A question about power plants...

With 1.29 at least the coal plant doesn't dissapear when hydro appears. I built hoover and then had to go ta all my producing cities to sell the coal in order to reduce my pollution. It might be a bug because all my hydros came from hoover and I didn't build them. But selling it did not affect production as already stated.

When you build Hoover you get a free hydro in every city - and those cities that already have a coal plant don't lose the coal plant, so it still appears in the city improvements window. As you correctly noted, selling the coal didn't alter production.

I'm curious, after Hoover was the presence of the coal plant still producing pollution? (i.e., could you confirm that even with your brand spanking new hydro plants the remaining coal plants were adding pollution icons to the city?) I didn't know that about the coal plant - Hoover interplay.

Yes, the coal was still spewing out billowing clouds of smoke. When I sold the plant I got 20 gold and lost two pollution Icons.
I guess my governer kept them idleing just in case the dam broke.

Cool :goodjob: Thanks for the info - I have frequently been pretty lacksadaisical about selling off coal plants when I get Hoover (unless I really need the few shekels) - knowing that the coal plants continue to produce pollution I will now sell them all immediately.

I thought the city needs to be on a river, not just in the city radius
No, it only needs a river in the city radius.
