A personal request to the C&C community

Sent the email, but I wanted to share the picture. This is a smaller version than what I sent.

I went to visit my brother in Fairbanks, Alaska last year. There's a town just South of there called North Pole. Santa's house is in the center of town where St. Nicholas Lane splits off from the main highway. People get letters sent from there to children, with Santa's signature & a North Pole postmark. I guess even the elves read your paper when they take a break from toy-making.

I'm not dressed all in black because I'm hip. Or because I think I'm Knecht Ruprecht. It was a exceptionally nice day for September. I only had to wear three layers if they were dark enough to soak up the sunlight filtered through the clouds.

Grrr, did I really forget to mention my hometown? Stevens Point, Wisconsin.

For everyone else, I'm the guy in the yellow USA hat with the dog and Santa's next to him. Interested to see someone else from Wisconsin. Lots of nice photos!

I did also. Hometown: Dana Point, California, USA. Present residence: San Bernardino, CA. The picture is from Alaska because my brother worked up there for a few years & I went to visit him.

I've made several pics myself, here's one to look:

In bold: CFC users
The other guys haven't registered yet (and I guess my gf's parents never will), but I showed them your pictures and they loved them. They told me to send you their greetings and best wishes for Christmas and the New Year. :) Oh, and I told them about CFC. My girlfriend: "I've never thought the users of your game forum would be that helpful. Impressing." I guess that was the moment she realized that it wasn't just a game forum, but a community of its own.

He should have cropped out the long-haired guy in black to the right instead :p

@Blue Monkey: this is not how it will look in the paper, it's only a preview for this forum. :) We're discussing whether to put you on the front page, actually...

I like the long hair, Tak. Want to share a pic, too? Still nearly 14 hours left for last-minute submissions. ;)

Maybe you can mention that my family combines our traditional German celebration with old Mexican customs. My grandma Stoudt grew up on an Indian reservation.

You must! AFAIK no one has posted from south of the equator! Xmas at Midsummer!

It's night here and I need a camera anyway.
If you're doing it again I could get you one of the Estadio Monumental if I had time to maneuver and all… :/

Crosspost edit:
It being summer means you can stay up lighting fireworks all bloody night if you want to, both on Christmas and New Year nights!

Don't you have one of yourself with a book or notebook? The paper can be photoshopped.

I love your getup, Ares! I joined a local group but they do 14th century, so I have to be a backwoods peasant soldier if I want to use a conical helmet with a nasal, a smattering of mail and a round shield. Oh well!

Thanks, Mithadan. :) If you want to share some pics of your 13th century outfit, you can email me.

Right now I'm in the office working on the pictures. It will take some time to get the edition ready, I'll keep you updated.
