I've looked all over this forum, and havent been able to find the answer. ( sorry if this has already been adressed before.)

Is there any benefit to having more than one of the same type of mana node? Like 3 fires is better than 1? sorry again for the noob question!

The more mana you have, the higher promotions your adepts start with. Also, mana can be traded.

Oooh, right on. I knew about trading it.... lol I'd always trade the extra away thinking it was useless to me. Thanks.

From memory Jaded
1 Mana allows your adepts to learn that sphere
2 Mana allows your adepts to have level 1 in a sphere for free
3 Mana gives level 2 for free

Above that trade is the benefit, in ealier version it was possible to get level 3 for free, thankfully that changed a while ago.

Additional info
4 or more Mana does nothing.
3 Mana gives level 2 for free but you still need channeling II to use it (E.g. Adept needs to be promoted before fireball can be cast even though he may start with Fire II)

Nice... That would explain why nobody ever even offered a deal on mana untill I had 4 of the same kind.

Also, the AI puts a lot of weight on Mana in trades. You can probably get several resources and gold per turn for one Mana.

(I wouldn't mind seeing this change, as well as the amount of gold that the AI is willing to give for a resource. 25+ gold per turn for a luxury resource is entirely too much.)

It all depends on the stage of the game. If you have one city, an extra happy point might get you six gold, tops. However, if you have six cities, an extra happy point can get you more than 25 gold, not to mention some hammers and such.

Too much? if you have 6 cities one luxury resource can mean 6 more happy faces, and if you put them working on towns, it means 30 more commerce, and add bonusses to that, not a bad deal IMHO.
