildcat and the 2000 hp Wildcat . This last is the lovely Bearcat which also involves all sorts of 190 influence just like Tempest II . Both would have truly become one of the top fighters of the WW II if they were given high enough priority . F6F had just the right amount of horsepower and weight for slashing attacks and no mean agility if the situation demanded an horizontal fight , but the thing is it was on the cards long before Americans got had their backsides kicked by some yellow skinned people . Explaining it becomes hard if you are not one of those guys who think Americans excrete miracles while the rest of the world merely produce stinky brown stuff . There's only one book ı have ever seen that suggests the Grumman decision makers took a long look at the Zero , sight unseen , and rejected every thing in its conception and opted for the exact opposite . Including a preference for ease of manufacture ; in March 1945 605 Hellcats were delivered to the USN , which had no idea of what to do with them all , apart from ordering a slow down on the production rate . That 605 in a month easily surprasses what the Japanese could do with Jack , one of the myriad numbers of Zero replacements , throughout the entire war years . No , sir and to Hell with you Ma'am , the Koga affair merely proved some dirty people could do better math than superlatively bright Americans .

the sole significance of the trials of Koga's Zero , for which you will not find a single corroboration , was the realization that the A6M was awesome within limits and it was the Japanese that was advancing across the Pasific , not German Expeditionary Forces , that the Sons of Nippon were entirely capable of slaughtering the good old Whites . Meant , within limits , US Navy analysts were rather more capable of gauging the intentions of coloured people , including the Reds , say up to the end of the Cold War . There's a reason why USN fliers stopped seeing Me-109s after Midway ; which is not solely related to the thing the number of disasters that befell the Americans was on a downward trend . Simply because of bitter experience that being a WASP did not actually guarantee victory . And one better kept eyes open and ears in the air . And be grudgingly ready to accept the possibility that the Americans were not gods walking on earth or something .

what's the real value of the Hellcat , apart from winning the war in the Pasific to a large extent ? With becoming the highest scoring American warplane ? If only because it was a far suitable carrier aircraft then many and those USN Task Force raids smashed substantial reserves of Japanese airpower in regularly repeating turkey-shoots and Hellcats enyojed one feast after another ? Time to qoute Eric Brown , combat and test pilot of RN and really famous . Also an FW-190 fan ; as the guy who was responsible for the Bundesmarine's jet arm apart from being an attache in Berlin you readily gauge his diplomatic skills in hurting no one's feelings in establishing the air war in Europe was harder tech wise . For the benefit of soon dead , London even sent him to the funerals of Nazis , confident of "Winkle's" capability to talk his way out of everything ...

so we will here have his opinion on what held the fort as USN's preferred choice for the judgement day , the 2000 hp Wildcat was deferred for the duration ...

Wildcat VI Versus Focke-Wulf 190A-4
The formidable Fw 190 held all the advantages in this contest, and there was really no way out of the dilemma for the Wildcat. Even in a turning circle it could not evade the German fighter for the first 120 degrees, and that was more than enough time for the powerful armament of the Fw 190 to take effect.

Verdict: The Wildcat had little chance of surviving single combat with the Fw 190. Its only hope lay in overwhelming the German by force of numbers.

Wildcat VI Versus Messerschmitt 109G-6
The agile little Wildcat could outmaneuver the latest version of the Me 109, but the performance differential had widened and the German could run rings around the Wildcat. If the Me 109G-6 was tempted to mix it in a dogfight, the Wildcat had a better than even chance of success.

Verdict: The Wildcat was no real match for the Me 109G-6, but the German could not afford to take liberties with his angry little opponent.

the story goes that some Wildcat pilot arrived in North Africa for Operation Torch or something , confident of his ability to dive faster than anything . This being a sore point for the British of early war years , with 109s diving out of danger and stuff regularly , leaving even the Spit in the dust . Sure enough some 109 duly arrives and the Wildcat guy does his best dive . Yeah , the 109 also dives . With the evil Kraut having his hood open , having slid his canopy back ... With some eye contact as the guys dive down and the Wildcat pilot soon eats some dust . Only to prove personal opinions do not exactly matter much and state an amazement how this story ever started in the first place , let alone survived until the 21st Century . Now that 109 canopies hinge open to the side and do not slide .

filled the qouta of nonsense , the filler ? Well , it's not just Brown to take note that the Wildcat barely held in Guadalcanal , but the American fighter was much more a carrier plane than any possible Seafire , the sea going Spit . Which was not produced in American factories anyhow . But , surely limited ... Let the great white hope of USN make an entrance

Corsair II Versus Focke-Wulf J90A-4
This would be a contest between a heavyweight and a lightweight fighter, with virtually all the advantages on the side of the latter. Having flown both aircraft a lot, I have no doubt as to which I would rather fly. The Fw 190A-4 could not be bested by the Corsair.

Verdict: The Fw 190A-4 was arguably the best piston-engine fighter of World War II. It is a clear winner in combat with the Corsair.

Corsair II Versus Messerschmitt 109G-6
...The Corsair's best tactic would be to take on the Me 109G-6 in the horizontal plane. The German would favor vertical maneuvers.

Verdict: Since carrier air battles usually take place at low altitudes, the Me 109G-6 should be favored in this encounter. However, the Me 109G-6, not as good a dogfighter as its predecessor, the Me 109F, would find itself unable to afford tactical errors against the powerful American fighter.

a slap on the face of yours idiotly or something , with unsurprassable fandom for the F4U . Which was chosen by the USN to bomb enemy planes from above , if an horizontal engagement proved like "elusive" ... Which was so important and stuff that all planning was done around it , proved unable to land , because let me see , USN wanted so much to bomb flying bombers in the air it declared that the designed wing centre section fuel tanks unsafe which led to the extented nose , which made it impossible to see the guy on the carrier deck , guiding the plane to land with paddles in his hand . Mind you , this is before the invention of the "lens" , some system of lamps that shows the correct glidepath to the pilot . And because the Corsair was all important , the equally nasty Seawolf (torpedo-bomber) was slowed down , giving that contract to superlative Avenger and , you know , taking the Hellcat out of the hat like a magician and his rabbit . Well , at least it was as good as the Avenger ...

F6F-3 Hellcat Versus Focke-Wulf 190A-4
This would be a showdown between two classic fighters. The German had a speed advantage of 30 mph, the American a slight advantage in climb. Both were very maneuverable and both had heavy firepower. By 1944 the Fw 190 was a little long in the tooth, while the Hellcat was a relative newcomer; still, the superb technology built into the German fighter by Kurt Tank was not outmoded. The Hellcat had broken the iron grip of the Zeke in the Far East, but the Fw 190A-4 was a far tougher opponent. Risk to the Hellcat would be high indeed.

Verdict: This was a contest so finely balanced that the skill of the pilot would probably be the deciding factor.

F6F-3 Hellcat Versus Messerschmitt 109G-6
This would involve two fighters of almost equal performance. The Me 109G-6 would not be able to exploit its prowess in the vertical plane, and it would certainly be outmaneuvered as well as outgunned by the Hellcat, whose view would be an asset. There was really no maneuver the German fighter could use effectively to evade the Hellcat, which would, nonetheless, have to be flown to its limits to ensure a kill.

Verdict: The Hellcat had a distinct edge over the Me 109G-6 but would not be able to overcome it without a lot of pilot sweat.

oh yeah ... Any native English speaker should see somethin' amiss ? Let's see , despite the rabbit out of hat somewhere above USN wanted the Corsair so bad it was down to straight lies . It was said the F4U was 20 miles faster than the F6F , like at all engine settings . Actually Grumman was given a Corsair and Vought an Hellcat to fix the failings of own aircraft by straight copying and stuff , now that there was a war going on . It was hard work , but Grumman finally succceeded in fixing the pitot tubes and stuff ; "apparently" no one had ever flown an Hellcat and a Corsair in formation ... There was no discernable speed difference between the two and at extreme high altitude the F6F was faster with its larger wing area providing enough lift with less drag . But F6F was "given" its 20 mph ... Hmpff , Lockheed was regularly breaking the sound wall with P-38s in screaming-down dives in those days .

after RN got so scared of trying to land Spits on deck and perforce had to find a way to use Corsairs and with a little trying even the USN could manage , despite a very experienced USMC F4U squadron was massacred or something in training to deckland as a counter for Kamikazes and London made sure there would be lots of Seafires on British carriers , the USN finally got a better model of the R2800 engine . Only for the F4U-4 and strictly denied to F6F-6 ; the future belonged to F8F . It was only at the end of the WW II that the Corsair could be trusted to have found its stride and even the Bearcat fell by the wayside with the proven and to-be-proven capability of the bent wing bird's to carry ordnance . But for the advent of the Skyraider , which was a rather lightweight answer to the USN's "heavy" attack demands , Vietnam would have seen the replacement of AU-1s with A-7s . What can ı say , war is the continuation of economy by other means .

"which one better" argument has an interesting-of-sorts support from the Russians . Bill Gunston , who never shied from trumpeting the glory of British Industry , has it that Yakovlev (who designed some nice fighters of the "lightweight" mould himself) would mock the P-47 and F6F , both users of R2800 that might have nearly weighed as much as the flimsier Yak versions , but avoided talking names about the F4U . You see , Stalin was not much of an aviation guy himself , having had Tupelov arrested for designing the Me-110 before Willy Messerschmidt or something and all that political lies and stuff , but he would listen attentively when the opinions were given , sourced by people who observed people who followed the trends .

all this talk of Hellcats makes me talk about cats . Mothercat back with 6 kittens . One was lost , my nephew found it lying on the ground , one of the two yellows , motionless with the rest of the family in a circle or something . Waiting for it get up . Mothercat quickly adopted a stray and ı take turns with the mothercat in whacking the stray when it snarls too much , scaring the kittens off the food . Make no mistake , mothercat would bite and scratch me to no end , if ı wasn't at the wrong end of that long stick , for the stray is also family but it's a matter of size . If kittens are 1 and the mothercat a 2 , the stray is 1.5 ... but still gives a wide berth to fatwhite (at a hefty 1.4) , leaving the 4 others to be careful when approaching the food box . ı know it's a thing of nature , that a pecking order will develop and ı have even seen rather more serious fights , apparently two males from the next street , presumably brothers too , actually biting the necks of each other . And being the same size and power , their racket goes on and on , a whole day ...

makes me more attentive to the catfight of the skinny with the yellow on the roof the shed in the garden . Skinny is certainly at the bottom as the 6th , while the yellow can possibly be taken as the 5th ... And when skinny meows -in pain presumably- ı go and get a glass of water and send the contents in the general direction . The grey watching the fight , the yellow and the skinny look around , with that curiosity of the cats . They smell , listen squint the eyes and look , far and close and far , all consumed with wonder at what just happened . They will no doubt fight again and skinny might be meowing again but in the end they are cats , they have the brains of a cat . "What did I do? What did I do?" does not justify the cranium volume .

see , the result or something only makes it more irritating . Yours idiotly goes to the bank , noticing people are so ready to declare they are doing nothing to me . This stems from the belief that the US is not nukeable on its own . And then it seems others are so ready to order me around . With news of success that will allow them to proclaim greatness just like the last decade proves time after time ... even with the relaxed gait to hint a thing to the counter . ı actually get shouted or something to go the counter in this practically empty hall and there's this guy who has brought immediately important papers to make me wait . Those are all young , it's not unreasonable to assume that they were barely out of diapers or something when the guards at the İş Bankası would make me wait another hour to pay the utility bills . On top of the two ı had already waited , wondering why and how people using the number of their accounts and my number never coming . At the height of February 28th thing , with the lazy yours idiotly having a beard ... Your demise will be celebrated with fireworks , ı will see to that . You are a product of the uniteralism of the Bush II era , when mine clearing monkeys from Morocco trumped dire warnings that creating a 'stan would not suffice . From your own old guard whom you are most unfit to follow . Those guys who knew the Japanese somewhere around here was there in 1945 to advise the Vietnamese (of both sides to come) that if they really got into trouble communicating with Westerners and stuff they might do real good to travel West and stuff and find people who would listen and ask questions and find out a way to make it heard without compromising weaknesses and pride . French was widely spoken in those days ; your old guard would be aware the dudes would be most intractable in direct contact , likely to have been napalmed and strafed by French flown Corsairs in the prelude to Dien Bien Phu , and would be most content to let their own views be heard in the same way back . An invite used to be proof of personal quality , no doubt in the age of dynosaurs , like 65 million years ago or something . Fireworks , pal , fireworks . And despite the honour bound obligation (to the guys who has like totally kept me alive as practically anyone who has unfortunately ever read this stupidity knows ) am only too happy that ı will never have to write anything anymore . On you ... So help me God .

you might well be encouraged by how Boris Johnson succesfully conducts diplomacy in a capital where onemanship is much in vogue with just this year's events of Johnson having won 1000 £s in an insulting competition . You are much correct in my foolishness and worthlessness of what ı am and say but you are on the way out , right ? ı could have played a Panzer General Forever scenario during the 3 hours ı wasted on this ; at least ı have a halfway decent addition to the book ı will not like totally finish or something .

the world will go on ; there will be even more "15 Temmuz güzellemesi" from the media with reports of how the evil coupist attack helicopter turning its "Doçka" onto the crowds and the heroic police fired a fusillade of bullets that scared the coupists away . There will be no need to explain that yours idiotly is an idiot who thinks it is ridiculous with the Doçka thing being slang or whatever for the Russian .50 caliber and all the attack helicopters in Turkey carry 20mm guns or something and all the firing by the seperatists like have never stopped an helicopter engagement but yours idiotly being a heretic or something can not understand the bullets of the police shout Allah Allah while whizzing away and all the infidels are thus scared away . Thank God that am not even following the media to any extent that ı was surprised to hear that there has been intense debate on whom will present at the opening of the Parliament and the office of the goverment generals has picked 160 soldiers , for the light blue uniforms . Oh , pity for the nice red uniforms of palace police .

well , ı suppose they will grow up to be just normal cats . The stray , when full , approached the stick that whacks it , hopefully gaining an impression that it's possible to eat without snarling . The grey was following the stick with speedy eye movements , cats being predators and stuff , if you can't eat it be ready to avoid it stuff when the black simply cut in front fully in posture , waiting for the scratch-my-back-after-my-meal , first time , just out of the blue . Cats own the world or something .

ah well , we all know -from the experience in the Spring- the mothercat is really vile . When it comes to telling kitties that they are too big for nursing . The last we saw of the stray was mothercat's paw on the hindside . Am pretty sure the stray's mother is the one that lives across the corner at the end of the street , strategically close to the butcher's shop and the young one was on what must be the feline equivalent of hiking coast to coast , in a meow for food programme . Mind you , they were quite close before . The last time ı whacked the stray , it kept its protests to a rather low noise ; its attempts to keep the head close to the foodbox earned it a strike on the head from the mothercat to the tune of ""Why don't you get it, brainless 4 legs?" Further insistance resulted in mothercat biting the stray's ear , with no pressure , as if to say "Hush, baby" and the stray really stopped the noise and the lot and waited ; am pretty sure it ate all it could , too .

cats can be much more reasonable , it seems . The spineless jerk's reaction to the world war at the door is getting himself in a spat with Adolfo Hitlero in Manila , you know , some guy you can't define without pointlessly insulting every Filipino/Filipina around , in a circle of a couple of lightyears across . Possibility of the extinction of the human race ? Call the president of some two bit American colony to arrange for the purification by genocide . He sez he will kill 3 million junkies . Uhmm , so what ? We have much braver people close by . Take this Chipras dude , who says the recent mud slinging at the Treaty of Laussanne , from Ankara no less , can have consequences . With the new dumbo now history , Greeks apparently can sigh a sigh of relief . After 1999 , almost two decades of uneasy friendship , confident some thing has ended and the x-person "can" in no way side with us and decide the end of any war in the Aegean . x-person is a rather soft translation of what they in Athens used which matches the Russian shorthand for their 76mm SPG in WW II . You see , a very basic failure across the board , the definition was saving the world from the wrath of the demonseed , not the other way around .

nobody ever asks r16 "What?" lately , assuming something must be really happening ; and the thing that happens is that the great friend of New Turkey , Barack spineless jerk Hussein , acts as if he needs a legacy for his lame Presidency and that will be clearing ISIL from Iraq . The smarties of course believe this must be so , after some Americans whisper this to their ears . And just like they have conquered Syria or something , latest count is 960 sq kilometers ; they will go and liberate Musul . And you know , sit on it afterwards . This is exactly why the PM calls Lozan as a betrayal of the country . Like 70 days after calling a great victory of Turkey and much approved by the Left considering you can't laud the treaty much without statements of approval about
İsmet İnönü . Lozan is such thing of the Islamists , it has always allowed them to paint the Republic in any colour that they could dare at the moment . See , the Jewhish people plot for centuries to bring the Ottomans down and they succeed in this by stealing Muslims' Jihad or something of 1919-22 and jettison everything they could , including the very Caliphate and the evil British give them a state , the heinous Republic . You know , there are people who call the treaty a treason for it allowed cemeteries in Gallipoli for the Allies . Ah , the Islamist is just a run-of-the-mill politician thing , no need to ask for a moral compass . He will talk so positive of the grandkids of Anzacs , thousands of them in that morning ritual , 'cause you see , the godless heretics are praying so there should be prayers in every possible venue in this most Moslem country . And sees it useful to talk of enemy in our midst , those graves soiling our sacred land . There's a clown that has made his career with "expertise" on the subject , currently going around with a fez on his head , some 70-80 year old dude boldly challenging the "ban" on it ; despite the PM had one strategically placed as his suppporters took over the only airport in Istanbul that was held by the coup ...

the Health Minister on the radio , just as ı was typing the Anzac thing , saying that they don't think Lozan is a victory , such stuff should be discussed and mind you , they think they will do better . You see , they are "ironing" peoples' heads that the West is trying to destroy the countries in the Middle East , that theZionist / Crusader alliance wants to "erase" the borders and guess what , them ever glorious smarties will just convince the whole world that Musul will be better if it joins Ankara . The fall of Musul in 2014 gained some extra coverage that it didn't actually need by the surrrender of so many hostages to ISIL at the Turkish Consulate , the glorious previous editions of the Goverment used to call those heart eating beheaders "angry young men" , they surrendered actual Turkish territory to ISIL , running away with the dead bodies of Süleyman
şah and two others in the "nick of time" to endear our other sunny brothers , seperatists in this case . To us . With like doubling our lands in Syria after building a new tomb 800 metres down the border , with full co-operation of the Syrian branch of the seperatists , an addition of 10 000 sq meters or what . Naturally before the disasterous first election of 2015 , with so many towns surrendered to the seperatists , righting the wrongs of Kurd opressing Republic , allowing our brothers who had lost their way in the atheist maze of the 20th Century to find their footing in the total Sunni reality . We now hear it was the Congregation that did it . That turned those towns over .

the only way Musul will join lands upnorth is when the last vestiges of a country for Turks is destroyed and everybody welcomes their new masters , according to their temparement . But then in the land of the blind , the deaf are the advisory experts . They don't even hear Baghdad's repeated calls for the removal of the so called Baskika camp . This is what they understand from right , that only might counts . No wonder , they destroyed the Republic , right ? They walk on the water , their wind breaking registers 9.0 on the Richters scale ; if that was the name of the thing . There are not even attempts to explain that this is a smokescreen for a scandal that sees the son-in-law of the owner of the so called mainstream media being a spy for the Party media , and a lackey , to boot ... Afterail scandals matter nothing to A-K-P , the peak and citadel of being Teflon made . Actually some loudmouth was on the Voice of Russia , making a point of how they would have no need for spies . Also bragging of how could make Ahmet Hakan bray in the Taksim Square if he wanted . This is the greatest thing for fascism and many other -isms , with -ists doing whatever they want , without the slightest concern that they might fall . Falling is for fools and they are so smart , you see . Being a lackey of the top allows so much ...

explains how the loudmouth goes unanswered , but Ahmet Hakan at least provides some stuff , to the contrary . What people said on the betrayal of the country . Now that am a bonafide Admiral in the Starfleet , you can make anything of my statement that one can invent stuff , but am yet to see the following exposed as fraudulent . The New Turkey knows everything better , it exposes everything but has not challenged those yet , if you prefer a different word order and stuff . Will be translating them from Turkish , might greatly differ from originals .

"At Laussanne the Allies had to consent to almost all demands of the Turkish Nationalists. A defeated and apparently broken Nation, has stood on debris and faced the greatest Nations of the world on absolutely equal standing to win its almost every single National desire." Arnold Toynbee first ; and presumably said it really so .

"The Treaty of Laussanne is the first striking failure of the British Diplomacy in a century. In the end, the treaty of Laussanne has driven Europe out of Turkey instead of driving Turkey out of Europe." The TIME magazine

"We signed a dishonourable Peace in Laussanne. This is the most inauspicious, the unhappiest and the most wicked treaty Britain has ever signed." Sir Andrew Ryan , a British diplomat

"Laussanne is the failure of Civilization... The reports from Ankara suggest the Peace is celebrated as a great Turkish victory there and it's indeed so." Lloyd George who kept asking for names , dates and a real support from every Zionist assembly he ever attented afterwards , because he lacked the brain capacity to grasp it could ever be done ; hence it was a Jewsih plot

"The Christian Civilization has been crucified at Laussanne." James Gerard , an American diplomat and ı don't know why am not surprised ... People really have no idea .

with such potency in mind , you know the all conquering New Turkey and its unbroken record of wins , wins and you know what , even more wins we will be like totally conquering Iraq , 'cause you know , the Kemalists gave away our lands and oil for their wicked abomination of a state , for stealing and raping a country and all the sweet talking experts are totally proving it so that fools will go out and fight and all the ministers of the A-K-P will be in tears and snot that they , too , want the honour of being a martyr . And of course they will be nowhere in sight , after their brilliant success of naming the primary military hospital after Abdülhamid , filling it with civilians in the name of Democracy and as it's claimed and counter-claimed causing the death of a Captain wounded in the Southeast and no place in intensive care units available anywhere . In case you don't know the heroic medical personnel of local origins down there kill policemen and soldiers and village guards if unattented . Of course am a fool , places will be found for Goverment Ministers , if they cut their fingers while cutting a slice of an apple . One had his heart surgery in Cleveland after God told his wife it was to be so in her dream . Meanwhile the Greek warrning which wasn't encountered before during all the bouts of verbal diarrea of courage is not merely related to the apparent failure of the talks of Enosis or something and they have to protect the hydrocarbon wealth off Cyprus . It's only that the skedaddle from the Tomb of Süleymanşah was like televised alive as a great victory , an awe inspiring operation that like matches the D-Day , while Turkish islands and islets in the Aegean have been turned over to Greeks real silently this side of the sea . While the Greeks like have military bands while they take over Turkish territory , 17 cases now claimed . The Last Prime Minister visited some Turkish island or something with a Greek stamp on his passport and apparently he has pictures of it . It's just that Athens feels they can now win a battle in the field , without that certain Americans dabbling and the whole freaking war now that there's an actual possibility of a 2 and a half front "option" for Turkey , 3 and a half if Russia comes in as well . Oh yeah , let's go and conquer Musul ; because A-K-P tells us they are 10 times da man compared to Kemal and the lot .

oh , ı have no doubt the ever glorious Army of Petrol will conquer the Andromeda Galaxy , if some dude carries a bunch of jihadists over there , after providing each "Muslim" a suitcase of dollars . Army of Petrol's prime action is to "butress" the supremacy of its civilian leadership . While this indeed what it's supposed to be in any 'ing Democracy , the remaining officers , somehow unsullied by all this rot that took place under their noses , provide one support after another . Unfortunately we have no visuals of this 4-star dude making the Congregation pig fly in the air with one slap but lots of arrest scenes of the coupists , their humiliation at the hands of NCOs and the lot , even footage of their battered faces and this last after the widespread belief in the West of torture ... The cult figure of the coup is the NCO that killed the coupist general ; his grave was visited by 500 000 people according to the figures of last month . That footage that runs every night . In which we see this 20 years veteran of Special Operations hiding in the bush in an unlit part of garden of the HQ building , sneaking in behind and shooting the coupist general and attempting to run . Indeed there's surprise in the coupist ranks but two run after him and one of them uses a whole magazine of 30 rounds of 5.56 on the NCO . Oh , the heroic part lies in the fact that the NCO is ordered to kill the General with no realistic expectation of survival , but let's keep the gritty mechanics out of sight and let people assume the NCO stood at the door of the HQ in full uniform and shot the traitorous b_stard with a single bullet in the middle of his forehead ... just like the whole 4th page of Hürriyet's supplement , "The Longest Night of Turkey" depicts ? Despite the guy's "American" haircut must be like proof that the illustrator doesn't know jack about life and stuff in the "Muslim" army ? But then the Special Operations was the PR center of excellence in the old flea-ridden army , the current personnel have rather more important stuff that then noticing they are also reinforcing a notion that the Turkish soldier is a back-stabbing coward .

or maybe they know it like a pig , as the saying goes .

it's obvious that the arrested Congregation members are not the sole military personnel that have betrayed their oaths and this feared or something bunch of ******s remained safely encosed behind their sandbags . There's going to be something else , there must be , possibly when some Saudi sheik arrives and says this is an Arab land now . Until then the Army of Petrol ensures enough rememberence that there are so many "Muslims" in all parts of the formerly Turkish Armed Forces , now extinct . "Muslims" to sneak behind and shoot people in most awkward moments . And hay is made vigilantly as the sun shines ; blazing accounts of how coupist generals will take 330 000 US dollars worth of retirement bonus while the family of the NCO in the paragraph above will get just 30 000 is a dandy tool for the economy of the plunder . When some rating agency cuts down Turkey's standing everybody jumps up and down , declaring it didn't hurt and the agency is part of Congregation's invasion plots or else paid by enemies of New Turkey or else a Zionist entity and nobody fears . Because the Congregation did a real swell job of creating a sizeable "Muslim" economy ; in Kayseri , a sizeable town as well , almost one fifth of industrial workers are employed by a single family whose property will now be confiscated . Any crisis will be weathered by the "Muslims" , allowing them to buy "secular" property by funding of the Saudi and the Qataris as well and that on the cheap . This despite American reluctance for a melt down in a country that insults them everyday , as if Kemal will rise from the Anıtkabir and crucify the Christian Civilization once again ; for this great nation or something will suddenly discover the Counter-Revolution aims to make concubines of their daughters , if not wives when the economy stumbles but enjoys the good going while it lasts , partaking in the lambasting of the Republic for the money in the pocket . This is American expertise for you ...

obvious that there will be reminders that it's not over yet , the Hydra of Congregation planning further outrages ... The November coup originates from supposedly ultra-leftists , those very guys organized the bloodiest May Day of Turkey , with 70 + dead , because they were Maoists or something back at the day . As far as this was discredited in the Ergenekon Conspiracy or something . So cozy with the Russians , you see , now that Putin indeed prefers a one-man thing in Turkey , so that flattering will work wonders . Much cheaper you know , compared to State to State deals . Drumpf , which will be such a surprise to Americans here in CFC , runs his entire campaign according to the principles of the same that has won so many elections , only because spineless jerk made such a poor showing of lulling people with a Starfleet and such courageously keeps himself to the wholesale murder of Arabs . Apparently we are harder . While Mrs. Rodham is "fully" funded as a Congregation supporter . Just do not rush to any conclusion that she might be preferable , having won her candicacy with "We came, we saw, he died." Nothing ı ever say ever makes sense just like Showercabinetsons post above somewhere stresses how Putin offered support for the showmanship that aims to replace the "transient and yet benevolent" dictatorship of Kemal of 60 years ago with enduring iron grip now and Drumpf expects wholesome support , because it turns out the Congregation was intending an army with 100% of the officers and non-coms belonging to itself alone . We are told they used a word to describe that as "clean" , but it kinda matches Aryan . ı have asked engineering teams whether they can decrease the power output of the basic turbolazer turret to a minimum so that Drumpf's hairdo can be set on fire from orbit .

and not that there is a coup or something in November . Putin feels uneasy on the Main Opposition's showmanship opposition ; 1600 police chiefs sacked ? A couple goes to the offices of the CHP and recount that they have made a poll between people they know and think only 400 are of the Congregation while the rest is unjustly thrown out with justification of a "Takiyye" , looking like alcohol consuming , womanizing seculars while being nuts of the spiritual leader of the Congregation in truth ... So the "more-leftists" accuse the Main Opposition of breaking the Yenikapı Spirit , the mass meeting where all 3 political parties made brotherly speeches . The Yenikapı Spirit is such a fragile thing , when some guy grabs iron bars on a bus and hits a nurse listening to her smart phone or something with a flying kick on the head with both of his feet , because she is wearing a short and she leads people to an adultery of the eye and the whole bus is need of a bath in the manner of the specific cleaning one takes after sex and all the losers in the country rant about it and the guy gets re-arrested , it hurts the brotherly feelings , the sense of a common destiny shaped by the threat of Congregation against both ways of life . The survival of the country depends on acceptance of everything people say ; talking on the what-the-hell-of-a-little-thing as a kick on the head is treason . The guy is nuts as the authorities say he is , despite the fact that he is a security employee in some private company and was authorised by a committee of 5 shrinks that he is sane enough to carry firearms in the line of duty . Ample reserves against the Russians are real , let's say we don't want to discourage them from winning the Syrian War as they have been promising they will for the last year and a half ; Drumpf's hairdo covers his own head alone , despite the looks that it might stretch across the Bering Strait .

our Aryan officer corps distresses or something yours idiotly so much that he finds solace in the failings of others . Maybe it's just a turn to normalcy , soldiering equalled being the scum of the earth , before the evil Nation State , maybe this is the right thing to laud the rapist cannibal religious fighter dude , instead of supposed ethos , honour and many other words ı don't even know how to spell . Yeah , let's trash American officers , say this guy who flew P-40s in China against the Japanese and ended up as a general in the USAF by the 1970s . This makes us to think he had some brains , certainly bigger than average chestnut ... He was also put forward to test fly the captured Zero , in the USAAC/USAAF counterpart to Koga's Zero , must be reasonable to assume that he could put up a coherent report , rather more than average fighter jock am assured .

to be honest we aviation weirdos of the 21st Century , the airplane nuts , have an unfair advantage over the guys who lived through those years , fought and bled in real life while their suffering is but a statistic or two to us . Making fun of the guy's statements 70 years after they happened and even 38 years after they were put to paper might be unfair , but can not be helped ...
"

One time we captured a Zero. It was the latest model at the time—a Mark 4 I believe—and we called it the Zeke. It had been shot down and was more or less intact, so after a month or so of work by Gerhard Neumann ["Herman the German," who was later director of General Electric's jet engine division] and some of his local talent, he pronounced it fit to fly. Several of us took a turn at some local flying around Kunming before looking for a volunteer to drive it across the Hump for eventual shipment back to the States. It was a revelation. My general reaction was one of riding a motorized orange crate, and I was thankful as never before that we had the P-40s and they had the Zeros instead of the other way around. After a couple of familiarization rides, Maj. Grant Mahony and I decided to do some side-by-side testing. We squared off first for level speed runs. As expected, the P-40 was faster below about 12,000 feet, but above that the Zeke had an advantage which became greater as the altitude increased. Because we had no oxygen equipment compatible with fittings in the Zeke, we did not try anything above 20,000, but at that level the Zeke was still climbing at about 1,000 ft/min and the P-40 was essentially through. Grant said, "now let's try some dives," and I responded, "not on your life. I'm afraid to nose this thing over enough even to get back to the field."

right of the bat , they didn't capture those in question and they were not shot down . Running out of fuel or something they were on some beach on Hainan or something . The 3 planes were smuggled out under the noses of the Japanese and Gerhard Neumann assembled a test article out of the trio . And the names , ah the names . Zeke was the official Allied code name for the A6M , while Zero comes from its Japanese classification that might paraphrased as Naval Fighter introduced in the Year 0 , 2600 or 1940 for us non-Japanese... The paragraph qouted is a fragment of a general account of his war years and when talks of tactics he counts "

Zeros, Zekes, Tojos, and a few Heinkels that we engaged" as his opponents . We have seen Zeros were supreme , right ? Flying Tigers of the AVG fame apparently never engaged A6Ms in their kinda brief existance , but shooting down Zeros was over cool , so Ki-43s of the Japanese Army became Zeros , and the Zeros were then Zekes . Am doubtful about the Heinkel , it might be few HE-112s sold to Japan or he similarly misidentifies the Ki-61 which was a Tony . Or as a possibility it's the He-113 though this last was famous for outrunning anything in the air . Like Spitfires and not the P-40s that can not climb over 6 000 metres ... And of course Zero Mk IV , or 4 didn't exist . Japanese have claimed it sounded too much like Death in their language so they didn't even bother while yours idiotly has the position that super-duper charged high altitude variant was beyond Nippon's means and that fact caused a nervous break down on part of Jiro Horikoshi , the guy who designed the A6M . Do not let this cloud the tale by the General though ; they have just got the F-15 into USAF service while at Red Flag they are training wildly , after kinda being drummed by other yellow people recently , the Vietnamese in this case . You can trust him to embolden the coming generation of fighter jocks the world is for their taking , now that as a punk he found the Dog variety of the Zero a motorized orange crate . Though , say , Eric Brown might have loved it . Had it existed .

let's wrap this up with a general summary . The ability of the p-40 to dive at high speed and to keep that momentum

"
was tremendously important in the tactics we used against the Japanese Zeros, Zekes, Tojos, and a few Heinkels that we engaged, because we were no match at all for these lightweights in the climb, at high altitude, or in a turn at any altitude.

In contrast, they were no match for us in armament, ruggedness,
or diving speed. Their best fighter, the Tojo, was faster than a P-40 in level flight above approximately 10,000 feet, but slightly slower below that ... Accordingly, we emphasized our superiorities through various forms of working in pairs (doctrinally ) , seeking initial advantages in altitude and surprise positioning, and never, under any circumstances, attempting a turning or climbing fight. Many people have described CBI tactics with the the Jap fighters as hit and run, but I consider this an inaccurate description. Certainly we always tried to hit, and hit first, but the running part consisted in getting away when cornered or tailed by diving out and hopefully losing the pursuer long enough to get back up and acquire a new position of advantage. This usually could be done even when substantially outnumbered, either by the element leader or the wingman always covering his alter ego. The cardinal rule of working in pairs—no matter what happened to the entire formation in an aerial melee—plus the unravelling dive speed of the Japanese of about 375 mph, plus the inherently better eyesight of Americans made these air combat tactics most successful, with an over-all air-to-air kill ratio in the CBI theatre of about 12 to 1 in our favor."

indeed correct . We just read that the proffessional opinion of an officer in American service that the Japanese did not eat enough carrots . It seems to be established that the USN could almost never win a night enegagement with the Japanese before they got radars fully into the game , and it must be not just beautiful binoculars , right ?

conspiracy mindedness is a bad thing , you see connections between most pointless stuff . Why , CFC changed its software and stuff ? Why ? Because there are 45 or 47 #305s in this very page , making it even more tormentable to read it . Why ? Because the Armageddon is on . With no Liv Tyler in it . Just like Jennifer Connely , you just turn down the sound and watch otherwise utterly ridiculous movies by such faces , because because ... Nothing against Keanu Reeves , but just saw the Day World Stood or something where jet engined Predators move between high rises in "tactical" speeds , you know like breaking the sound wall ... You see 'em loaded with them Hellfires but hear the drone commander calling for Sidewinders ... 'Cause you know in the War against Terror , Americans blow everything up with them Hellfires , actual terrorists and mums and kids , still Brown for the duration ... You don't want , do you ? That the world to think Hellfire could ever fail , say against the Archangel of Death or something , even when it's a colony of robot locusts or something . Not just because it serves the conception of American way of life is heaven on earth and its detractors are to be given Hell , and that not merely with the 7 inch diameter HEAT warhead . Hell in this life and the next ; if it works that way ... Or the other world , when God Descends onto this and taught His Place , by these well meaning or something bunch of American Fundamentalists .

not much to do , except watching DVD channels and stuff ; actually saw the first episode of Moonlighting re-run on TV , which ı might have first seen in Black and White . Yeah , Bruce Willis has hair , that's how old it is ... He didn't have much in Armageddon , but that's hardly the issue here . ISIL has been blabbing long about defeating the Romans in Dabık , also the location of the defeat of the Memluks in 1516 . On the exact 500 th anniversary of it , the mighty glorious conquest of Syria was begun by the New Turkey , with troops leaving their barracks with Mehter , 'cause the July 15th Disgrace is the beginning of the reign of New with no traitors left to stop this most auspicious action . Romans , naturally , being us Turks , the infidels after this almost 1000 years of being Muslims and ISIL will capture Istanbul and the lot . ISIL is not yet defeated , despite years long assurances of the mighty glorious Army of Petrol could reach Damascus in 3 days , blitzing over 350 kilometers or so . 50 days have not sufficed for 50 kilometers ... Not because of any desire for the safety of proxies , the so called free rabble of Syrians , but ISIL needed to be kept safe . So that the Sunnis of Iraq will be tempted to fight the evil Shia .

in the forthcoming liberation of Musul . Despite the New Turkey keeping the stars in their tracks and mixing the nebulas for the creation of new solar systems , it has been denied a place in that table ... Proxies bribed and "trained" complain the only place offered to them is an operation in Tikrit , which is the exact same thing the Army of Petrol of 2003 accepted and got stabbed in the back by the Parliament with its failure of pass it with enough votes . Much strategic wisdom flouting from Ankara on how the other option , Telafer can not be given to the Shia militias ... Because the Shia Türkmen of the area were loveably massacred and driven away by the glorious ISIL at its infancy , with excited coverage of victories by Turkish TVs , considering Telafer was the only place the SSunni brothers were given a bloody nose in 2014 . With the refugees cold shouldered by the most gloriously efficient and effective refugee management of the New Turkey . Who never backed from any task when it came to creating Sunni-only-camps-to-be-approved-by Angelina Jolie . With her divorce problems , its Lindsay Lohan to laud the glory of the humanity of the New Turkey , did anyone hear she almost lost her finger in an accident on a boat in an holiday resort and it was magnificiently put back on ?Presumably still on booze much . The TVs also lauded the heroism of Elton John who bravely came here , after the evil propaganda against the Goverment after the July 15th Disgrace . He might have been paid a million bucks or he might not , but not a single discussion of how he is married to some other man . See , any Sunni Jihadi is a brother .

america , it's alleged , wants to balance Iran with Turkey . Back from the Cold , Tahran must be countered by something lest it breaks stuff in the fragile gift shop of the Middle East , züccaciye dükkanı meaning zilch for you Westerners . That this could be much "better" in silence , with Iran always behaving during the Republic can not be allowed to enter the equation , because that's the latest cover for the Counter-Revolution . You know , if Iran is a 'ing threat to world security and stability , America should not cover its excesses and like totally allow them to happen . It's pitiful at times , this great owner of the world , Uncle Sam needing one proxy after another for the good fight . The Iraqi Parliament passes a resolution that calls Ankara an invader ; leads to catcalls from here that they are nothing but cowards who like totally failed to label the US as such . Iraq's resolution is supported on the same day by an American Colonel that calls the Army of Petrol presence in Bashika illegal . Ankara naturally goes and bribes Barzani , who still fails to call it that the Army of Petrol was invited to location by his awesome magnifience , himself ı mean . That took a personal call from the most heroic commander of the special operations of the Army of Petrol , he surely isn't one of those guys , majors and captains with tents on the Turkish Iraqi border in the 1990s , where Barzani and Talabani would wait to be called in . Kurds blame Iraqis , but avoiding the currents of time , with each pulse of an heartbeat brings Turkish doom closer ? America steps in , says the Colonel never said anything like that , it's a lie ! The spokesperson of the US State Department was asked on the day before and he had said nothing ... See , Iranians , their Iraqi pals , Kurds , the New Turkey all wait for the time . To pounce to the tune of America . Which still doesn't come ...

though we were given the spectacle of the NCO enjoying himself greatly at some Atatürk "corner" in some military garrison in Pakistan . These take the form of some picture of the guy and a couple pieces of papers that say good stuff about him . This proves , like totally , to yours idiotly for starters , the NCO was a most awesome Kemalist . Some guy calls the Main Opposition stuff , like only because Putin welcomes the one man thing ? Trust him to be on the TV channel of the Main Opposition , telling the audience that the Army of Petrol is heroically fighting all comers , not "bombing mountains and stones" as the traitorous Congregation did . Did you hear there was not a single casualty in a series of aerial attacks that supposedly killed 150 or so seperatists ? Because of such PR-savviness that resulted the studio audience clapping hands and chanting supportive slogans , Moscow will not be offended to learn 8 more tank divisions have been added to the Russian "Front" . They were not needed elsewhere anyhow . That there is no end to the litany of Congregation crimes , which tends to be true in quite a few cases , is no cover ... is such a difficult concept to grasp , right ? Say , the case of the guy that didn't have part of the left index finger . That would have eliminated him right from the start , no ? He failed flight training in the T-37 phase , yes ? Rules were changed for him and he was re-instated and somehow passed the T-38 phase , yes and no ? That it was like really written on his forehead that he was with the Congregation does not count , if it's before December 2013 in any case . Oh , then , only then we hear he was a coward who didn't have an heart to fly F-16s . How on earth he could fly one , now that HOTAS controls require that very same Left Index finger ? Or the case that did have the heart ... A fool that stuck his belt onto the controls while he was relieving himself into this bag of sponge ; that's exactly why his wingman lost him and never saw him crash . Yours idiotly ranting about that , too , in a Syria thread . That makes them at least two F-16s , the previous one must be an USAF one in the 1990s .

means nothing to us mortals . Was off to some fancy neighbourhood , having seen ads of sale , 50% off for cat food . Sure enough the same mall that billed me double for a pair of lighters a year or two back ... Dependable to full , to bill me 6.5 liras for a 500gr pack , and this despite ı spent like 5 minutes to see it was indeed about 3.15 . Aptal vergisi is a must for fools like me , sure . The owner company is supposed to deliver tanks next year , which will no doubt prove that they are like 10 times better the bog standart M-60s deployed to Syria , you know almost to create a statistical background , with now at least 5 killed behind not-enough-even-for-1960 armour . Surely will explain why the Altay , the tank comes at double the price . Students are no longer aware that they are using a webname of mine as an equivalent of fool when they are like charming their friends . And maybe it's also related to the fancy neighbourhood where people are all rolling on the ground at the sight of yours idiotly . Some girl in shorts declares stuff as walk by , she would just die laughing if she was to hear am taken as a primary reason why she still has a "right" to wear that skimpy thing . Or not , according her own choice alone . She sure wasn't there when this guy sitting next to me train used his smart phone , dug up some movie and turned up the voice so that ı could hear the 3rd airport of Istanbul was a wonder of the world and like the only reason why Moscow , MOSSAD , CIA , Germany , the Congregation , Esad , seperatists , Shia , EU and the Illuminati joined hands to stop it . Actually not , but 78 million square meters of that project to be used for planting for trees invariably gets followed by such . You know , the 3rd bridge on the Bosphorus was similarly the envy of the world which was the prime reason of the Gezi as we are told ; like 7 people died and the bridge was heroically built as if it was the Alevis firing the tear gas canisters and water cannons . Heroically built and useful for no one , because they haven't raped the forests to the hilt yet , for all the new housing . They made it compulsory for trucks and buses and truck drivers easily prefer paying traffic fines instead of wasting a whole day with the unfinished infrastructure around . With the bridge near Izmit , these two glorious wonders of the world mean almost a decade of the entire income of the authority of highways will be paid to the companies that built them , taxpayer money to be used if that said income does not match projections . A couple more such wonders and the guy will have to sell his smart phone to pay his taxes . Or shall we expect another Congregation coup ?

all lies , to be covered with further successes of New Turkey . Their proxies have captured 1000 square kilometers of Syria , with the eventual target of 5000 . Not because there is any specific requirement for that but the military planning to make most most of the debacle of starting and succouring the war in Syria foresaw a maybe 4500 and it was rounded up for PR value . Of the conquerors of the New Turkey . There is ever more talk of they actually surrendered the Turkish islands , islets and the lot in the Aegean with a written protocol . To them Greeks , who are supposed to be begging the EU for a fist of Euros so that they will not starve next week . This is exactly why there is talk of all those betrayals of Laussanne and beyond . Italy invades Libya , stuff goes wrong , Italy invades the Dodecanese as ransom , stuff goes wrong with the Balkan wars , Italy gobbles the islands , Ottoman "Empire" signs the dotted line in 1913 . Complete ? Of course , no ... WW II , Germans offer to return the islands . Actually the provision that the demand to recognize Mussoluni's rump state in the North comes later , after it's like totally denied by Ankara -to provide a justification . Winston's great diplomatic success will lead to such enjoyment of the spectacle as German paratroopers and Stukas drive the British from some Aegean island , in 1944 to boot ... Winston will repay the Greeks who threatened a war they would not win , even with the entirity of Task Force 38/58 , with a nice little Civil War . With what he does to his friends , imagine what would happen to his enemies ... Does A-K-P mention any of this ? No , they claim the West would have given the islands to Turkey in 1947 who did like sh_t in the Second World War in contrast to the Greeks with like hundreds of thousands of casualties due to starvation , in addition to desperate partizan warfare . A-K-P doesn't even mention the Turkish diplomats tried to get invited to the Paris Congress of 1947 but were tersely turned down by the British . Muddled as usual ? When Husky starts and Germans recognize they don't have the means to fight an amphibious operation , with their new fangled guided weaponry failing to penetrate the clouds of angry little Spits in the required rate , they discover the Dodecanese is out on a limb ; that they can be invaded in a military operation that might even impress Ankara to join the war . Which opens the Straits which like doubles the rate of delivery to the Red Army , if you don't get the number just do not ask . But If they give the islands away themselves , we will just sit tight on them and there will be no escort fighter bases on them to cover further Tidal Waves , the disasterous B-24 raid on Ploesti . That they happened in 1944 , from bases in Foggia , doesn't dent the argument at all , those P-38s could do even better if they took off from Rhodes , right ? Let alone Çorlu ...

as ı write this down , the radio assures yours idiotly with further victories of the aerial branch of the Army of Petrol ; they have destroyed a "Doçka" site and the planes have returned safely to their bases . Am pretty sure that's what Americans called .51 caliber in Vietnam 40 to 50 years ago and was a respectable capability in air defence . Like half a century ago ... To call it a strategic weapon , as the Voice of Russia does ? It was like much better when the guys almost mocked me live , and trust me ı can tell . Oh sure , when the seperatists get 14.5 quads they will rate as nuclear bombs ... But there's no reason to fear . They allowed Congregation to take over Military schools so that the Republic would have no one fight for it when the time came , they closed the military schools when Congregation had them exclusively for its brightest or something . Now there's an academy or something for Defence . To be headed by a famous historian professor . His credentials in Defence unknown but he's sure to tell of how Ottomans did stuff . He was an advisor to the Magnificient Century , the famous or something TV series . When the Grand Seignor spent far too much in the Harem for the liking of new powers that be , which readily hurt A-K-P propaganda that he was merely a template for what would be achieved in the 21st Century , it was the month of fasting on TV , which must have lasted 3 months , at least . Have no fear indeed , he is made the top official only to cover the "liquidation" of the building of former Kuleli ... He is an historian , he respects historic buildings , right ?

and his teachers are bound to come through the glorious new tests the like of which were rarely seen in this country at least for centuries . That nothing works in this country was and is a given but they are indeed something . The best Islamists were taken by the Congregation , they are now to be replaced . The rest of the Islamists naturally can not exactly measure up to either to them or the multitude of godless heretics who have somehow finished their universities , so the verbal questions that naturally trumps any written test revolve around the candidate teacher's ideas on what he/she thinks about the Chief . The Minister of Education insists anyone who fails to start lauding the PM to best possible will still be considered for the job ... Similarly the thing about changing the fate of the 20th Century . You see , the A-K-P did not exist in the 20th , but its glorious leaadership like totally reversed the heinous actions of the same ...

mind you am just about forming this odd theory about the school of thought that sees the Great War as the Third Balkan War , with the decade of war for the Turks apparently gaining evermore international recognation . Me being me , ı think this is some plot to make the Turkish War of Liberation non-unique , some plan by the Ottomans to survive the catalysmic end of theirs , naturally making the Republic a betrayal and a treason . You know , so that the Starfleet will not be orbitally bombarding ... ı have found this book that deals with the Balkan Wars as the trigger for the World War , and Libya being the match in the powder keg for all . With Italians being so apologectic , their attacks on the Ottoman ships in the Balkan ports being unordered by Rome but realized by medal hungry ship commanders . You know , with Italy being "least of Great Powers" , and this unique history of losing the greatest empire mankind has "ever" known , matchless experience of otherwise two-bit city cities commanding the world economy through trade with the Orient and Venice / Genoa never succeeding in overcoming "regional powers" to their taste and unfortunately Istanbul in 1900 being as dead as it was in 1450 ... Never minding Venice attempting to be land power of sorts ended with it being replaced by the Brits who had the werewithal to be both traders and over time occupiers . An ever more cognizant reason for the third member of the Entente or something to realize the Ottomans were such a good thing for them and being the first to stab people in the back , Austria-Hungary to follow with like starting the First Balkan War to attrite Serbia a bit and take over more Turkish land for services rendered and Germany doing the same and a bit more throughout the 1914-18 period . Ah , "their peaceful penetration will never make the headway" decide the Italians and they just take provinces of the Ottoman Empire and the Turk will accept and roll over and die . While the Arabs will welcome their liberators with flowers . It would be really fun to have a video of the day when some Italians arrive and tell the notables of Tripoli now they are free form the yoke of the Ottomans . And the notables ask that they were equal citizens in the Ottoman Empire , will they be the same under Italian rule ? And a massacre that propels the good Italians into what ı recognize from Anthony Quinn's Ömer Muhtar ... Apparently some little thing ends up with the wholesale massacre of 480 , maybe 500 Italians . The author assumes happened because the Italian troops assumed they could flirt and stuff , if not cheaply buy the local women and Arab civilians went far beyond the needs of fighting , crucifications and stuff claimed . See , not many civilized people can understand the fear in people , people who fear what might happen when the Turks come back .

ı hate new forum format so much , even if saved .html files come up with background colours when opened at home , in contrast to the old that would be bog standart white ; it took saving as an .htm to have stuff like that . Of course this is not the exact truth with ,discovering there were "editions" of the old format that savewd in colour as well . But the thing is ? Kinda spending less time in CFC which then kinda creates a gap inside , with it being the steadiest web presence of mine in this decade ı have been surfin' ... Yeah , time for pointless pontification . And let's make that on some treatise on why diplomacy , the art of liars , becomes even more dishonest when it comes to us . WH having seen some spate of activity due a discussion on the outbreak of WW I , let's stick to that , too .

the Ottoman demise started the WW I , that's kinda for sure . Reading books and stuff is a must when one is about to rant with pseudo-expertise . You will agree that am most unlikely to "remember" 1914 , you know as if it was 2014 and the whole world chickened out from coming and seeing the total end of us . Yeah , you know , my service lightsaber , Incom 65s and the lot . One is immediately surprised to read the desctruction of the Ottomans was a terrifying prospect at the time , too .

more chaff , stuff repeated a millionth time . The Ottomans were too big , their fall would create the ever present unstability . If hated so much , how did we ever grow so big in the first place ? Happy accident that Christians hate each others' guts and the Catholic Frenk was gaining a solid lead against the Orthodox Rum . People have never like being raped and massacred , when confronted by the barbar who knew nothing about the world and the civilized feudal overlord , nine times out of ten the demonseed was the choice of the peoples of Eastern Europe . It took like 200 years of Crusades and stuff for the Frenk , the Church in Rome in particular , to give up the ghost . Of maintaining a sea barrier against the evil Turk . All the respected historians and stuff of the Free World or something say there's no link between the Huns and what came later , apart being horse mounted nomads , always blood thirsty and deadly archers . It certainly didn't look that way to the Europeans of the day . Somehow descendants of the Romans they were used to have Barbarians at the gates , always a huge military problem , somehow descendants of Alexander the so called Great they were always attuned to visions of conquering the East . Parthians being so tough for Rome , the defeat of Sassanids and the Muslim conquest of Iran was even welcomed , giving some comfort during the devastating fall of the Christian Middle East that accompanied all that . The fortress to be conquered within ... through Islam's respect for Judeo-Christianity , that People of the Book approach created an opening , a possibility for diligent missionary work , just in the sense Rome had always converted Barbarians into useful citizens of sorts .

you are indeed about to see the pattern . And at the very beginning of it , too . A balance re-attained between the West and the East , Alexander's descendants back in the game against offspring of Alexander's enemies with Arabs absorbing the gist of Iran's millenia long experience of "superpower confrontation" . Say , the tale of Tomrys survives this long only because it showed the "matchless" East could be beaten in its own game and its ruthless leaders could end up serving as wine goblets ... With the East responding on how great its recuparative powers were and Tomris was immediately beaten anyhow ... So , finally we have the Hazars , a pagan state of some standing between the Eastern Rome , decadent , rotting , tottering but always capable of re-bounding back , with the legacy of Pax Romana , because nobody likes being massacred and the lot . And Arabs , having already spent Muhammed's Peace in the name of their own imperialism , are so busy securing the steppes . They encounter the name Turk , they defeat the Turk as everybody always does . So the pagans are given a stark choice , gotta join one ... Arabs conquer by the sword , Byzantium is a long time ally , tales of success against China in a previous century amount to nothing . Cultural reforms and the lot needed ... with two stellar examples right on the borders . Must either join the Cross or go with the Crescent . What happenz ? The ruling elite converts to Judaism ... With public remaining with the Shamans and business like readily becoming Muslims , so that they can trade in the Arab lands . The never ending contempt against the Turks start from this day . A fool who thinks he is a smooth operator , the Turk is always readily identified by his betters as a moron . The Byzantium's revenge takes time as they push forward a new warlike race descending from the Vikings , better known as the Rus . Arabs are heady in those days but will shortly be freaked out by the horse nomad's capability for war ; as the decision between the Umeyyad and the Abbasid takes place ... Centuries of brutal oppression to follow , because the ubermench of so called Muslim empire can not bring themselves to accept that some of their finest were finally pushed aside by Turks , basically barbarians . Which will fail in the end ...

with the Abbasi caliphs becoming pawns at the hands of their mercenary commanders and finally Turkish becoming the language of the ruling elites in the Middle East . Romen Diyojen , the emperor of 1071 , suddenly remembers Turk the pushover and decides he will cut the Gordion's knot and be Alexander or something . He presses the war on a reluctant Alparslan ; the Western history assures the battle of Malazgirt was nothing , the New Turkey tells us it was a titanic struggle that could only be won by the help of our Sunni brothers , the Kurds and the Arabs , because we Turks are a sh_tty bunch of no goods , if they could Greeks would have gone Zyklon B on Armenians for some reason . Anyhow it happenz , Rome falls , or something . Balance of Power runs on perceptions most of the time . The West fears the East is coming back and Eastern Europe (being full of monkeys who fail to see the light of the Catholic beliefs) might fall as easily as Anatolia . Direct action fails , indirect action in places like Egypt , rich provinces of the Islamic "monolith", distracts the Europeans more than it does the Muslims .

there was no way Ottomans could have happened if the Roman Catholic Church talked to the Genoans and the Venetians and banned the tranfer of people and stuff across the Straits but there was this fear of Mongol Fury II . The West by now had an inkling of the actual presence of China and its awe inspiring size and tech parity . The descendants of Cengiz might come back one day -with China in tow , Christians needed a bulwark or two , way better if some morons took over bits of hinterland of the Eastern Rome , enfeebled at time but might decide to ally with the dangerous foes lurking in the East , you know , to avenge 1204 . Ottomans were seen as descendants of the Anatolian branch of Selçuk state , too far to the East and too close to the West . 1450s would be a heady time for Rome the Church as they tried to convert Mehmet II himself ; there is this weirdly strange fixation in the Occident to prove its greatness by imposing its own on people . Hazars , right ? Turks never amount to anything on their own and by now you must have an inkling on why the Crusades started with Jewish massacres in European cities ... A fair warning to evil Jesus killers and stuff that masterminding morons would not be accepted . All the real historians have pages and pages long explanations of the exciment in the Christians , a religious frenzy , a phobia about "foreign" cultures , all that stuff . Well , what do real historians know ? But let's keep to Genoans and stuff . In every campaign in Europe , the Ottomans would have to beg them and pay fortunes for ferrying troops across , because the Italian maritime cities had fully effective navies that would never tolerate any budding hostile naval power in Marmara , an Ottoman lake by 1400 if you look at maps alone ... Because the horse nomad past of the Ottomans combined with a powerful foot in the shape of Yeniçeri force utterly transformed the Balkans , with a conquest that almost matched the Anatolian experience in speed . Istanbul was the key . It being Byzantium faciliated Western presence which destroyed Ottoman attempts at building a navy , without a navy the Ottomans could not isolate the city . Discounting the actual failing of the light vessels to stop the aid convoy in high sided merchantmen during the siege. Gunpowder defeated Byzantium long before the first big cannons were cast in Edirne , with realization that the Straits could be closed to all sorts of Italian traffic , including lucrative trade . All that came to pass because both shores of both straits were held by the Ottomans . So much innuendo that the Republic was a British plot to destroy the esteemed Ottomans and the Caliphate , hmppfh . Ottomans was a Catholic oversight .

that the conquest of Istanbul allowed a navy , which actually made the Ottomans a real world power , immediately ready to built and deploy fleets that scared the hell out of the Venetians left to face them and allowed the participation in the always profitable Corse de Guerre and that the first notable affair of the said fledgeling naval presence was the saving of Muslims , and yes , the Jews in 1492 would have been much more damaging to us , with possibly a new round of Crusades , possibly curtailing the Protestants and the stuff for another century but for the discovery of the New World . We were merely hated for all that and had to wait with a bated breath . As the West found an easier outlet to expand ... You know , the Catholics in the form of Spaniards and the Portugese sailing across the oceans for easy loot while the industrious Northern Europeans were cut out of such simple because they weren't of the right stock , born in the right family , and born in the right place , especially in the case of Spanish Empire to come . Peninsulares were the tops , ı hear , automatically entitled to anything but they were so few in number thus unable to reverse the trend downward when the French and the British went into high gear and yet continiously alienating the otherwise capable "Americans" and stuff . See , the currently much popular 30 Years War , the sectarian European bloodletting is also our fault . Because the popes , much delighted with eradication of Islam from such an important part of Europe awarded the Good Christians with the rest of the world , while lazy Christians were like doing nothing against the Turkish devilry .

and guess what , ı saw that Turks can be accused of the 30 Years War as well in an aviation forum . As a joke , after remarks on the "supposed" support for ISIL ... Uhhm , the Turk had already replaced Saracen as a catch-all phrase for the Muslims by the time the Portugese had rounded Africa and were busy devastating Arab trade in the Indian Ocean ... And they were full of plans to drive up the Red Sea to capture Mekke , burn the Kabe and steal Muhammed's body . What was any German doin' at the time ? Martin Luther would have remained a nobody without the lots of Princes to keep him safe from burning at the stake ; instead he became a notable anti-Turkish ideologue or something now that his entire thing kinda stems out being left in the cold for lack of action .

expansion was the thing back in the day , uttered like a hundred times as everything has already been in this thread . Agriculture was not exactly rewarding , you starved if the yield was under a given amount , yet sons needed fields to work on when they raised families of their own . As you didn't grow fields in trees soon a moment would come that there wasn't enough land . If no other trades available to cover for them you either starved or went out and took it from someone else . Internal disturbance , or rather tidier , war . Which cut down the number of people demanding a piece of land in victory or defeat . Victory was sweeter in that it allowed the conquest of additional land to be distributed among the participants . There might have been highly profitable businesses but nothing compared to ownership of land ... The highly educated classes of Europe were aware of how much land were being away , like free , to the Iberians simply because they had Muslim skulls to crack nearby . That they kinda rebelled since travelling all the way to Balkans was a hassle already ? Is that noble or something ? Must be better than Henry creating his own church since the Pope in Rome was tired of divorcing him like twice a year ... ı have this e-book somewhere that suggests there was trepidition in London that Elizabeth might become Muslim , you know , for an automatic alliance against Spain ... Considering the phrase Albion Perfide , ı can only say Tanrı Türk'ü korumu
ş , because it might have been really to much to behold . Morons masterminded by the Jews now having a second equally disliked mindset would have surely resulted in us crucified and quartered while burned , all three taking place simultenously .

and expansion was not for the fields alone , one might also could find minerals and stuff . ı must say one must really read , even in stupidly nonsense garbage like this . Take Uranium , yet another e-book to read ; the internet can be so distruptive , so mucho take that taking takes precedence before using . Krušnè Hory, or the “Cruel Mountains,” becomes a very popular place when silver is discovered

Count Schlick... told his metallurgists to start minting coins ... The first silver disks ... were big—larger and weightier than any other coin in circulation. Carrying one in a pocket made a person feel instantly rich. They became a regional sensation.

Count Schlick disappeared after marching off to fight the Turks in 1528, and his mines were eventually annexed by the Hapsburg house of Vienna, which ensured a wider reach for the valley’s silver... The big, heavy coins became a staple in market tills and court treasuries in France, Spain, and England. It was a publicity coup for the valley. Merchants began calling the coins Joachimsthalers, later shortened to “thalers,” which became bastardized to “dollars” in English-speaking regions.

also the location where the supplies for radioactive research will be sourced that in about 400 years later it will be possible to build nukes ... Mind you , am not blaming that on us Turks , the Curie Family would have isolated stuff irregardless of whether some Count Schlick owned the mines or not . Though the thing is Nazis can now dig Uranium to build da bomb . The one the American exceptionalism paints as an American breakthrough due to diligent work and brilliance . ı failed to lock the comparative percentages of and hope to locate them when reading in full but let's say the annexation of Czechoslovakia in '39 leads Einstein to write the letter to the White House to warn of the possibility of Adolf having a fission weapon , and soon . Despite the inactivity which is like presented as an historical fact it's about to have seismic effects . See the Cruel Mountains or the Joachim Valley as Count Schlick called his operation might have led so indirectly to America's prime thing , the Dollar but it's considered to have a high concentration of uranium . Yet there's also this mine in Congo ...

Shinkolobwe was a much bigger prize. Parts of its ore body demonstrated a freakishly high grade of 63 percent uranium. Moreover, it could be operated in the secrecy and obscurity of the African heartland, with a ready workforce close at hand and within the borders of a friendly colonial power. It is doubtful the Manhattan Project ever would have developed a bomb without Shinkolobwe. Even its garbage was a treasure. The geologist Phillip Merritt was sent out to the mine for a look in 1943, and he found ore in the waste piles that registered up to 20 percent pure uranium, far surpassing anything else that could be mined in the world.

of course there will be the War and the invasion of Belgium which made it rather more attractive ... Because there's a war and money to throw around

...At $1.04 per pound, the price was slightly inflated, but Groves had a bottomless budget, and uranium now appeared to be the possible savior of the Allied cause and the energy source of the future. Groves said later in his memoirs, “Its value had never been determined in the open market, and now there was only one purchaser and one seller.”

With the [purchase of Belgian stocks completed], the United States set about denying uranium to the rest of the world. It was thought at the time that uranium was a geologically rare element, found only in select locations. He who controlled the uranium deposits, therefore, ought to be able to control the world after the war was over. This was the philosophy behind a clandestine survey of global uranium reserves, conducted for the Manhattan Project by Major Paul L. Guarin, a Texan who had worked as a geologist for Shell Oil beore the war and possessed a swashbuckling temperament that suited Groves, who remarked, “I did not want anyone who would always insist on 100 percent proof before making a move.” Under the code name “Murray Hill Area,” after a neighborhood in Manhattan, Guarin hired consultants from Union Carbide to comb about sixty-seven thousand geological volumes, assay soil samples from twenty friendly or neutral countries, and study new methods for identifying uranium ore deposits. Nations were then cataloged according to their uranium-bearing potential. The only one that rated “excellent” was the Belgian Congo. Listed as “good” were Canada, the United States, and Sweden; and judged “fair” were Czechoslovakia, Portugal, and South Africa. The USSR and Bulgaria were marked as “unknown.”

“All other countries appear to have very poor production possibilities,” concluded the final report. This was based entirely on Leslie Groves’s working assumption that just a few places in the earth’s crust—such as Colorado and Shinkolobwe—had been endowed with the volatile element. He believed that even the massive territory of the USSR concealed no appreciable uranium and, as a result, that it would likely take the Soviets at least twenty years to build their own atomic bomb. Cornering the world’s uranium, therefore, meant that the United States should be able to preserve an atomic monopoly for decades to come.

This was a bad miscalculation. Uranium turned out to be more common than tin, and nearly five hundred times more abundant than gold. At least a hundred billion tons of reserves are now known to exist, including substantial holdings in Russia. Richard Rhodes summarized Groves’s quest thusly: “He might as well have tried to hoard the sea.”

one is forced to think whether the White House would have "abandoned" the Democracies in 1939 , and implying this to Berlin , forcing Paris and London declaring support for a now "hopeless" Poland and ensuring war in the West , during the Nazis' real reason to exist , a campaign to destroy the Communism ... Thus forcing an invasion of Belgium , thus forcing a deal (with the matchless US industry supplying the Anglo French alliance with war material at the whim of the US Congress or maybe not -if the Europeans did not behave) and truly delighted at the defeat of the French making it much cheaper and easier . Truly Civ III avarice at work in real history .

ı myself love playing at premade maps where ı know the locations of resources and secure them right from the start ...

but this is still a discussion of the 3rd Balkan War of 1914 ; we have merely established that land grabs were the norm , even most useless today , something might come out of it someday . ı read the Italian campaign in Libya was planned with diligent study of the Classics , now the Ancients know better than anyone and wasn't Jul Ceasar the greatest commander ever or something ? Apparently they were expecting a Sicily , with people uncooperative as much as those lovely or something Sicilianos ; but they were greatly suprised to find so much sand . In Libya . Did they give up ? Of course , something always comes up with land , given time ...

really , the software should be fixed . Turkish might be evil , what's wrong with the Czechs ?

edit : Hey , Cruel mountains now fixed . See , ı should really have had a "bad" name , r16 can not scare computers enough !

so we have this idea that in an age of widespread despotism , life under Ottoman rule was competitive to all , preferable than most . Maybe they were not the only ones capable of providing such "enlightened" management , but the accident of geography and stuff combined with a caprice of historical continiuty provided the Ottomans a supernova size expansion . Within 45 years of landing on the European shores around Çanakkale , 30 odd years of occupation of some fort with an intention to stay , Kosova was won and any likely combination of local capacity for a rollback was defeated . Ottomans were the only power of "their" kind in the Balkans , loyalty to the throne was assured , no internal disputes could weaken the state , short of a catastrophic infighting for the throne . There was one after 1402 , which was basically weathered because of the "loneliness" in the Balkans ; all of those guys were in one boat up there and greatly desired a "stability" that would allow paying the Genoans enough to allow non-stop ferrying of people aka reinforcements across the Straits . Combine that with the emnity of the locals to the general mindset of Europe and there you have the basic core of the Ottoman longevity . A juggernaught , a hulk that can not be felled by but one blow . No single defeat , however devastating it might be , can cause the total breakdown of the state . To expand on that a bit Rumeli will be lost without steady support from Anadolu and not a single soul will survive , religious hatreds being what they are in the 15th Century and with all those Bulgars, Serbians , Greeks , Bosnians , dozens of nationalities ı can't even name , will have to prove their already suspect worth in the eyes of the Catholic Church . Which happens to be the only organization capable of orchestrating a campaign that might defeat the Ottomans in Europe ... Enyojing it or not tthe Christian subjects of a throughly defeated Ottoman state will have to join the massacres so that they will not join the robbed , raped and massacred . This eases any trouble that might brew in Anadolu with Rumeli being a massive reserve "always" on the side of the State . There is this joke ı saw in some journalist's column somewhere sometime ; some guy is selling bears . Each for one gold and yet there's one for 5 gold pieces . This of course sounds ridiculous now all the bears look the same . ı don't know why anyone buys a bear but anyhow one of the prospective customers asks the reason for the price disparity . Turns out the expensive one is from Rumeli and understands what you tell him . This is of course some joke that suggests that the during the last years of the Ottomans the people from the European side of Empire were better read , almost a smirk of cultural superiority . Adapted to silly r16 narrative though it simply means the bear from Rumeli will not eat you and those for one gold might very well do so . Even without provocation .

until 1453 . Which was indeed only possible through a hard fought land campaign that defeated Popes' attempts to undo their great strategic mistake of letting Ottomans set foot across the sea barrier ... Amidst a population mass that might agree with them . 1396 was the last official Crusade or something that naturally saw the Frenk joyfully massacring the Rum and it happened because Yıld
ırım Bayezit was getting ready to take Istanbul and convert the Ottomans into a real power , instead of one that depended on the good will of Italian maritime cities to exist . 1402 happened because Bayezit was walking on the clouds and Timur had many offers from Rome , apart from a basic nomadic design for loot . He conquered Anadolu . And Izmir , because he needed some Jihadist creditantial especially after breaking the fame of the Ottomans who were like totally giving hell to the hated Europeans after all the suffering of the original Crusades . With the Sunni rage raging , there have even been people on Turkish TVs to proclaim Timur as some sort hero or something but the thing is he didn't really like the set up of crossing that mere kilometers of sea , only if some ship captains felt like it . He was on his way to India , the standart fare for the Jihadists of his kind when he died , kinda unsuspecting Rumeli which he could not reach would be the re-birth of the Ottomans . And in some sweet irony , the Serbs who have made killing Turks the essence of their soul were like even instrumental in that , with the guy who became king after 1389 saving the day in 1396 and almost doing the same in 1402 and by his demise creating enough diversion for some sort capability of resurrection for Ottomans to escape . From the clutches of all those Anatolian elites who were so ready to sell the Ottomans to the highest bidder in the true nomad tradition .

which was a blessing and a curse for making empires . The steppes are harsh places with many opportunities to die . The strict , almost brutal codes call for tolerance ; help those in need , for tomorrow you yourself might need the same . The civilized man regularly gets surprised by conduct of the savages in matters of honour , conditioned to non-stop backstabbing that has kinda defined civilized life . And yet those whom you might need not are so easy to be delegated to the trash can . And dead at that . So that they won't be able to take revenge . The early Ottomans were a coalition of the willing or something with so many celebrated families of raiders . The "well" known Akıncı , light cavalry that preceded the main army in campaigns , covered retreats , conducting harassment in war or "peace" . People ı would have hanged to a man , but then robbery , rape , looting and destruction of food reserves to starve entire communities , stuff that legally constitutes warcrimes in the 21st Century were the norm , things everyone did back then . A thing that has been levied at the Ottomans that they were just thives who ran on the success of war and lived by the booty of it , were great when they could expand and failed when they faced disciplined armies of the West resonates much . In our former lands , even the Republic has avoided any such discussion . At least in my time ; was in schools of various types '78 to mid 90s . ı consider it most unlikely in 2016 such an idea could become mainstream in Turkey , with the ongoing efforts to destroy the Republic to its last vestiges of existance ; only when the Saudi control is unchallengeable , it will become the "truth" .

right and wrong at the same time . Banditry exists since time immemorial , sometimes states manage to supress it and sometimes states exist to conduct it and the failure to expand outwards might well turn it inside which obviously happened during the Ottoman times , with the established practice of starting a rebellion with the explicit aim of getting pacified by the state , being bought by governorship of some province . But as we have seen by the six hundred odd years of its presence the Ottoman Empire was not just a confederation of bandits and thieves . Instead it was a state that offered as much as any other state for most of its existance . Horse mounted sheep herders expanding a city state of average standing in the aftermath of the Anadolu Selçuklu , more cities , expanding in the unique situation of the Balkans and more importantly staying there , giving a credibility in uniting Anadolu to create possibilities of more expansion in the Balkans . Success breeds success and people remain loyal ; expansion of the State might mean people's loyalty rewarded with land and all sorts of wealth , if not in place of their birth then in newly conquered lands . That the Orthodox Church has done too well in amassing wealth allows these all to be realized with too much upheaval in the newly "acquired" people , who are generally left with their own holdings while emigrees from Anatolia are simply installed instead of priests and monks . Who even loose their flocks to the banner of Islam , strenghtening the hold of the Ottomans even more . A shining success story of an expanding state .

with a transformation to take place after the conquest of Istanbul . The state will of course remain an agricultural one forever but clearly the end of expansion is foreseen . Mehmet II is truly a man of Renaisasance . Yeah , you know ı can't spell anything , but it's clear the Conqueror is well read and obviously a student of the Roman history . The fall of the city has united the two halves of the Empire as permanently as it is possible in history to be permanent . The Italian maritime reach into the heart of the state cut , there can be a real navy to do some good . And the thing that there's a physical limit to possibility of growth . The thing that armies can move only at the speed of foot ; takes a week from Istanbul to Edirne . You might field all the best warriors in the world and all your enemies might either be wimps or women , kids of 15 and geezers over 60 but the thing really is you have be back in barracks in winter and those must be in your capital city because your enemies will not be sporting enough to wait you to kill your all enemies on one side of your empire . They would rather strike now , with your army elsewhere . There should the risk of a campaign next year to keep the peace ...

Vienna must be the possible limit of a medieval state ruled from Istanbul . Not because we were defeated twice there , but the army could marched there in so many months arriving in September and that leaving just a month or so to fight . Kanuni left with the rains because it would be followed by snow and his magnificient army would be frozen so bad that Stalingrad would always be defined as a Vienna with tanks . Kara Mustafa Paşa delayed just not because he was a pervert with a desire to maximise his share of the loot of the capital of Habsburgs but he also needed a roof over his head for the winter . If the Papists had not forced an early decision and the city kept on resisting , Napoleon would have ample reason to pay attention to the fire of Moscow , learning it from the Paşa . Who would do his best to hide the defeat but horseback communications could be just about faster , he was beheaded in Belgrade by December 25th of that year . Possibly before he could arrange the death of the Sultan in some hunting expedition . And throughout the 150 odd years that seperated the two sieges , Vienna remained 150 odd kilometers from the Ottoman border .

and yet the Roman experience proved it could be done better , by maritime reach . Rome had ruled over so much , Istanbul could rule over the same only from the opposite side of the map . You know , succesfully expanding was practically the only solution working at that time , states had to expand . That's why at the time when the Popes were busy trying to convert him , Mehmet II was claiming a legacy of Troy . Now that migration from the said location had resulted in the city of Rome , hence the empire bearing the name . The Rum Kayseri , totally meaning the Ceasar of Rome , had just captured the last capital of that ancient thing , he had every right to claim the rest .

though ı will never understand this city . We are giving food to this pack of street cats , ı never call them mine or our , but the cats of our house , being born in the garden and stuff . ı am on errand walking down the street , ı see the fatwhite dead . Seems run over by a car , understandable in a sort of way for it was nearly getting killed before my eyes the night before when this car went over it , no contact with the deadly wheels but a loud bang of the head on the fender . Being little , running away from cars is a thing they have issues learning . Have a kilometer or so walking , maybe less and double that for coming back to home . Naturally ı see many beaming smiles during the time ... Almost laughter that the street cleaners are not picking up the dead body , for which ı am not holding anything against them . On the way back there is even the 4 year old kid running to it with his toy in his hand , to see it again . ı hear his personal opinion that the cat has exploded , too . He has no idea how lucky he is , for he has no clue on what exploded means . No , it's just a spot of blood where it was hit , and a thin red line to the side of the road where it was pulled . Nothing to be noticed within 2 or 3 days . A change of clothes and the cat has disappeared . ı don't know why am hated so much for Lord Vader and stuff refuses to see their represantatives and stuff to be convinced that am an idiot ; the world does not pity the dumbo one bit for it might have been all those brilliant people of the world , and of proven bravery and all the manly stuff one might ever aspire to , called to explain themselves instead of one stupid courtesy visit you know people twice better than dumbo with hands at their back . Don't bother with my ugly stare , ı might wish all the meetings you might ever desire instead , though am pretty sure you would really really hate me then . Ah yes , as mysterious as the saying which goes if you won't have the last one , do not start laughing .

and then uniqely in the annals of Ottoman history and stuff Fatih's troops land in Italy , to be recalled as the Sultan dies . Poisoned by the looks of it . His sons will fight a costly war with the winner Bayezit II almost totally cured out of any desire for war . His son , the celebrated Yavuz will go East instead , to win one of those temporary superiorities over Iran . And South to knock out the Memlük State , which is kinda one total anachronism by then , unlikely to have enough manpower supply for slave-statesman line that keeps a vast farming majority under control . That they will survive until Napoleon involves the thing that it's the Ottoman backbone that provides relief that allows them to keep on bickering with the Istanbul's own slave-statesman line . Yavuz dies , before he can turn to West , too . Poisoned by the looks of it . Kanuni provides the proof of Grand Seignor no doubt by the distraction of the Christians' own sectarian infighting . So many campaigns , so many victories but all to be stopped soon , by the practical impossibility of further expansion .Vienna by September is imposing stuff ...

where were we ? At the transformation after Istanbul . With Fatih running for a Medieval Roman Empire and well read about the centrifugal forces involved with such , laws are made that it's OK to kill own brothers once grabbing the crown . The coalition of the willing thing abandoned with state officials coming from Sultan's own school as much it is possible , instead of chosen among rich families and the like . There are truckloads of BS coming from Christian sources on the cruelty of stealing the boys of the Christian families for the Yeniçeri units . Which actually offers the Christians of the Empire some weird participation in the affairs of state . In an era when Religious affiliation provides the identity , the troops are of course to be Muslims . Which is provided by giving them to Turkish families at a little age ; farm work no tougher than they might have endured at home builds up their physical stature . Hard training is still a thing with the elite military units of today . It helps building discipline and unit cohesion apart from any requirement for actual fighting . But the grandest vezir of the grandest sultan of the Ottomans was a 20 years old dude of the Sokolovich family when taken , one of his brothers became a bishop or something like that . If the practice was entirely cruel , Muslim families wouldn't give their sons to the Christians so that they would have a chance to join the Sultan's slaves and you know , have a career path to the very top . And the thing about giving freedom of belief , however restricted , to Christians and the lot . It made the Ottomans a state of Christians as much as it was one of Muslims . Though in the unlikely case of surviving that far , we would have real trouble in becoming a multi-ethnic democracy . Say by our beloved Bosnians and their awesomest warlords who would utterly reject being equals with the Serbians . Yeah , isn't it a great mystery that ı will get away with name calling Bosnians once again ?

amazing , with all the fixes and tweaks , the number of #305s have gone up to 48 ?

as ı must have said a hundred times already , reading is a good thing , might add insights to what long have been central pillars of one's thinking . Say , the relevant Osprey Air Vanguard title , finally seen by yours idiotly , must be the one where the authors declare Koga had pals with him who actually saw him flipping over but could not bring themselves to strafe the wreckage ; he might have been still alive ... Which might not suit with the Japanese "barbarism" and the whole lot which we are accustomed over the years but might well be the case , that Koga's valuable assistance to good old America would have happened anyhow , disregarding the "typical" hatred and all that implied . Which was a most useful narrative anyhow . Japan of 1950s , land of cheap labour and a shining example of American generousity in the face of evil Communism still practised by Mao's useless China . A rather hard coded truth that they were not exactly humane to anyone , but the work to that end assures Japanese do not lose face . And keeps the spirit alive , in case Uncle Sam needs boots on the ground , say if Reds keep closing the tech gap or score bigger in the de-colonisation process .

trolling the web turns up immense amounts of material on Pearl Harbour . Being somewhat bright or something , ı have deduced this 2016 must be the 75th anniversary of that particular day of infamy . ı count the Pearl Harbour as the #1 reason why Japan lost the war . Even being bona fide savages , they might have defeated the American Navy on the high seas and cause an immense heart searching in this rabidly Nazi loving US of America to look inward and lose so much time in finding scapegoats , you know , all those Commies under the bed ... Before adding that to the evils of London . Instead , they merely sunk a couple or two of old battlewagons , in some rather shallow harbour , to be merely refloated , repaired and sent to war . Except Arizona which was far too gone with that "lucky" hit and sistership Oklahoma . "Recovered but never repaired" and the result for that might simply be that there were far too many American ships by then anyhow ... With that in mind , ı was long a believer in the idea that attack was a brilliant success otherwise , you know as in tactically . It has been a lifetime since Japan surrendered and their gentle steps in re-asserting themselves military might be confronted by a successfully resurgent China , a power rather stronger than it was in the 1930s . ı have seen a magazine article that suggests there were a lot of swordplay in fighing on the Great Wall of China , but ı don't think anyone in Tokyo can even dare dreaming on a repeat performance of that kind . As such , Japan's "finest hour" is not that sacrosanct as it used to be . ı was rather surprised to read that the great success is not what it looks like and Japan's bold strike was almost a "bloody shambles" .

and with that ı do not mean Nagumo's refusal to consider a 3rd wave against the oil tanks ... Taking advantage of sources from Japan ... and funnily enough ı can not locate that damned magazine where ı read what am about to rant about ... It can't be a dream or something , right ?

it was this insanely ridiculous experience of mine , writing up the entrance here above and start looking for it , the magazine to qoute and utterly failing to spot it . Those unfortunate followers of mine will remember the dreamcaster who is this quite the gal or something who , you know , casts dreams . Well , you remember am actually an admiral in the Starfleet , right ? Aggression works pretty in dreams but her "rendition" thing was so softly , even adding some 12 years old kid to get me behave at places now in any real case of such an event would provide the undeniable answer to the question whether lightsabers work . Which would make me such a big spoilsport , the hated dude that wrecks all the fun . Was almost at the point believing the magazine article was a practical joke , she suffering my tantrums so politely otherwise ...

turns out the magazine was right under my nose , with apologies to Flypast let's share a bit or two ... You see , the article was really "new" for me . Can not challenge it apart from the criticism of the Japanese dive bombing technique . Which

...was unique. Attacks were
made in shotai (flights) of three ... with 30-second intervals between aircraft. The leader would dive at 60° and centre his bombsight’s central dot on the top of the target’s foremast. Bomb release was at 1,300 to 2,000ft. Where the bomb hit relative to the aim point was assumed to be the result of wind drift and target motion. The following pilot would steady into his dive just when the leader’s bomb exploded, note the impact, and adjust his aim point to compensate.

just allow me to rant that windspeed and direction are hell to judge , even more so in the 1940s . Where the flight leader takes aim "straight" at the target and his aim is taken to be "true" , otherwise you would have no way of knowing the wind speed . Which naturally has an impact on the bomb you drop , making it drift to the side . The following pilots guess the wind speed and direction from the miss by the lead pilot and aim accordingly . This is simply a rehash of the paragraph you read just above ? Well , this is exactly what the Stukas did , from Poland to France and back to the depths of Russia . Maybe the uniqueness derives from the formation dive ?

otherwise it does a tremendous job of smashing Pearl Harbour - deadly surprise attack narrative into a thosand pieces . Right from the start , Yamamoto who insisted on it in the first place ... Though , ı reserve the right to declare it's typically translated into English in a "rather wrong" way...

Following a rigid adherence
to optimistic assumptions, a characteristic that would cripple Japanese planning throughout the war, the possibility that the strike might not be a surprise was not considered during the nine months of planning. In the hours before the fleet departed Japanese waters, Yamamoto addressed the aircrew mustered on the deck of the flagship Akagi. They should not be overconfident, he insisted: “Everyone should be prepared for terrific American resistance ... in this operation we will meet the strongest and most resourceful opponent of all.” This struck Fuchida and Genda like a thunderbolt.

During the transit, Genda and
Fuchida met with Lt Murata Shigeharu, leader of the torpedobombers. They concocted an alternate plan to be used if surprise was not achieved. Over Murata’s objections, the torpedo-bombers would hold back until the divebombers attacked Ford Island. Genda and Fuchida assumed this would draw the defenders’ attention and AA fire upward, allowing the torpedo-bombers to sneak in low. It was a meagre adjustment that would require unrehearsed to-the-second timing. Fuchida would signal the chosen plan with flares. One would activate the original ‘Surprise’ plan; two which Fuchida claimed could be fired “at two- or three-second intervals,” would order the ‘No Surprise’ plan. This scheme and the method of signalling, was the first of Fuchida’s blunders.

oh , there is indeed a whale of a difference between "They might see us coming" and "Will hit back like a thunderbolt" and the even lovelier versions that last will go unremarked upon . Let's say Yamamoto might be really disturbed by the news of American radar suddenly sprouting on Oahu or the indications that B-17s are to be island on the day , even if they are legitimately on their way to Clark Field ... Menawhile (as qouting is kinda cheating) let's add the superflous r16 explanation that the two of brightest aviation experts of the IJN change the attack plans on the fly and come up with options . If they arrive at Ohau undiscovered , the torpedo bombers are to go in first , being rather vulnerable during the attack phase , so many ships , so many guns in so little a place . If discovered , the dive bombers /fighters first to surpress the defences . And as might have guessed already , the flare plan goes awry as well . ı would have loaded flares of two different colours . Blue flare , Plan A , red flare , Plan B from outer space ... You can fire as many as it takes , then filling the sky with fireworks if need be .

fuchida goes for the surprise , signalling the famous Tora Tora Tora and fires his flare , thinks the fighters failed to see , fires a second . Which makes it the non-surprise option . The magazine article really goes on to work on Fuchida ... declaring he was really mistaken to think they were noticed and in intentionally ordering the divebombers ahead .

...
the torpedobombers and the dive-bombers began an undisciplined race to the harbour, each executing a different plan.

according to the narrative Fuchida
maintained to the day he died . Because he made his decision before seeing everybody was asleep down there . As in

After firing the flares, when his
westward progress cleared the clouds, Fuchida saw “the beautiful harbour with all the great ships at anchor”. There were no fighters in the air, no smoke billowing from ships raising steam, no other indications that surprise had been lost. Fuchida fired the flares before he observed the harbour, and he picked the wrong plan.

the same clouds that barred the dive bombers of the second wave from effective combat , but that's getting ahead of the story .

When released [into action] Murata, who did not like the idea of allowing the dive-bombers to awaken the defences, rolled into a port turn, put his nose down, and accelerated. The following torpedo-bombers peeled left to take up their ... attack formations. The four leaders were soon far ahead, their followers with firewalled throttles trying without success to close to the mandated intervals. The formations never closed up. Intervals opened to 1,640 to 5,900ft. One group got totally disconnected and ended up circling over Ewa, ten miles west of the harbour, lost.

which means the concentrated attack meant to take place within 2 minutes extend up to 10 . Of the last 7 torpedobombers 5 will be shot down . Two groups sorta exist , One to attack Carriers , seemingly as the opening shot since Carriers have even more flak guns and when these fail to find the flattops in port , they turn to battleships , getting in front of the designated attackers . Increasing the risk to the latter . Even worse

Little could be done to properly distribute the attacks. Pilots at the tail end did not know which ships had previously been hit. Surprised by the intense AA, concerned that they might be shot down before they dropped, the inexperienced aviators tended to go for the ships directly in line with the inlet. Twelve went for Oklahoma and nine West Virginia, while only two targeted California and one Nevada. Needing three or four hits to ensure a sinking, sufficient were only scored on Oklahoma and West Virginia.

all that takes place in radio silence . Because we all know Japanese radios were bad and especially Zero pilots had them removed as dead weight ?

Why didn’t the Japanese get on their voice radios and sort this out? The Imperial Japanese Navy completed its first radio factory in 1940, with a capacity to produce 1,000 sets a month. Full fleet retrofit was to be completed before the attack. Factory technicians were dispatched to install the radios. There was no co-ordination between the radio technicians and the airframe manufacturers. Each technician had their own way of installing the radios. They were given credit per installation, without regard for whether the radio worked properly, so they slammed them in quickly and moved to the next aircraft.

Problems abounded. The radios were
often inaccessible; dials and readouts were obscured, controls and switches could not be seen or operated. Wiring was not cut to fit. If there was extra cable, it was just looped and stuck any ... place in the cockpit, making an internal antenna. The radio frequency signal generated by the engine’s spark plugs was picked up by the excess wiring, causing a constant roar in the headphones. The radios, particularly in the cramped Zeke, could easily be kicked when entering or leaving the cockpit. And so the catastrophic list went on...

the reason the Japanese carried out the attack , the torpedo strike falls flat ... They are copying the Brits' success in Taranto , they intend to cripple the battleships . They might have done much better if unrushed ... Level bombers of the second wave add Arizona to the roster ; even if their 10 hits might have done much better if their "secret" weapon , the 800 kg bombs were more rigorously tested with 7 duds and only 3 explosions . Battleships' survival scares the Japanese , they task the divebombers of the second wave with attacking such , preventing them from what they were originally tasked with , sinking cruisers ... Remember the cloud cover ? It prevents the second wave from effective combat with planes unable see from high and at low level their bombs lack the kinteic energy to penetrate deck armour of the ships that count ... In case they are even able to drop in the first place . The magazine gives an hit rate of only 19% in contrast to 60% they were achieving in training . Milling around their attack was extented to 40 minutes , allowing the American fighters to get a few . There's even negative talking against the dive bombers of the first wave for their attck on Ford Island . Assuming carriers are in port they expect air groups of those ships to be also present . Tirelessly training for anti-ship attacks the Americans can rally quickly ,follow the Japanese planes to their carriers and do untold damage . Ford Island is inside Pearl , right ? Yeah , instead of a two minute torpedo mass attack , everybody is woken up by the time that "decisive" phase is about to start ... And imagine , Zero is the best fighter plane in the world or something of the day ...

ı have seen elsewhere that even the notion that those little subs (that were also sent in and almost gave away the whole show away when USS Ward sunk one) were entirely a waste of lives and resources might be wrong , with one surviving long enough to fire , you know stealing one hit form the already "failing" torpedobombers ...

ah , reading is a good thing ; you get new viewpoints and stuff . Even helps a resource for chit chat . ı was wondering the thing behind that bane of Russian subs , mysterious quacking sounds that could not be traced . With the forum's resident ex-submariner suggesting they are just not real . Turns out one American sub just out of Pearl for training back in the 1950s suffered such an attack , immediately surfacing and alerting anybody that might do something . It took them some 30 years to figure out it was a mating call of the Minke whales , as far as ı remember it , with repeated "attacks" over the years . No , obviously the sub was not afraid of being raped ; it might just be that in those days of wild imagination they might have assumed it was a freshly realized German WW II design with Russian pigs in it . So that destroyers or planes might have sunk it , without risking hitting an American boat . Americans can take pride photographing some Russian frigate at anchor with anchor chain in the center of the picture , you know with the sub being just under the frigate in port ; they are so ready to deny such "greatness" to others ...

books can be so entertaining without even turning a page . Islamic books are so dangerous in this so Islamic New Turkey these days . Woke up yesterday to learn my older brother finding two books on the door as he left for work . Written by Adnan Hoca himself ! This guy is like totally famous for his stern opposition to the Darwinism worldwide , no doubt after developing a jealousy of sorts at the matchless expansion of the Congregation ... In Turkey he is rather more known for the chairs with golden ornaments that kinda look like Ottoman thrones or something , and his TV channels where former fashion models listen to his endless sermons , you know with all the make up and nary an headscarve in sight . ı don't watch any of it , but the newspapers tend to think he wants to be recognized as the Mehdi ... Was confused at first . Is he suggesting he is a better man than anybody in the A-K-P , really the only one fit to be the sultan ? Went to bed last night with the latest achievement of the matchlessly glorious intelligence services that catch birds flying in the clouds by jumping high and biting them birds in the neck ; with discovery of yet another Congregation cell in aerial branch of the Army of Petrol . So , is he offering to save people , assuming this is surely people and stuff ? Turns out the books were everywhere . ı think some guy got scared of getting caught and just dumped them all over the place . Of course putting them to a trash can is a sin , with all those Ayets in the pages so he leaves them at the doors , and of course people throw them immediately away ... My mother approved me picking up this thick book from the park rolling on the ground by the wind , in which the Hoca re-writes the entire Kuran according to alphabetic order . If you want to know all the Ayets related to deserts as an example , you just have to find Çöl in Turkish ...

our scared but still respectful Muslim can not bring himself to burn his stash , too ... Brickheaded lefties were more experienced in that and nobody uses stoves these days . Turn out ash and you might well see the Police at the door ! And with them all burned up , you can never prove the books were by Adnan Hoca . Compared to the Congregation he is of course nothing . The Congregation has imams for every crap thing , wouldn't be surprised to learn they have one officially , grandiosely named imam of sewers . Yet only one imam of Adnan Hoca has ever gone down into record . As seen in a magazine article when ı was young , like 30 years ago . The one that would suit Sodom and Gomorra , tricking teen daughters of rich families that it wasn't adultery . Who knows , maybe that was a Congregation thing , too . With them claiming to be the true Islam , in contrast to the Adnan Hoca operation ...

and there's nothing to worry about . There TV channels to assure the population that the end of the world is to be in 2140 . Quoting the guy whom the spiritual leader of the Congregation claims to follow or something . If you are infidel like doubting , we also hear the former wrote of the Internet in 1929 , describing it like many and many radio stations . Or something , was surfing aimlessly , felt no need to pay any attention .
